Split with Illamtic? Nice. You should teach me :o

I would use Pit in regular tournament but I feel like it would be a wasted effort since I main Snake and D3. I always found him fun. Plus a close friend of mine/mentor who pushed me to be a solid player mained Pit and taught me "It's about the player and not just the character.

@Krys: I didn't know you use Pit :o
If you ever have any questions just hit me up. I know everything about the character I just don't like typing alot but ill answer questions pretty thoroughly.

Pretty much what I meant. I also believe you can ART from jumping on stage from the ledge which I think would be effective in getting back on the stage.

Angel Ring is pretty risky to use since it can be punished hard. But yes, I believe you can ART onto the stage from the ledge, but you have to be pretty good with the timing to do so.

Also using AR as soon as you hit the ground is a good way to catch opponents by surprise.

I know this is a pretty unnecissary question, but: Is Pit left or right handed? I see many ways that displays him as being left handed, but also many showing that he's right. Just wondering lol xD

guys, I didn't think I should post another thread for this, but I want your honest opinions, just like with Lucario;

What do you think of the Kirby matchup? Is it hard? Do you think it's even? Or Pit's favor? What makes you think these thoughts?

pit is the one of the only people who can force kirby to approach from long distance. he can't just sit there and duck. this means kirby has to approach. as long as you use lots of dtilt and cancel his smashes with WOI and try not to let him get arrows especially if they know how to use them. pits favor 55:45 or 50:50. imo

Pit vs Kirby? 55-45 Kirby's favor. Bair wall's everything we have to approach aside from arrow's, Big Stages help Pit out a lot. FD, and BF are good neutrals. Ban Halberd or Delfino. Some other good stages are rainbow cruise. I took 4 Kirbies there timed them all out.

you really think its in kirby's favor? i mean ya his broken *** grab range is annoying but you shouldn't be letting him bair wall you even at a stage that's small like frigate. if they try to bair wall you full hop rising nair backwards just out his bair's range (this way if they to jump up and bair you as you move back they get hit by nair) and shoot him. and if he gets close to you on the ground or you think your gonna eat a smash do WOI. it will either cancell it or push him to far away to hit the empty space which you are currently floating over. punish accordingly. mayb ill do a kirby write up in my thread.

hmmmmm................

I actually nearly beat chudat in tourney last year. Everything Maharba said is right plus if you gimp all of his jumps away, it's easy to mirror shield a predictable up b since kirby can't grab the ledge while facing the other way like Ike can.

All you have to do is not be predictable enough to get read and grabbed. It's 50-50 imo, but 55-45 if kirby gets your arrows because that is annoying.

now just for the sake of having an opinion to state i will go into semi detail on this MU because i have nothing better to do today.

i personally think you need to shift your numbers by 5 to pit (55:45pit, 50:50 if kirby gets arrow) because even tho he can spam arrows like us if you stay at mid-midclose he does not have a reflector. we have two. plus at that range WOI into spaced fair, dair, or bair follow that up with various tilt/smash (based on landing placement) can pretty much shut him down. be careful of his grab range tho. it is deceivingly HUGE (seriously) and outranges our grab by plenty. however grabs are still important for us to use to get kirby to the edge. while gimping is not usually how you will be killing kirby, do not forget that hes dead if we mirror his UP B. anyways when you have him at the edge that is where you want to keep him as you can keep him pinned there for while with pit's superior edge guarding ability in this MU. anyways that's my 2 cents

The thing about kirby with arrows is that he never had a reflector in the first place so your reflectors shutting down his newly acquired camping ability turns him into a regular kirby while your camping game gets shut down by him having the same ability because Kirby is a small character meaning you have to curve your arrows down to hit him while he can just spam them at you.

actually if you tilt your control stick so that the arrow shoots in a slight downward diagonal line the arrow will always hit his head and since you can buffer another arrow to be drawn back after you release the stick and he is releasing the arrow so can still easily outcamp him you just have to move your fingers a little bit faster

if he camps up high position yourself under him and just to the front so that he can't curve them enough before the arrow hits the stage. if he is camping just off the ledge position yourself 1/4 of the stage inward and buffer arrow pull out of putting away mirror shield which can be angle to deal with his curve game off the edge from that far away. as long as you keep smart and always stay in a good position you will ALWAYS out camp kirby. just be sure to ban yoshis and to counter pick FD, Lylat, Smashville.

Easier way to hit kirby is using your C-stick while shooting an arrow, shoot an arrow buffer a d-smash while shooting it your arrow should bend.

Let me say this again while you're shooting an arrow buffer a d-smash, the d-smash shouldn't come out. The arrow will bend hitting Kirby, Mk, and Pika (while crouching). Don't push c-stick if your Shooting frames are done or you'll really just throw out a d-smash.

Kirby V Pit is SLIGHTLY in

Gasp

Pit's favor

IMO.

But I've played a lot of Kirbys with Wario and know what there are options are there, but I haven't had the pleasure to face a really good kirby in my region with Pit a full set yet. I've faced Chudat and Y.b.M. before, Triple R online.

That buffered dsmash trick while shooting an arrow is so easy to time. Nice Pitzer. It's especially good for shield poking because it aims at your opponent's feet.

first off don't bother trying to use four arrows at once in match unless your hit out of up b and your dying anyways or you kill them and set up as they come back. best way to practice looping is make a giant stage with 2 platforms one in each top corner. then go to training mode with pit as the com and set the com to control and up b all the up under the platform and put him there. then set him to stop. there a giant stretched screen to show you how to move your thumb to get various loops.
