I was in the fence with the LGP or the Elgato HD card. My only issue with the LGP is that it supports component in (from what I see), but only supports HDMI out. So, I would have get a HDMI > component and find a CRT that accepts component in or get a component splitter/amp to split the signal between the card and the TV. The Elgato HD has a composite/S-vid in adapter, which I would use a composite splitter/amp (which I already use now w/ the DVC100) between the TV and the card.

Am I missing something? What's the typical stream setup consist of with a LGP + CRT?
I have had limited exposure to smash stream set ups, but we use the wii hdmi adapter, then hdmi in and out of the LGP to an asus evo monitor. From our testing people have said its virtually the same experience as CRT. however, a lot of people will placebo effect and say its lagging. I have not attempted to set up any card to a crt myself.

I'm not gonna be back in Louisiana anytime soon because I'm broke these days and my cash is going toward CEO, but next time I'm there or if you come to Mobile at some point, I'd like to MM you.

Coolness, have we played before? It's been awhile since I was on netplay and have forgotten most of the tags of the people I've played there

Anyone in the southeast region of LA should definitely consider going to Mobile for an event. It's about a two hour trip from Mandeville, but it's very much worth it imo.

Edit: From what I remember, their typical monthly Mobile events are on Sundays, so for those of you (melee) players who like Sundays and feel like taking a road trip, should definitely try to go.

I had a dream that someone in Anacoco, where I live, posted in here asking for people to play
And I was like
DUDE I LIVE IN ANACOCO TOO
And then I woke up and realized it was a lie and realized I'm still alone for a 60mile+ radius
But I checked this thread just in case

It sucks we are the only two in central Louisiana and we live so far away. But like playing once every two weeks isn't that bad :/

I'm trying to get that manaphy for you. I'm fairly certain I will have it by shrimp
Thanks so much! ^_^

Just let me know what you want for it. I have 4IV Fletchlings/Magikarps, and hordes of hidden ability Poke's. I can also breed you a 5IV Fletch or Magi but it's going to take a while, so let me know if you want one. Any/all of the above is up to you.

Didn't you get the memo? All the commentating happens on facebook and smashboards after the event. :troll:

Edit: Not even sure if we will have a stream. I haven't heard any word about it, but if there's anyone in the community that would like to step up and run a streaming set-up is more than welcome to. It will only make the tournament better.

I was playing so poorly :4luigi: stopped and gave me the death stare during a pm match. Anyway enough of the self deprecating humor. I appreciate the tips and best practice mentions during the cove friendlies I already passed the info on to my smash club "smashbabiez" the are training Saturdays between 1-4 to takedown ice, trey, and definetly want to beat magi. One question I had was how to di from:mewtwomelee: up a attack?

Hey everyone, I was curious what the stream setup is like in the new orleans area. Do we have someone with all the equipment? I would want to help get the stream promoted and was wondering if I would need to bring equipment to these tournaments or if we already had it taken care of.
I'm about 30 minutes from New Orleans, and I am starting to stream regularly. I will stream Golden Chariot if allowed to - I have all the equipment needed except for one or two USB webcams for player cams - and a second headset for casters.

I've streamed tournaments at www.twitch.tv/getgoodsmash (although the only VoD there was from my very first time streaming, with no commentators or a good overlay.

And as of last night, I've streamed friendlies at www.twitch.tv/bestrin and there will be more to come. The audio from last night was **** because the streaming was impromptu and I didn't bring a decent mic.

Are you going to summercon? I heard they were looking for a streamer and I really want them to have one so I can get a streamed MM vs denti or oracle if they show up

Baton Rouge isn't bad of a drive, so if things run smoothly at GC and if I can get committed commentators, then sure!

I really don't mind who commentates as long as they're confident and presentable. If anybody wants to try their hand at it today, I'll be at the Calm in a few.

Also if anybody is coming but hasn't left yet, I'm one USB-headset short for the day. Only have one mic.

Our Fgc guys have streaming equipment we use to stream smash. I would love any extra setups though.

As for commentators as long you know the game well enough.

We will try to give every game some time on stream.

Thanks everyone who showed up today, Golden Chariot is gonna be awesome and I cannot wait!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much @ Bestrin Bestrin for bringing your stream setup today and to lend your services for the tournament!

Guys who didn't make it tonight, sux2bu this place is big, spacious, has 2 projectors, and the pics on facebook don't do it justice.

And we now have a dedicated Twitch channel for our state's tournies, http://www.twitch.tv/louisianasmash. Simple enough right?

Somebody, I don't know. Turns out, we are actually using http://www.twitch.tv/PandaXGaming for the regular fighting games, but since Panda himself won't be there, we can't commentate on that stream.

But do know that we are taking this pretty seriously, so I'll be hand-picking the commentators myself. You will be representing our state, so I want that hype and salt, but I don't want any nonsense or you're out.

I'd be a hype commentator, people be so quiet when they commentate and don't add no kind of comedy when they are talking

Wish I could make it to the golden chariot. I can only afford one trip down to south LA in the next few weeks, so shrimp+summercon is just a better deal being much closer and being two events.
