I like "DJ Style Headphones". I don't know specifics about different styles of headphones but they are big with noise cancelling things on them.

I don't like small or thin ones

haha, man. that doser guy is ********.

currently own:
ultrasone hfi-580. really nice sound but i cant wear them for more than ~40 mins at a time because theyre too clampy. they don't play nice with my glasses.
audio technica ckm50. IEMs for on-the-go listening. love these little guys. (thanks mizuki)
koss ur-20. the audio quality on these is laughable. but my god are they comfortable. like two clouds perched upon your ears. so i use these whenever i'm on my computer.

Oh jeeze. I just read through the other thread that Dozer made and I was actually embarrassed READING his posts.

Anyway, I own a pair of low end headphones with a low end microphone attached. Hopefully some day I'll be able to upgrade...

I prefer headsets when using my computer for some reason. I like the microphone. Plus, recently I've been making singing videos for youtube... hehe.

Sure, let's talk about my posts. This thread seems to be dedicated to mocking me anyway.

What were you embarrassed for me about? Does most of smashboards lack reading comprehension?

shut up who cares.

i use sennheiser hd202's. i like them well enough. i like sennheiser in general. i only buy cheap eardbud style headphones because i always end up breaking/wearing those out often and they sound fine for portable listening imo

Yeahhh xD was really close to gettin something by Razer for music/gaming that were slightly inferior to my current set of headphones because Razer makes pretty stuff and my headphones are broken

But I'm gonna wait until I find a really good pair to spend money
(and wait and hope that I win the G4 contest to get a free Razer Tiamat = u=;;;; never gonna winnnnnn)

I recently found out my dollar store sells pretty good headphones for less than 2$. I feel stupid buying headphones for over 15$ from radioshack.

You'd think a dollar store would sell them for a dollar

._. it pains me to read people buying low quality headphones. I seriously know where you can find decent quality headphones in all price ranges.

I should make a comprehensive buying guide for smashboards for all budget ranges so people stop having terrible headphones. <3

Headphones...I hate when one headphone blows out, rendering the headphones 50% usable.

And Skullcandy headphones are aesthetically very good looking...but blow out far too easily.

I think Sony headphones are the best for longevity/quality.

the speaker isnt blowing out. the cable is just damaged. thats why having a detatchable cable is a good thing.

Haha alright mizuki, I have a task for you then! My headphones for the past 2 years have finally departed. Even had a built in radio and that's actually way cooler than it might sound at first. So here's what I'm lookin' for.

  • If it were a headset that'd also be awesome, as this is purely for computer use. Not necessary though, I still have my 1995 HP microphone and it's pro .
  • Keeping outside noise out and inside noise in is important to me.
  • $100 is as high as I'm going :r.

please don't waste your time with something like that. At least Monoprice actually has decent quality headphones for inexpensive. SoundMAGIC, and MEElectronics also have very, very good budget performers.

Their stuff is very highly recommended by the audiophile community I frequent in that price range.

Thanks for the sites Mizuki. Ended up looking at these. The reviews are very convincing, and the headset function is super nice.
http://www.meelec.com/MEElectronics_M11P_In_Ear_Headset_with_Mic_Black_p/earphone-m11p-bk-mee.htm

For anybody wondering, if you get a headset designed for a smartphone like that, you'll end up needing a converter.

http://www.meelec.com/MEElectronics_Skype_Adapter_for_PC_p/adptr-skype-22in-35.htm

So I'm probably going end up getting these two items for Christmas. I really wanted to avoid any of the bluetooth headsets.

Ugh, headphones... I don't think I've ever owned a good pair.
Right now I'm wearing these cheap $20 JVCs, just because I got them for free. They're pretty mediocre and are so clunky they hurt my head. :(
Are there any good store-bought phones? I know they must exist somewhere, just probably not where I am.

Sears has a large selection of decent quality Koss, JVC, and Audio Technica headphones.

Best Buy's music section has Koss, Sennheiser, Pioneer
Best Buy's magnolia section as Bower's & Wilkens, Audio Technica, Pioneer, Sennheiser, Denon, Monster's high-end stuff like Mile's David Tribute/Trumpet, Turbine Pro Copper/Gold.

Has anyone used Beats? I really like the way they look, but not sure if they're worth the $200. (like almost my entire paycheck lmao) sales person at Target recommended the PS3 Pulse for $99, it's a game headset/headphones, also has bluetooth.

But Beats still looks better o.o http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Beats+B...Blue/5667093.p?id=1218677952682&skuId=5667093

These are also awesome looking: http://store.sony.com/p/Sony-X-Headphones/en/p/MDRX10/BLK

If anything, I'd buy the beats or Sony X just for the "auto rich" look :p

So Mizuki: Good sound for good price? Also has to be stylish, budget is $200, possibly pay a little more if it looks nice *cough*beats*cough* Thanks for your help :p

Not headphones, but a speaker: http://www.amazon.com/iHome-iHM61-Changing-Portable-Speaker/dp/B0062W0XD4

I HIGHLY recommend the iHome iHM61 speaker. It's AMAZING, it's small and sounds like it's coming from a stereo. Also has a rechargeable battery that lasts over 10 hours. Bought the older model of it a couple months ago (iHM59) and have also bought one for each of my friends for Christmas. Gave one to a friend already and she loves it, thought it was "adorable" lol.

Beats are good looking, but terrible headphones. Are you looking for something with some extra bass? Unless you plan to use an eq, some headphones provide different benefits.

Eww skullcandy, wasn't planning on it. They look tacky and cheap, lol.

I think I'm gonna save up for the Sony X headphones.

and @Yodery, do you just hate everything mainstream? xD

I can't answer for Yodery, but the Beats are just that bad. They should really be sold at a considerably lower price when you stack up what it gives.

I really don't like how Beats look.

I kind of like stuff that looks ...I'm not sure what the word is. "underground" I guess.

Beats looks like all the new expensive technology these days. Like they are meant to be an apple product or something

I find that look boring

If anyone's looking for stylish headphones that sound great I'd reccomend the v-moda m80s. They sound a million times better than beats and they look great(imo) plus they offer customization. I've had them for almost a year now and they're built like tanks.

I bought some Skullcandy Hesh headphones since I got a gift card for Academy from my uncle. (There's literally nothing there I want/need) They're actually pretty good for the price, at least to hold off until I can save up for some better ones. :3

Also sound better than most of the displays I tried out at Target. Has pretty good Bass, the deeper techno-pop type songs with lot's of bass sound amazing on them. (specifically Selfish by Britney Spears)

o: Muse also sounds great.

Eww skullcandy, wasn't planning on it. They look tacky and cheap, lol.
Like I said, I wasn't planning on it. :p

The white ones look pretty nice though

Beats are the macs of headphones.

On another note, I'm planning on buying an actual good pair of headphones. The thing is, it's got to be under $150 (I'm poor). Can I get any recommendations? Right now I'm looking at ATH m50s.

My Audio Technica headphones were the best until they died. ;-;

Right now, I'm using some Urbanears that I got on sale, they're surprisingly nice.
