Hi.

My friend forgot his account, so he asked me to ask you guys critique for these matches:

Hmm... Your buddy seems to have a fairly good understanding of Kirby's moveset! Although, it seems he has also developed a few habits, too. I'd advise to mix it up! For example, he seems to like to approach by rolling into his opponent a lot; as well as rolling away a lot. Rolling away is generally safer but rolling in is a big risk, especially against Yoshi, who should have used more pivot grabs. Try holding shield longer, jumping out of the situation, attacking out of shield, just to mix things up because you don't want your opponent to figure you out. Also, he seemed to want to fish for kills when the opponent is at high percentage. I'd say to keep a cool head in that scenario and patiently find your opening to strike. I know it's hard and we Kirbies sometimes tend to fish cause we have no reliable KO setups. It happens to the best if us but just stay aware not to fish 'cause you'll take unnecessary damage because of it. Another big piece of advice would be to practice power shielding. Power shielding projectile based characters helps a lot in trying to shut down their keep away game. Above all, when trying to remain unpredictable, you also want to find out your opponents habits. This is important! You'll want to slowly change your play style a bit to counter your opponent! When trying to change up your options take note on how your opponent reacts to your option so that next time when you're in the same position you can punish them for it!

Note: When I say "you", or whatever,I'm referring to your Kirby buddie. You know what I mean, right? To lazy to change all that.

-------------------------------------

Gohan-San, I'll critique you soon, I promise! But for now, I'd say it's better to Up-B onto the ledge 90% of the time. It's safer~

Zzzz...

Im a scrub, plz criticize hard!

vs :peach:(I was playing pretty slow and unsafe here)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QeStTCaq6vI

vs :zerosuitsamus:(Probably one of my better matches, but lots of mistakes were still made)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFtJLC0ANRU

Edit: My bad! Didn't know the videos were private. They should be good now.
I'm not sure about critiquing the first video since you said you played pretty bad and I'm sure you can spot where you could have improved~

Anyway,

Gohan, your Kirby is really great! I'm not sure about how much I can tell you to improve on. Any mistakes that you did, as far as I can tell, were wifi related. At this point, all I can say is try not to commit to a hard punish too much unless you have prerequisite knowledge of a habit (ie. trying to smash attack an air-dodge landing). From here it's all about sharpening your decision making skills. Ummm... Pretty much it just seems you just need more experience to also sharpen your match-up knowledge.

Vs Zero Suit, try not to roll in. There's only a small niche that rolling in has vs Zero Suit. That is pretty much only when she side-B's AND when you can space it so you roll behind her. Crouching is beautiful vs Zero Suit because you can duck dash attack, jab and her grab. Which in turn, can force her to start doing side-b/down smash. Also, armor pieces... Everyone will tell you to just toss 'em out. I'll say it, too. Even though I consider myself very good with items. Just toss em out... (>.<) When getting hit by strings at low percents just try to SDI up and away to minimize damage at this point. Try to stay grounded often because ZSS beats us in the air. Space yourself away from her aerials and burst range of her second jumps.

Keep it up man, DAS is a good wifi player and Zero Suit is a tough match-up~

I need some Tips.
(and yeah its Wifi. :< )
Damn button-mashing, shuttle-looping, down smashing wifi Meta Knights getting wins without even a lick of thought process. >_>

Gaah, lemme at 'im!

Ah-hem, anyway, hah, sorry! Rant aside, I saw that you did a lot of unnecessary smash attacks where a grab or tilt would have been more successful--especially at low percents. Also, less B moves (Hammer/Stone/Final Cutter) and more A moves (b-air/tilts). Kirby's special moves have slow start up and/or lot's of cool down. They are mostly used for punishing mistakes or reads. Kirby's tilts and aerials are fast and quick which is a safer way to get rack up damage. The only aerial I would say to be careful of utilizing is d-air because of it's big start up. Anyway, try to implement this to your play for safer outcomes.

Congrats on making it to winners semis~

Mike knows a lot about this.
I sort of know this, but I'll spill it anyway.

Don't bother with Wario's B when at the front. It's better wait for his bite to finish and lead to a punish.
I believe all of wario's aerials are weak to kirby's up-tilt, so if you think he'll try to use down-air or whatever, just give him the kick.

LOS!

I wrote a little post on Wario a while ago somewhere around the boards~

I'll dig it up~
Up tilt, up tilt! :bee:

Here watch this!
Kewkky :kirby: Vs DFat1 :wario:[...]
^^This^^

That's probably the best visual you'll find anywhere on how to play the Wario MU. Kirby's has great anti-air options when Kirby is grounded; U-tilt, short hop u-airs, short hop b-airs but most the the first two options. The reason is that Wario will be approaching by air with n-air and d-air which lose or trade with our u-tilt and we win that trade damage wise. The neutral game is all about who baits who. It's frustrating really. Keep your back aimed at Wario at all times. Also, d-air is a risky move cause Wario has his u-air and it hurts. D-air is only useful for gimping a low recovering Wario, especially, if he decides to use his bike jump. (ex: how you almost took his first stock on the first video.). Hmmm... I'm not sure but I think I used to play S!C back when I used to wifi often.

Basic MU:
U-tilt, u-tilt
Patience...

Fun Fact: You can u-tilt Wario out of his bite. It's great!

When you have an item you can try a jump canceled item toss. I think they call it a boost toss. You basically run and press jump and immediately throw the item in the direction you want. You get a little momentum, it's not a lot but it's lots of fun! As far as what we can do with items... Um... well, I can't teach creativity but when in doubt throw the items up or down. This allows you to control space on a stage. It forces your opponent to either shield or grab the item. You create can create even more pressure on your opponent if you manage to juggle two items above you.

Wow, just realized that it's been over a year and a half since I posted a brawl match. Just goes to show how much Brawl has kinda been outta the picture. Either way I got some vids from a small side Brawl tourney in Eau Claire, WI a couple weeks ago. Got 2nd out of 7 (lol) people.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThzfVVEtXFE - Akiro v Triple R - ECS6 Brawl Singles
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eickvBMHAp0 - Sinnyboo242 v Triple R - ECS6 Brawl Singles, Winners' Finals
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_AV4Rxm7R4 - Sinnyboo242 v Triple R (Kirby) - ECS6 Brawl Singles, Grand FinalsSomehow Losers' Finals doesn't work anymore, which is a shame since it was 3-0 comeback when I was down 0-2.

Oh yeah, then I was at an IA tourney. Got 1st out of 10 - http://i.imgur.com/nHqojUI.png

And I always raided a very noobie brawl tourney at a store. Got $20 eShop gift card :p

Sorry about that. I think it's because the videos have been moved from "Past Broadcasts" to "Highlights." Here are the new links:
