OoT Is Now 10 Years Old, The Same Age As My Fish Before He Died

Today the whole Zelda community celebrates a very important event. Today, 23rd November, 2008, we officialy celebrate the 10th anniversary of Ocarina of Time, the greatest game of all times (According to the opinion of much, but not some)!
Yurp, you heard me right, we got an anniversary for our beloved game, and WHAT an anniversary.

The whole community marked the event with something special.

The first to mention would be Zentendo releasing a 44 minute video starring Navi (speaking in a cute, not-annoying Japanese voice) telling about OOT, giving an overview, tips, tricks and an overall walkthrough for the first part of the game.

Heres a version with English subitles:

http://www.zentendo.com/news.php?newsId=1663

The next to be mentioned would be an interesting interview with Eiji Aonuma, download scans here:

http://www.thehylia.com/index.php?subactio..._from=&ucat=26&

And finally, Wikipedia had Ocarina of Time as a featured article.

And of course you should surf around all of the Zelda sites around to find more.

This is trully a happy day for me, you since you visited ZL and the whole Zelda community.

To me, when I first played this game, it felt the story mode was so long. Then after I played Twilight Princess then this again, it felt short. And has it been ten years already that this game has came out. O_o

ocarina of time was the best zelda game, period. I hate what they've done to link now though (toon link). Why do that?

I remember when I was an exchange student to the US, my older friend first showed me this game, and this was the first Zelda game I've ever played. I enjoyed every last bit of it.

This game... I can't say anything about its greatness that hasn't been said already a thousand times over. For me personally, it set my standards for greatness in a game. I've played it through so many times, I was actually able to draw a map of the forest temple by hand on the fly for a friend who was stuck, and then proceeded to follow through the entire dungeon's progression for them till we found what they missed. I could probably do the same for most of the game. I've played through it more than any other game, to the point where I'm on an extended hiatus from it until it can be fresh again. Then, I retry Master Quest.

That second picture is actually from Majora's Mask, a game I thoroughly enjoyed more than OoT.
I'm going to assume you meant that third picture, because the first one didn't load for me originally (Of Link getting attacked)

And if you actually mean the picture of Link with the Triforce, that's using a Gameshark code to play Link in the middle of the cinematic from the Deku Tree when he is explaining the roles of the gods.

The third one is a Kokiri Forest screenshot that's using a popular Hi-Res texture pack. All three screenshots are from Ocarina of Time. If you're going to try and correct somebody with nerdom, you should do so correctly. ;)

Anyways, I've been playing Zelda since the NES. My favorite is Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. I miss when Zelda games were challenging.

But for the record, both Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time are awesome.

Nice try, but Im fully aware of the fact that you edited it out. It was a picture of Link holding a dog above his head near a deku scrub talking about the deku scrub(I could be gay and turn on MM and find out the exact line he says but Im lazy) That happens in South Clock Town in Majora's Mask when you lift the dog there while wearing the Mask of Truth. It cannot happen in OoT ever. Im sure you probably know more about Zelda than I do, but don't assume that means I don't know my ****.

Yea Ummm i know your new here, but the topic of this thread is REALLY OLD. The fact that you posted it in 2009 could make it 11...well technically 10 still but then in November its 11.

It's the first 3D Zelda....

Anyway, OoT is better than 90% of the big blockbuster games to follow after it.
Note I didn't play any 3d zeldas until the WindWaker came out.
So out of 3.. yah..

I basically borrowed it from my cousin and got hooked. I think it was the collectors disc on the gamecube too so that made it better seeing as I played Majoras Mask (But never beat it) RIGHT after I beat that game. 'Twas fun :D

I never really played this game properly...

Is it downloadable, like online?

I feel like I have missed an integral part of my life as a legend of zelda game lover

Of course I'm no fanatic, but they are some of the best games out there.

Personally, while I did enjoy OoT, I liked Majora's Mask better.

The people with Square are always talking about remaking Final Fantasy 7 with better graphics...

Why not have Nintendo remake Ocarina of Time with improved graphics? Maybe with some additions to it as well (Personally I would like the see the ball and chain added, that is my favorite weapon in Twilight Princess)

Ocarina of Time is one of the greatest games I have ever played. It never got old, even after collecting all the skultulas (or Skulltulas) three times around.

The only Zelda game that comes close in my opinion is A Link to the Past.
