I want to go to the FL thing. I've been out of the house for like.. all but two days of the past two weeks, so I'm hoping my mom'll be fine with me taking 5 days out for smash. (I say five because I like 5 better than 4) Me driving probably wouldn't fly, but I'll see if I can convince her to let me.

What's with everyone saying they need alot of money to go?
Hotel, food, fun, etc. Florida is expensive even though it's obviously one of the best states in existence. I really wanna go to that tourney too, hopefully I will have enough money. I'll probably end up staying at a motel 6 or something. Oh and lil heads up to the under 21 folk that wanna party in FL: DON'T USE A FAKE ID!!! Seriously, you will get arrested unless you altered your state ID to make it appear that you're 21. Also don't drink and drive in FL either. Cops have nothing to do because of the low crime rate, so they will pull your *** over and give you a DUI with the swiftness. In case you haven't guessed already, I'm from Florida. Just giving a disclaimer from experience.

Edit:
Just thought I'd read the Gameware tourney info and saw "Our worst smash player: Battousai. Made me chuckle.

Didn't they say that there are facilities to sleep at? Also, I don't find that funny. They're just jealous. :/

So I found out that the Gameware tourney is in BR not Laffayette . . . >_> So ah yeah. I'm guessing it's Brawl only . . . Are people meeting up later to play some melee cause if so I'm going to try to go. Don't really feel like paying for 60 miles worth of gas just to be bored after three matches. <_<

Wow... try living in Texas where most everything is atleast 60 miles away. I mean I would have gone if it weren't on a friday and I would have to drive a couple hours to get there from Monroe.........

lol you live in flower mound. That's a queer name

j/k

I actually know a chick from there, and she's pretty hot. I give her **** for the name all the time though ;) And eyah, I now how far Texas is. A friend of mine wanted to go to Texas Tech to see the OU vs TT game, but couldn't cause it'd take him longer to drive from OK to TT to Houston than from OK to Houston. And by longer I mean like 5 hours longer not an hour longer. SO yeah, y'all's state should be like 9 states. So get to it. <3 tx

And sounds liek a plan Sudai. If all goes well, me and my crew mate will make it up there. (but why no tourney son weekends >_>)

Actually I live in West Monroe now just haven't changed it yet. And Texas Tech isn't exactly on the way to Houston either. I went there for four years, so I'd hope I knew that by now.

Anyway my point was that its not really that far, and you seem to be one of the brawl haters or atleast dislike it enough to call it boring. I don't think I've ever gotten bored playing people in Brawl. Too much new stuff that could happen. I could be bias about the gas though since I'm a Petroleum Engineer lol!

pssh, I wouldn't mind working 7 to 5 every weekday if it meant I could get a car and drive out to tournaments in BR whenever I wanted. :(

Well, its just that brawl is like, really simple, theres really not much new stuff that could happen hah its the simplified with different characters.

Not hating on brawl or anything, i enjoy playing a few games, but not as much as i enjoy the dept of melee :d

Anyway, i dont think im going saterday : / i have a four hour defensive driving class in the day but if im done my then, ill prolly show up.

So anyone else love Louisiana Legislature?

Ok so the LA legislature just passed a bill nearly doubling their own salary.

Highest paid government body in the south now. Funny, because I cant drive down these crap roads without popping a tire, 65% of our schools are under national standards, 2nd in the country in poverty, our own APSB super indent lied about EAHS composite scores to strengthen the DTHS rezoning argument, many many water systems are years behind inspection, and a city council man in NO stole $600,000 from government charity. And now we the people have to pay those slimy *******s even more instead of fixing our own almost incurable problems. ****ing wow.

and is it surprising? absolutely not. As a fellow LA native, I am sure you are aware of our history of FILTHY politics. Hell, Louisiana could have been home to Disney World if our politicians werent such greedy (and dumb) creatures. You talk about the streets in BR, try driving in New Orleans on a regular basis. Its literally PATHETIC. Louisiana politicians have the worst logic and priority organization I have ever seen, but the thing is, every election is based on "changes" that never happen. It is a shame for Southeastern LA to be what it is, because the potential is so high. THat my friends, IS WHY I HATE POLITICS IN GENERAL.

I lived about 15 minutes outside of NO and frequented NO until about three years ago. I know how bad it was and I've been a few times recently (this entire past weekend actually). Oh, and I know there are a lot of things wrong with LA Politics, hell, there's so much wrong with politics in general, but this is just the thing that tweaked a nerve this time.

Government: ****ing great idea on paper. ****ing horrible idea in practice.

this is a bad reason for hating 'politics.' hating politicians is different, and i use politics as a very lose term. as they stand, they suck; but government of some type is necessary and i think it's better to strive to change the system rather than boycott things. this is something ive struggled with for a while.

on a completely different note; i usually log on to IGS (pandanet; internation Go server), and watch pro games while i wait for someone to challenge me. i say usually but i started that today lol. i got challenged by a 7dan player with a 9 stone handicap. i got destroyed. i resigned like 4 minutes into the game. the different in skill was overwhelming. i couldnt imagine 2 players playing on such a high level. it must be so pro.

Go is awesome.

I suppose that's where my point of view comes into play. How do you know Brawl is simple and not deep? I started playing melee a year after it came out, and most of the advanced tactics used now weren't even invented until about a year and a half later. I don't know how long you played, so I'm not saying you didn't know this. However we aren't even a year into Brawl. There's no way we know everything there is to know about the game including how simple or deep it is. Melee was awesome. Heck it was 6 years of awesome, but it was time for something new. I won't ever stop playing melee forever, but I'd like to get good and explore the possibilities of Brawl before I go back to playing it.

Whatever, it just boils down to being my opinion I guess.....

I have all the BoF games. Most of them are pretty good except probably the last one for PS2 called Dragon Quarter. The only problem I have with them is that once you get to a certain point in the game near the end there is basically no direction, and its kinda hard to figure out what to do next. Especially when you start playing after taking a few years off lol.....

Jon, SEX WIF *******!!!

If you're really looking for some good RPGs, you're gonna have to bite the bullet and shell out some dough for some PS1 classics. SNES just didn't have it like Playstation. I mean they had Chrono Trigger, FF1-6, Secret of Mana (you should find a translated version of the JPN only sequel for SNES), BoF, and SMRPG. The rest were mostly meh to me, I didn't even really enjoy the FFs on SNES that much even though some people find that blasphemous. But if you have about and extra 2 bills, PS1 has some gold.

I've been playing Streets of Rage 2 for Sega Genesis. I absolutely love the music.
Generic Batto insult.
