since we got music from 3 that gives me hope that we will see music from 4 8 and 11 if they don't put in 3s battle theme tho i will be upset they better twist that composers arm hard for that music

I've actually seen several Japanese reactions where they loose it over both characters. And in every one of them they knew who it was when the puzzle piece bounced across the floor.

Likewise, I've seen a few English reactions where the people where able to name each of The Heros and were genuinely happy.

Edit: In fact I'm finding the Japanese are more likely to start singing Banjo's theme :D

Thanks! I barely understand a word that's being said (I can pick up on a few words here and there, like "Yuusha" meaning Brave/the hero, and "hakuba" meaning white horse, which I know due to One Piece), but I can still tell how excited/giddy the person in the first video is about seeing the Dragon Quest heroes in Smash. It really puts things into perspective - it's like how some English reaction videos react to the Banjo reveal.

And because of that, SE probably wanted a ton put in to promote the series in the West.

Im currently watching Japanese reaction videos for The Hero, it's pretty much a reverse from western reaction.

People lose their minds at The Hero (btw his name literally translates to Brave on the Japanese website)
And it's typically just...."meh" at Banjo, even saw one guy give a confused "Who?"

It's actually amazing how we still got hyped and surprised despite us expecting Dragon Quest being in Smash. Like six months of Erdrick rumors and we still cheered for him showing up. Amazing

Anyway, while I was not hyped at first, I'm definitely happy of their inclusion, one of my best bud is a huge Dragon Quest fan and when I told him that Dragon Quest was coming to Smash he just said "I think I'll get the switch".

Best thing for me is the inclusion of the hero from DQ8, it's the one that I know the most (like the majority in the west). I wanted him or the guys from Monsters Joker

A good surprise, I'll definitely play him.

My dearest congratulations to you all sticking through and through to this day! It would have been unheard of more than a half year and before back, but to see Dragon Quest represented like this is a really sweet joy.

Been more or less rolling around the Banjo-thread as you might expect, but I'll be real here, seeing Eight join the roster along other Heroes has me really pick him up as a swell secondary. Really loved DQ8 a long while back on my PS2.

Kinda bumming female alts weren't given a pass here though. I have no idea why that even happened here, considering how some of the also represent good deal of DQ's history and their fanbases (3 and 4)

When the trailer first started, I got pessimistic and thought Shadow/Dark Marth was Byleth for a split second. When I realized the truth I knew it was leading up to DQ. The galloping horse showing up confirmed it and I was stoked as ****. SOlo and Eight are a surprise.

I'm greatly upset at the lack of the FemAlts, though. I feel its a huge missed opportunity. My only hope now is the near non-existent chance that "Heroine" is a bundled Echo. By far the greatest disappointment I had today. I'll probably just stick to using Erdrick.

Regardless, my DLC predictions are going just as planned. 3/5 in my favor~. Hope I nail this.

As a Simon supporter and the owner of the Simon for Smash thread when he wasn't confirmed yet, i symphatized with DQ Supporters. I was told Simon was "boring" (yes really) and uninteresing, and people slept on him all the time. and yet, it was mostly agreed he was a frontrunner among newcomers.

Come August, he is a legacy Third Party Newcomer confirmed alonsgide a Rare Creation (K.Rool). The same thing happens again today with the Hero and Banjo. History repeats itself.

But now i realize that im really happy to see Sakurai realize and take advantage of the multiple protagonists in Smash by making them Alts, similar as to how Richter is Simon's echo. That way fans of the other main protagonist whose not as popular as the "Main Face" (Simon and Erdrick) can get a bone thrown to them as well.

I lowkey chose Solo.

Both them and Square-Enix, to be accurate. Although SE had the more exciting game reveals, much-needed details for Luigi's Mansion 3 and AC: New Horizons didn't hurt.

Whoa, that Slime controller is tempting. But whyyyy do they have symmetrical sticks? Man. I love the Pro Controller (GCN controller) layout, where the D-Pad is in the secondary position and the stick is in the primary.
