So me and Eman just got back from the tournament and here's how it went:
When we got there, there was like 20+ people there signing up. (Btw me and Eman know the TO) I saw the menu and there were four controllers already pluged in. I thought I signed up but I signed the wrong sheet. Anyway, while everyone was playing the gay tournament with items, 5 lives, random teams doubles, single elimination, and any stage, I was playing random friendlies on the side with my own setup (I keep an emergency smash setup in my car at all times. A Wii, cords, TV, brawl, and two controllers). After the dumb tournament was over some guy yelled out,"Ok can we play a tournament that's FAIR now?!" At that point me and Eman took over and made a bracket with the Apex 2013 rulesheet. I went all the way to grand finals. Eman played this guy who I'll talk about later in losers finals and GF ended up being me vs Eman. I won and we just did a bunch of friendlies after that. Lol the whole time they kept on calling the other tournament "The gay tournament" and stuff like that right in front of the TO lol.
Ok now for the guy I met. There was this Mario main names Chris who made me and Eman actually try to beat him. His spot dodges where really on point and and his DI was amazing. And he was doing advanced stuff like using aireals off the ledge instead of get up attack and stuff. The dude was always living until like 190-200! I'd 3 stock him with MK, 2 stock him with Falco, and he'd take me to last stock with Pika.
Anyway I got the dude's info and I'm gonna bring him to Ed and see how he does then. The dude has mad potential and he said he was interested.
All in all, my goal at this tournament was to derail the gay item tournament and try to get people interested in real smash and I did. I introduced new people to the competitive scene and got to spank some nubs XD.
