Ashley's Gold model... is a bit too detailed for a single minigame, specially since she is the only character that has a 3D model in the whole game. It also has the same "cartoon-anime" look that Peach and Rosalina have in Smash...

To be honest I'm sure we would all be happy with Ashley's appearance in smash.

Sakurai is extremely dedicated to properly representing characters. Even when he does take some creative liberties, he never oversteps his boundaries.

WarioWare Gold Ashley, the new design has really grown on me after seeing it in 3d.

Definitely a mix, give the Smash 4 model red eyes.
But if I had to choose than the Wii U model, I could live with black eye Ashley.
I really do like the Gold model though, it's adorable.

I would go with the gold one, simply because its the latest iteration of the character. I know that's not really how the designs are chosen, but that's my favorite right now.

However I do think that the smash 4 one is more likely, especially since Golds Ashley most likely did not have a completed 3d design yet when the roster was supposedly finalized.

I know a few people are partial to Smash 4's model but after seeing them side by size it feels like a massive quality upgrade to me, even from a 240p 3DS screenshot.

I like the Smash 4 design quite a bit. It's got her classic shoes and leggings and I like the compromise of having her eyes turn red for specials. Her proportions are also closer to an older Ashley than the Gold one. Plus she better matches Toon Link with the simple black eyes and that's definitely the connection I want fan artists to make.

My dream would be a detailed Ashley like my avatar tho.

Does anyone have any clue as to why 4chan seems to have massive hate base for Ashley being in the game? It's almost to the point of being obsessed with her themselves.

I actually like Wario Gold's design except I prefer Smash 4's face. The eyes can be red and give her stockings and maybe a bit taller and that'd be good. I always thought the Smash 4 model is a bit awkward with its proportions.

Also the 3DS model is detailed because the game she is in isn't resource intensive and I imagine it is just because of the close up in the title screen. Might even have two variants on the same model for gameplay and for cutscenes/closeups. Smash 4 on the 3DS does that and switches them out to the better looking models when the game is paused.

But no, the model isn't because they made the same model to use in Smash Bros. The model would have fewer polygons than the characters in Smash Ultimate. It'd also be missing some features that models in Smash Ultimate has such as some lighting effects and textures.
If they remade Mario's model then I guarantee you Ashley (and every newcomer for that matter) is also getting an original model.

One of the things that bugs me the most about the Gold design is she lost her sweeping fringe. Now it's just regular anime fringe with a cowlick on one side.
