Okay, so I found a translation and I am just generally confused.

Lots of things are being alluded to(This being a farewell of some sort, Kasumi and Joker fighting together before, Kasumi letting Joker continue on despite her dislike of the Phantom Thieves and the fac that she is not a PT by this point, and a mysterious promise), and it's a bit hard to take in.

In other Kasumi related news, this is pretty cool.

If true, the month of March is going to be a massive bloodbath. You got FF7R, Animal Crossing, Watch Dogs: Legion all releasing in the same month as P5R, and you have TLOU2 just before all of this.

I think Kasumi and Joker fought together before, when she first awaken her Persona. And we know even if she didn't join Phantom Thieves (because she doesn't approve their methods), she doesn't have a beef with them personally and she's even friends with Joker.

She has a very unique role in the story and I can't wait to learn more about it.

If that's the case, then I wonder how the new palace will play into this. We see what looks like her awakening in the new palace, but the new palace seems to be after the casino, so it's a bit hard to pinpoint things.

So My Palace is pretty much gallery mode with a ton of extra hub elements and minigames and we are getting some previous protag battles in challenge mode. All pretty cool.

So, Secret Base from Pokemon, but also you can bring any confidant into it and also play a card game minigame? Sign me up!

Wondering who else will be DLC for challenge mode, if anyone else... I'd be surprised if they stopped with two when there is many to be had, so we'll see...

Also, Q2 chibi models will be added as DLC costumes. Never would have predicted that.

They could bring in the other protags, that's for sure. Maybe, if they went nuts and included some SMT stuff, they could have the ultimate challenge be the Demi-Fiend. I heard he was a bonus boss before and he was quite ridiculous, so that would be neat.

I hope Kasumi gets a Q2 and Dancing in Starlight look. That would be great to see.

Just saw the latest papagenos papagenos video and it he talks about the Jane conspiracy a bit near the end.

Don't exactly agree with what he think Jane could've been, but its recognized as kinda reaching. I do think Kasumi being an echo is the most likely scenario, but that sentiment isn't exactly wide spread(As well as Jane speculation in general).[/MEDIA]

Demifiend would make sense. SMTIVA had a similar idea of old protags as bossfights, so they could just adapt those into Persona fights. If it had to bet though, I think they may just pick characters that have HD dancing models haha. Maybe Tamaki as the protagonist who bridges SMT and Persona as the final DLC...

I'd be kind of unfair if they didn't include her, unless she is an incredibly temporary party member...

You know, I keep on forgetting Jose is someone who exists in P5R.

Do we have any better of a read on him than we did the last time he was brought up on this thread? Besides the little detail this tweet has(The whole studying humans thing), I don't think we do.

In one of the weirder things that happened lately, a Star Ocean song has, for lack of a better word, been personaified for their upcoming collab. Like, they got Lotus Juice to rap on it and everything.

The original track is pretty similar, just not in the Persona instruments and obviously without rapping.

It makes sense that Kasumi's confident skill is allowing you to be more athletic with a variety of extra abilities. The counselor letting you gain more SP is amazing.

I gotta admit that I am almost tempted to pull out my Japanese PSN account I had for Persona Dancing just to try the game, in spite of the fact I would fail miserably at a visual novel with very little Japanese skills...

Honestly? It's really unlikely, but what would really be cool is if late into the Consultant confidant, you could take your party members for therapy. You could annul a weakness, turn a neutrality to a resistance, a resistance into an immunity, or even promote an immunity to either absorption or repulsion. It'd take time to do this (like, five trips), but it would allow some customization of the other party members.

Another skill that's likelier but still unlikely is the ability to turn a party member in for counseling, including you. What that would do is allow a character to get a permanent immunity to a status ailment, one associated with the character or their element.
  • For Joker, he would become immune to despair.
  • For Ryuji, he would become immune to shock.
  • For Morgana, it might not be available, but he would be immune to confusion. Maybe using Futaba as a proxy?
  • For Ann, she would become immune to burn.
  • For Yusuke, he would become immune to freeze.
  • For Makoto, she would become immune to confusion.
  • For Haru, she would become immune to brainwash.
  • For Akechi, he would become immune to rage.
  • And for Kasumi, she would become immune to hunger.

So, uh, if the March 2020 release date for P5R is true, then Doom Eternal has joined it with a March 2020 release date.

This month seems painful for people who like playing multiple video game series. I imagine smaller gaming YouTube channels will be having aneurysms.

Man, they really want us to max Consultant and Faith confidants. Their abilities are super good. I wonder if they'll make Devil better this time.

By the way, didn't they say there were more than two new Confidants? Do I remember it wrong or they also counted Goro's?

They said something like "If I had to answer if there were more new confidants, and could only say 'yes' or 'no,' I'd say yes." That seems opaque enough that it seems likely that he was referring to the new Akechi confidant IMO.

Alternatively, there may be 11th ranks for everyone during the new term.

An 11th rank would make sense. We know for sure that each party member will be getting some extra confident stuff because of the third tier Persona's, but what would the confidants do?

Also, more My Palace stuff.

Double also, did you guys hear about Doom Eternal getting delayed to March 2020. Jesus, there is a lot of games coming out that month, including possibly the English version of P5R.

I mean, P4G's approach to the 11th rank was basically just characters saying "Here are the actions I have taken to improve my life as we laid out in the 10th social link. Let's keep on going!". I imagine that something like that will happen again? Though it's also possible that they have something more elaborate planned, as it seems like this game is determined to exceed my expectations about literally every feature.

Yay Futaba ran animation, I suppose? Good to have inspiration for when P5A happens and they upgrade her to playable.

Well, this is certainly unexpected.

I mean, we already had Catherin DLC in the original Persona 5 where they dressed up as the characters, but this is quite the upgrade.

Okay? I just got the impression that the original DLC would all be included in P5R, so it seems like a bit of a cheat to have Full Body get new DLC...

I imagine we will still get the old Catherin DLC, as this is new DLC in the same vein as the P5 Dancing and PQ2 costumes. I guess this is just for those who want some extra, extreme Catherine stuff.

Fair! It just seems odd they didn't at least mix up the characters more? Ren is Vincent again... I know it'd be odd if it was someone else symbolism-wise, but if you're going to double-dip, why not get a little bit more creative?

Ooo, good choice! I'm hoping we get some atypical ATLUS choices - Etrian Odyssey, Trauma Centre, and such...

Also, not to say this is likely or anything, but how would you feel if ATLUS pulled a Square Enix with FFXV and those Q2 costumes became the models for a lower-rez Persona 5 port?

I mean, Haru seems to be Rin, and in the original DLC she was dressed up as Erica, so there is differences.

Edit: Actually, I guess it could be Kasumi, as we don't see the last party member. I just thought Rin's pose is similar to some of the dancing Haru would do in the P5 Dancing games, but I guess that could also fall under Kasumi.

So would Kasumi dress up as Erica now? I guess it fits cause both have red hair

Sorry, I edited that post right as you made this one and it pretty much admits that it could possibly be Kasumi. Kinda jumped the gun in my assumptions.

Between Persona 5 Royal on Switch (only after SMTV and Phantom Strikers come out, 720p60 docked and 720p30 handheld, Persona 5 OG is still Sony-exclusive) or Persona 3 & 4 HD Remasters on PS5 (but not for the first two years of the console's life), which would you pick? Pretend likelihood isn't a factor: all that matters is which you'd prefer.

Yeah... It's very possible that they are changing them, but IDK. It doesn't leave the best taste in my mouth, to be completely honest.

Ugh. Though call. I want P5R on Switch because I'd like more people to be able to play this great game (and to stop complaining about Joker being in Smash), but I also really really really want to never have to hear the question "But which version of Persona 3 is the truly definitive version?" ever again.

It just feels very very close to reselling the same DLC, even if it is slightly different... That said, it's optional and I don't have to get it. I will definitely be getting the boss battles though.

I think I'd also go for P5R on Switch, but if it changed it to Nocturne and Persona 3 then we'd talk.
