Can I ask how people do the grounded up Bs while they're running? I heard you we're supposed to hit jump to cancel the run but i have no idea how it works.

I have jump on L. I'd rather use that.
Same with doing it out of sheild, press L and then immediately up-B, before you jump. I have it on R and after a bit of practice it's easy peasy.

I do most of my jumping with the Pro Controller's L button, so any hypothetical benefits I could get jump tap jump such as better out of shield options are null and void.

I like MK's F smash. I purposely miss the f-smash, only to do another one when the other person comes up to punish it. lol

Anyone planning on getting Xenoblade X? That game looks like goty material.
The only games on a Nintendo system I'm planning to get are Star Fox Zero and Mario Maker. I'm not a fan of console rpgs personally.

You know you love the cute anime girls @ warionumbah2 warionumbah2 . Don't be so tsun.

Also, I'll be leaving Texas soon so no more Shockwave for me. I didn't get to go as much as I wanted to, but I did manage to take sets off top players, so I am happy with this conclusion. Hopefully will have more time for this next year. I'll be playing in MO from now on which has a lower skill ceiling but allows me to get more practice time. My MK will be back in fighting form soon.

Good stuff, Arkaizer! Let's keep this MK dominance train rolling.:4metaknight:

I made 1st out of 67 yesterday. Grand Finals was :4metaknight:(winner's side) and the best:4greninja:in the US World: @ KERO KERO (loser's side).

Hopefully videos will be up soon because I think we need to discuss the Greninja MU after those sets. I was actually the one that sent KERO to Losers in Winner's Semis because he made a lot of mistakes but in Grands, he played the MU almost perfectly with a few key errors. He would play his standard hit & run Greninja but he knew and reacted to my combo-starters with Shadow Sneak ready which, as most of us know, gets Greninja out of our Shuttle Loop after hit 1 and counter-attacks (and could easily KO us) before our hit 2 comes out. What I didn't know is that he can Shadow Sneak out of Up-Air chains and MACH TORNADO! Because of Greninja's stance, Up-Smash doesn't reliably hit its mark and KERO was all too aware of my F-Smash. Even catching his landings with my Up-Smash was out of the question most of the time because he would get close enough to make me commit to Up-Smash but then he'd Hydro Pump to the other side of the stage. KERO basically shut down all my BnB KO options while Greninja can KO MK with Up-Throw as early as 110% with Rage and has a few Sheik-like 50-50s without rage.

I won the 2nd set by switching to my platform-based playstyle. I also started hitting him with Dash Attack, baiting his Shadow Sneak by jumping into the air after him like I was going to follow-up, but then fast-falling to the ground as he reacted and punished him with either a F-Smash or Shuttle Loop. Even though it worked in the end, he did get wise to that strategy very quickly so it turned into a bunch of 50-50 situations for him where he'd either jump away to avoid the bait but risk getting KO'd by Shuttle Loop or Shadow Sneak to punish the Shuttle Loop but risk getting baited and KO'd. He even started hammering Shadow Sneak after he whiffed a Shadow Sneak to punish my delayed Shuttle Loops.

The ending game-count was 1-3, 3-2. I went Charizard for one game (lost horribly) to freshen my MK and snap out of any habits the previous set gave me since I knew that unless I snapped out of my current mindset, the next games weren't going to matter. I need to learn to do that better without needing a break mid-set at the cost of a game but that'll come to me when it does. Throughout both sets I only won 2 games via actually KOing him 3 times, a difficult task when your BnB KO options are shut down, and the last 2 games I won via planned Time-Outs.

I don't think it's unreasonable to say our Greninja MU is 40:60 after those sets. I play against KERO all the time so I know his playstyle, I quickly adapt to his new tech, and I probably have more Greninja experience than any other MK because of him. That said, I think KERO would slaughter ANY other MK. Greninja kinda does to MK what MK does to Rosalina: He takes away our best tools but, instead of leaving us with a timer before we get those tools back, he leaves us with really awkward 50-50s that last the entire set. That still isn't as bad as what we do to Rosa but Greninja definitely has the potential to be solid MK Counter-pick though his skill-floor is super-high and Greninja is a rarity because of it.

I'm already hard-pressed when it comes to fighting him but if KERO irons-out the mistakes he made, I'm gonna have to figure something out. Great stuff, KERO!

He can't shadow sneak bs our shuttle loop if we sweetspot it. Or at the very least make it hard as hell for him to pull off.

Edit turbo edition: Him beating/slaughtering any other MK is a bold claim yo lol.

Super Editfighter 4 and knuckles: Im 99% sure he cannot shadow sneak cancel our sweetspot shuttle loop, he can easily cancel the sourspot of the 1st hit tho. Same reason why grounded shuttle loop is impossible for him to cancel, the sweetspot locks him into the 2nd hit unless you angle it poorly.

It might change the timing but when he's already mashing, it won't matter. Especially with how awkwardly Greninja's body distorts when hit. Landing the sweetspot won't be easy and if you miss...bye stock.

There's a reason people can't SDI our Shuttle loop when we sweetspot the 1st hit, they cannot move its all down to the MK user aiming it correctly. He can mash all he wants he ain't canceling the sweetspot of the 1st hit just like the grounded shuttle loop.

More time it'll get patched out if you scream loud enough. They missed this foolishness 2 patches in a row.

Even if it does true combo against Greninja, which I don't think it does, sweetspot is impossible to land off Dash Attack or throws at KO percents. Sweet spot only factors in on air-dodge reads or low-mid percent Up-Air chains that Greninja can already escape.

Best Greninja in the US, maybe, but Amsa is worlds better than me haha. I appreciate the praise regardless. Wish that I had made better stage pick decisions and not gotten as Shadow Sneak happy as I did near the end (I was very aware that you were punishing them and should have opted for a better solution at that point, but... well, that's something I need to work on).

Regardless, I really did enjoy our set, even if I got kinda salty at myself for bad decisions. Definitely the best I feel that I've played Greninja, but I gotta work on consistently staying on that level. Your MK was phenomenal as always as well. As for it being 60:40 our favor, well, I won't comment on that since I'm pretty bad at figuring out MU ratios, but I wouldn't mind discussing the MU in general.

Edit: About Shadow Sneak getting patched, I highly doubt it at this point. It's been there since the beginning, and so many other things about Shadow Sneak have been patched (holding it in shield, running Shadow Sneak, etc.,). It hasn't been touched since indefinite Shadow Sneak was taken out (1.0.8 I believe), so I very much doubt its hitstun canceling properties are a bug.

Posting here to introduce myself and show that I am not a sheep

I've been really active in the competitive Pokemon scene for a couple years now, and a few months ago I decided to start playing smash alongside that. I've been playing MK for about a month now (not long I know, but I picked him up a while before he was really hyped by anyone so whatever) and I finally decided to stop lurking and get involved in the community

Also idk how joining skype groups works but I'm magnemite.magnemite if someone wants to add me :o

@ Katakiri Katakiri wow, I didn't know Greninja could pull those kinds of shenanigans with shadow sneak. Makes me kinda glad I wasn't in your position, heh.
