I think that Marth will return because he uses the sword the represents the Fire Emblem Franchise. Its the Icon in Melee and Brawl.

The last piece of the Main Theme is from FE1-FE3, although it could be a medley from other games. And isn't that FE theme music from FE1?
Case in point: Balloon Fighter and Mach Rider's themes in Melee. The last piece of the Main Theme is from FE1-FE3, although it could be a medley from other games.
I just don't think any music could confirm a character. Music in a franchise isn't related to the characters.

That Sig is awesome! Where'd you get that shot?!I've got a Marth sig add-on here. It's not exactly a support for Brawl sig, but it's something.

I have to admit, even though the lyrics were supervised by Sakurai himself, and he took into consideration that it's now an international series, I'm not happy with the way this arrangement turned out. I've heard many different variations for the FE theme, but this one is actually quite disappointing... it's possible that it occured this way because the original composer was not on the project. (I don't remember his name EXACTLY, but I'm pretty sure it started with and H or something and I dind't see any of that in the credits for that song)I share the sentiment.
I'm also deceived with the lack of support the FE Theme had. I don't know what's so great about Rayquaza.
Actually, I beg to differ, the music from FE 3 and 4 sounded much different and even had a special ending to them. The last piece of the Main Theme is from FE1-FE3, although it could be a medley from other games.

Keep in mind that NO and I mean NO characters that were unlockable in SSB64 or SSBM have been officially confirmed. I know a lot of people are hyped about Falcon since there's nothing about his franchise besides Goroh, but think about the general Mystery characters of the entire series so far.If anything, I'd say CF should finally be updated this week. We've gotten virtually no info regarding the F-Zero franchise.
Eh, maybe its just that the lyrics were in latin, but I wasn't too fond it to be honest. But then again, the only music we've had thus far I did like was the Ocarina of Time Medley and Sonic's "Live and Learn," so its not like it breaks from a pattern or anything. It was nice during that brief time at the end where the singing stops and its just the music though, so I guess its probably just the lyrics.I'm also deceived with the lack of support the FE Theme had. I don't know what's so great about Rayquaza.
I don't know - I've bee expecting that ever since the Ice Climbers announcement, yet we've remained eerily veteran-less since mid September. I think Sakurai may be saving the remaining veterans for some reason. I do expect a character this week - one per two weeks seems to be the pattern now - but I think it'll be Krystal, due to the accidental leak we got from her voice actor.EPX2 said:If anything, I'd say CF should finally be updated this week. I don't know if I could give a specific order for my favorite series, but Fire Emblem is definitely up there - its probably my favorite of the series that appear in SSB (at least unless Golden Sun gets in, in which case it has competition). Others would be Zelda, Sonic (mostly the Genesis games, plus SA 2 and Sonic Heroes [I'm a Chaotix fan, so I like that game more than most do]), Mega Man (Classic & Battle Network series), and anything made by Rare during the N64 era.Okysho said:Fire Emblem is one of my favourites next to smash bros too! followed by zelda, then metroid and Sonic Adventure 2 (just the one game because everything after that in Sonic's games were bad)
From what GenG said earlier, 1 and 3 - Marth's games.I'm kind of disappointed the FE theme didnt come in Japanese even though Sakurai mentioned it.
Ah well.
Anyone know which FE game its from?
Heh, see? Roy is popular among the smashers.Holy crap, WHAT AN ARGUMENT. And I thought my pre-AT Goroh essays were good.
Please, sign me up for this support group!
This would probably not count as a miscellaneous subject, but I've got even more proof of Marth's popularity in Japan.

SECOND ONLY TO LINK, Marth has the most websites dedicated to him on this Japanese Smash fan-index. True, it only refers to the number of artists/authors that posted sites about him, but it still seems to say something about his popularity. The top 5 most popular characters are:
Link リンク (168 sites as of 11/04)
Marth マルス (151 sites as of 11/04)
Roy ロイ (147 sites as of 11/04)
Kirby カービィ (144 sites as of 11/04)
Pikachu ピカチュウ (98 sites as of 11/04)
So it isn't necessarily because the artist might find Marth easy to draw (because Kirby is listed there too)- I have trouble drawing him myself!- it's just because he's flat out popular. The 3 Swordsmen are quite popular among worldly smash fans, especially the ladies. Too bad for Roy he's not gonna sit so cozy anymore.
I'm glad that the FE Lyrics are made in Latin, it fits the world-wide status that Fire Emblem has now (aside that Latin is well... one of the most interestings languages in history, even if it's a dead language).Eh, maybe its just that the lyrics were in latin, but I wasn't too fond it to be honest. Anyway, I added the three signature add-ons we have thus far to the first post, with credit to their creators.

FE traditional composer is Yuka Tsujiyoko and she's listed as the composition supervisor.I have to admit, even though the lyrics were supervised by Sakurai himself, and he took into consideration that it's now an international series, I'm not happy with the way this arrangement turned out. The Latin lyrics are what made this theme. It's like a hymn for the series. I bought the Fuuin no Tsurugi soundtrack just for the Opera in 2005 and I just can't stop listening to it. This one is also magnificent, majestic, epic, nostalgic, with a suitable pace for a fighting game, and the orchestra dignifies everything. It's my "Brawl classic" like Fountain of Dreams was in Melee. Is absolutely perfect, I enjoy each of these 75 seconds and I even don't have a clue what the second half of the song sounds like.Eh, maybe its just that the lyrics were in latin, but I wasn't too fond it to be honest. oops... mah bad...FE traditional composer is Yuka Tsujiyoko and she's listed as the composition supervisor..
so the last part of the music is only from Marth's games?.......What it's from FE1-FE3 is the last part, the Defense Battle music.
Well, its good to hear that you like it. Personally, theres something about it that I just don't - maybe its the latin, maybe its the opera-style singing, maybe its something else. Can't quite put my finger on it. Of course, music that I actually like is rare, and singing I like even rarer, so perhaps its just my odd tastes. *shrugs* I suppose you could say I'm just not a fan of music in general. The Latin lyrics are what made this theme. Compared to this, the rest of DOJO clips seem like midi emotionless crap. It's in a whole different level of production, work and emotion. Singing to the ordeals and the recurring themes of the series in this epic fashion is the utmost honor any franchise can strive for. The lyrics bring a tear of my eye, maybe because I can relate fondly to them.
Even when FE is a Japanese series, it basically ripped Medieval European culture and literature, so Latin fits like a glove.
Want Marth ****it!! anyways... you could not like the theme song just because you're not used to lyrics being in the song to begin with, though personally I share the same opinion with you... Comapring this version to PoR or evern FE 3 and 4.... it seems... sub-par...Well, its good to hear that you like it. Oh well, perhaps we'll get lucky and get another FE-related update this week. Another AT would be nice to see - I'm partial to the idea of Athos showing up and using Foreblaze on the area near him myself, though perhaps we could get the Black Knight and finally put his cult of fans to rest. Its just a pity its likely to take so long to get Marth's update. If the current rate of character updates continues (about 1 every 2 weeks), he probably won't even be updated until after the game's release.
Zevox
Not really. The music doesn't confirm anything, any more than Ridley's boss music confirms him as a boss or Ashley's theme confirms her. Sakurai isn't under any compulsion to put in characters that match with each musical piece's origin, especially with the new music mode in Brawl.thnx guys i just got myself some really nice marth siggs (okysho's one was really good) the music is from fe1 so that means that marth could be semi confirmed right?
I have a very bad opinion about the PoR one. It just doesn't sound like FE, too happy and fancy, plus they totally changed the tune with unnecessary rythm changes, bridges and fillers. The RD one is very good, traditional with a good arrangement.Want Marth ****it!! anyways... you could not like the theme song just because you're not used to lyrics being in the song to begin with, though personally I share the same opinion with you... Yes, I've waited for this. We have evryone except him (everyone meaning that right now, Lucas has replaced Ness). If anything, I'd say CF should finally be updated this week. We've gotten virtually no info regarding the F-Zero franchise.
There can only be one Mother main. If Ness comes back then Ninten has to be playable as well and that won't happen. No Ness will be in! Why does everyone hate him?
I like some of the transitions in the music, the intro is actually very inspiring... it's the kind of music that grows on you, but personally, FE3 and 4 sounds much better still... then again... The Brawl one is the best so far guys, it's the strongest, the most beautiful, the best arranged, without fancy bridges nobody likes. You can just listen to the background music accompanying the lyrics from 0:20 till 1:00, the score is amazing.
This is no way subpar. It's a new standart for the theme actually. Only F-Zero live arranges could match this tune in Brawl.
What is with people trying to add ridiculous rules to Smash? No, there's nothing at all requiring that there's only one Mother main character in the Smash series - how you came to this crazy conclusion is beyond me. Under your astounding logic, if Marth comes back, that means all of the other leads from the FE series must be playable as well. There can only be one Mother main. If Ness comes back then Ninten has to be playable as well and that won't happen.
Personally, I think Sakurai is messing with us he's purposly hiding unlockable characters from both games for a reason... I don't know why, but he likes to torture us... either way, ther HAS to be a character update this week, especially since there wasn't one last week... and unless Sakurai has become completely heartless, he'll give us something to look forward to...
For the third FE rep, I think its pretty up in the air personally. If Micaiah has decent popularity in Japan, she may well make it, and personally I think she'd be a great way to round the roster off. Otherwise though theres Sigurd (if the rumors of him being Sakurai's favorite are true), Eliwood (who apparently is fairly popular in Japan), Hector, Leaf, and even the off chance of a Roy return to consider, and none of them stand out enough for it to be predictable IMO.thethirdkoopa said:Anyhow Zevox you did a great thread here , What are your thoughts for the third FE rep after marth ? I'm going for michiah <_< Anyhow what's your take on claus in brawl (Just wondering , .)
I don't think anyone does. Its just that we know from the old Melee website that Sakurai never wanted to use him, and only did because Lucas' game was delayed, so its seems probable that hes done what he always wanted to do and replaced him with Lucas.DekuBoy said:No Ness will be in! I'd say any merit that assumption had is gone. We have Snake and Sonic, who are known to be secret characters, and King Dedede, who is most likely such (wouldn't make much sense for the entire Kirby crew to be starters). I'd even argue that its likely that Meta Knight and all the newcomers revealed after him probably are as well, which is why his announcement was delayed.Han said:It is important to note, however, that all of the secret characters in Brawl will not be revealed before it comes out.
Hmm your kind of right that it is a bit "Questionable" But i do agree with you about Michiah being great , As for claus i see what you mean by there , Glad to hear from you and still a GREAT thread =P.For the third FE rep, I think its pretty up in the air personally. As for Claus, I don't know what to think, because I know practically nothing about his series. I've never even played the one that made it to the US. I'm basically neutral when it comes to any Mother/Earthbound characters.

Aye, theres that too. Personally, I don't mind him revealing unlockables in the least - I'd even prefer it if he revealed them all before the release. Its just as much of a surprise when you see them on the Dojo as in the game, so I'm good there. Besides, I know I'm going to look up on the internet how to unlock everyone after getting the game, since I don't like the idea of stumbling around blindly in trying to unlock the characters.I believe Sakurai even said himself that he would hold NOTHING back. If there's a new character out, it's going to be on the Dojo sooner or later.
That would, of course, mean that if you want to keep just a few more characters secret for your little personal surprise, I suggest stop checking the Dojo. I'd predict at least three more characters to be revelaed before Brawl is released next year.
Um, how does that work? We have exactly one character with that combination, and besides, how it can be unoriginal when he is the original character to fit that description? Hes the one who started that trend in Fire Emblem. And its not like its a trend that caught on anywhere else either.y3nia659 said:IMO the blue hair and weapons makes the game look unoriginal.
