Think it's a good idea? The Link boards are doing it, why shouldn't we? Besides, the Ganon boards is close to dead, this might give us something to talk about.

How is this calculated?

1.) Placements in tournaments/online tournaments.
2.) Amount of skill shown in videos.
3.) Amount of knowledge known about Ganon.

How can you improve your rank?

1.) Challenge a player for their rank, in a best of 5.
2.) Post videos of yourself fighting a "good" player.

Post here if you want your name to be added.

The list will not remain the same.

Might as well make it a ladder type thing while your at it, where you can challenge the person above you for the next spot.

It's Prince, you son of a *****. :)

Good list, but didn't K Prime beat you yesterday?

I want to be top 10. I will gladly challenge anyone else in High Tier to achieve this. Any takers? I'm looking at you, A2ZOMG.

Throw me down to Low High I haven't done any sort of things in tournaments but I think I have at pretty good understanding of Ganon. I'm pretty good with Ganon, but I don't think I'm that good to warrant that HIGH of a place.

Also if these colorations mean anything about which Ganon we use. Put me at Red.

Put me up :)

I play Smurfydorf. I haven't played much of you guys here recently. Ray last time we played I just picked up the game so it's different now lol. When I played Kosk I was stoned (yes that's my John lol). Actually the last time I played anyone from the Ganon boards it was Gleam were I won the majority our Ganon ditto matches (I so wanna play you more too Gleam XD ). I guess this means I should play more of you, eh?

The Tournies I go to are just small tournies at like Gamestop's, Gizmo's, etc. There I hold out alright the the storm of high-ters come running throw and knock me out. Last tourney I went to was at Gizmo's where I placed 12th out of 36. There hasn't been a tourney around here in soooo long :(

I'm maining Ganondorf now and will probably go to Gigabits and get own but I think I deserve the bottom tier for myself seeing how I've been fairing. :chuckle:
Also I don't play online, lag is always terrible and moving the stick and seeing Ganon move a second later makes me shiver at the thought of a tournament online

I'd like to be in top tier, I'll fight anyone to prove it. My creds:

1st out of 31 in Fantastic Four tournament (Only the bottom four characters: CF, Ganon, Link, and Jiggz--all of whom are bad matchups for Ganon, might I add)

1st out of 23 in an Animal-only tournament (Yes, I convinced them that Ganon is an animal--remember the end of OoT and TP?)

5th of 29 in my last Chicago in-person tourney (first in-person tourney in which I decided to main Ganon, ironically my best placing out of all of my in-person tourneys)

I'm considered by most to be the best player in my clan, Brigade of Warriors, with over 30 active members.

I don't think Ganon mirrors are an extremely accurate gauge of skill, nor do I fight a lot of good Ganons, but I know I'm about even with ZeonStar when we do mirrors. Here's a replay from our most recent set: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juSo0EVdTds

I'm reluctant to put my combo video up since it is so outdated. The more I watch it, the more I cringe at how much worse I was than I am now. Here it is if you're interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fV3TCX_S8pE The beginning part is just for the lulz, BTW.

I also put several matches on my Youtube page, though a lot of those are horribly outdated as well.

Anyways, talk is for the weak. If you want to test me, go ahead... just don't underestimate me just because I'm not a very active poster on these boards. I'm very skilled and knowledgeable with Ganondorf.

From those videos, I'd say you're about high. Zeonstar has done (and proved) a lot better then that.

Though, I'll let other Ganon mains rate you aswell. I'll put you at high for now.

its like DLA said, Ganonmirros are not saying which ganon is better. (Sry me english is poor but i try my best)

If u can fight really good in Mirrors, it doesnt bring anything to you if u dont have experience in matches with bad matchups (ok ganondorf has nearly only bad matchups)

And if a combo vid whatever counts a bit for the skill that look (its just a trailer the real combo vid will come in 2-3 months)

http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=ftMIZGa4vjU&fmt=18

Oh and i am in the best German clan its called "Critical Touch"

We got a short vid from us, the last 3 combos are from me

http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=_8EBr9qLH98&fmt=18

here are 3 vids from me, very actual maybe u can see there which skill i got
x)

Its kinda bad that i am from Germany, the delay is bigger from USA to europe so i cant say im am better or worse than any other guy if i win/lose (i had some matches with DLA they were really good, he won the most ones too)

And i saw "Izaw" at the Link Boards Tier list, too, and he is german, too. and i really dont think that he played vs US Links w/e with his link at tourneys

Maybe i will get higher than i at first thought

(again sry for my horrible english xD)

and i can say that DLA is very nice at techchasing, i never saw anybody with a feeling for this, like him.

This idea is gonna catch fire on the other boards. Just watch.

I lurk the Ganon boards and have a good Ganon my self. I don't care where you put me just slap me on there. I use Grandfather white beard Ganondorf color.

I agree about Zeon, he beat me pretty bad in a few games as well. That's why I said that mirrors aren't a great measure of someone's skill. High seems fair for now though, I'll try to work my way up.

I am against the factor of online tournaments. First of all - WiFi sucks. It's just a fact and anybody should be able to see it as such. Lag can screw you over a lot, and getting used to lag doesn't necessarily make you a better player. In fact, it can make you a worse player offline if you play anticipating lag.

This is also the reason why some people won't join online tournaments. Not participating in online tournaments doesn't make you a worse player - if we'd really take into account online tournaments, ZeonStar would be placed higher than Koskinator... Even though virtually everyone will agree this is total blasphemy.

Ditto's don't mean a lot either, as explained by stRip. Skill shown in combo video's shouldn't also mean anything, since those are just your best moments put into one video.

What should only matter is:

1. OFFLINE Tournament rankings.
2. Knowledge about Ganondorf.

As for my own defense so that I may stay in top tier: I have been here since the very beginning and arguably have the most knowledge about Ganondorf, aside from a couple others here and there. My tournament placing might not be the best, but I do have SOME tournament placing... Unlike some that I can see in high.

Oh, skill shown in video's shouldn't mean much either: don't forget that not everybody has recording equipment... Or skilled opponents. Honestly, 3-stocking a noob and recording it doesn't make you any better.

I think this is a fun idea, but this is just some input to try and improve it. Disregard it if you wish.

Also, Baker - nobody except Sliq uses Greenondorf... He's just really ugly. He had a kickass green color in Melee though, Greenondorf in Melee all the way.

BTw could I have red for my Ganon, it's the only color for my Ganon. Everyone in my friendlies know I prefer red team when I'm playing Ganon. anyone else I use other colors but Ganon is red just for me in brawl.

But, I may change it around due to Flying Dutchman's opinion of it.
Flying Dutchman said that only OFFLINE Tournaments should count

but WiFi in the same country/Region is ok i think the delay isnt that big

In germany there were a lot of tourneys, at the moment i think reaper is the best german brawl gamer

He wins all online Tourneys

and he was in Cologne at a Tourney and won there too

Just something what i wanted to say.

Haha this may be to specific but Best Down B spiker, i really havent seen many ganons use this to much but there were a couple months where i got it down pretty good

evidence (WARNING ALOT OF PEOPLE DONT LIKE THIS VIDEO) i really want to edit the majority of the Ganon punches out and add more combos.. but the down B spikes are kinda nasty, if you can sit through the G punches...

search in youtube, Ganondorf murder and my video should come up first, but like i said its old footage and ive already been flamed for the g punches...

I respectfully disagree with your view about online tournaments. It is true that they should carry less weight than offline tournaments, for the reasons you described.

But the fact of the matter is, good players will always tend to do well in online tournaments. And since I'm willing to bet that not many of us have the means to play in many offline tournaments, and even fewer of us are able to meet up with other good Ganon mains in any other way except through Wifi, I think that online tournaments are a pretty valid way of ranking the online Ganon community.

My bad. Didn't read the OP thoroughly.

Be forewarned, this may become a popularity contest, as what happened with our own tier list a couple months ago.
