Katie, I'm telling you, if you want to get a stick modded, I'm going to get my plexi + art print done soon, so if you make up your mind, we can combine shipping. :p

I'm just curious, buying a new plexi isn't required for an art mod, right?
I was confused when I was looking through the site.

Anyway, I'm probably going to try to replace the art tomorrow! Does anyone have any tips?
Doing the art mod requires more patience than changing the buttons. Take it slow, especially when you're cutting. Don't forget to put the screws back in before you apply the art (for the SE, anyway), because I made that mistake, and had to rip the art off and start over. :urg:

I probably won't get a plexi, but Simon might, for his TE. Maybe if I get a TE or a HRAP 3... sigh...

Nah, you don't need one, they're just really pretty. And durable.

Now I realized why I was confused. Mine is an HRAP2 SA which actually came with a plexi glass cover, so I won't need to buy another one. I forgot that the TEs and stuff didn't have them. Maybe I'll think about getting artwork done for my HRAP. I just need to get money for it since I'm low on cash.

Well, five more days until release in the US. I'll definitely be using Rachel, Ragna, Tsubaki at the start until I unlock Mu. Then I'll narrow it down to 2 characters hopefully and just work my way from there.

I'll be picking it up on the first day, so we can have that release party.

Rachel is the first character I'll use, I'll try to use Lambda and Mu. If Platinum get's to be a playable character soon, I'll mostly use her and Rachel.

So beat the game with every character? Yeah, I'll pass.

I HATE unlocking characters. I never unlocked Seth in vSF4.

Umm, apparently there's going to be DLC that enables you to unlock Mu for a small fee.

At least that's what I've heard

Thanks! I'm actually probably going to do it tomorrow.

Should I cut out the button holes before or after I apply the art? By that I mean should I cut them out before I apply it and the upper plate is still unscrewed (after I trim the edges), or should I take out the innards and cut out the holes after I screw it in?

What are the conditions for unlocking Mu?
Beat the True Ending of story mode.

I'm so hyped for the 27th.

...or the 28th if it doesn't ship until the next day.

Edit: Wow, epic lag for this post, SWF. How did it take 30 minutes to post this? XD

I would recommend taking the metal plate off entirely (which you'll have to do anyway), and taking all of the old buttons out, but make a note of which buttons are which (or, to be more precise, which wires go with which button). Clean off any gunk or whatever left by the old art. I suggest Goo-Gone or something similar. Take your art, and an x-acto knife or whatever, and cut off the outside trim. Put the screws back in the front plate. I would cut out one button-hole for reference, then peel/glue/stick your art onto the plate. Cut out the rest of the holes. When you're cutting out the button-holes they don't have to be perfect, but check and double-check that everything is lined up properly. Then put everything back together. Art first, then buttons and whatnot.

Just remember that the art is the most time-consuming and requires the most patience. I used lami-label, which worked wonders, but it is pretty tiring on your hand cutting it out.

Good luck!

edit: That is a fine-looking stick, Kuraudo. :3c

Ah! Many thanks! I wanted to put the official text placement of it being a Tournament Edition, but that would have covered Ragna's head.

And I should put in the button placings like the X and O button and whatnot. I'll spruce it up again later. I'll show the Jin one I've got planned too in a bit!

For any of you who are interested in how to defeat story mode, or to beat story mode just to get Mu, here it is. (From Dustloop.)

Story Mode summary:
-You start story mode with only Ragna's story available.
-The stories for the other characters are unlocked by getting the Clear End from another character's story.
-None of the story paths require astral heat or time up wins.
-You also don't have to lose every god**** fight to get 100%, in fact you don't have to lose unless it leads to another ending.
-Every character besides Haku=men has three endings. The three endings are True, Alternate, and Joke. Alternate endings are also accompanied by a "Help me Doctor Kokonoe" segment after the ending for the character. Haku=men only has two because he didn't feel like having a joke ending. For whatever reason Hazama has to get his Alt ending and his Kokonoe skit seperately.

Unlockables:
-Get a clear/true ending for every character's story to unlock the True Story mode.
-Clearing True Story unlocks Mu, her stage, and her theme Sword of Doom for the other modes.
-100% a character's story mode to get the interview with their voice actor. You can also get interviews with Kokonoe, Relius Clover, Jubei, Makoto, Valkenhayn, and Platina they unlock along with some characters and as you get the last couple stories 100%'d.
-Getting 100% on every story unlocks an interview with Toshimichi Mori.
-Interviews are found in the gallery by pressing R1 and scrolling down to the last option.
-MU DOES NOT HAVE A STORY MODE

Tip:
If you are going for unlocking Mu in a hurry just shoot for doing all the First paths listed. They will get you a clear for every character and get you that True Story unlocked

I may not be using Jin, but his character artwork is so much better then the Ragna one. I'll have to spruce up the Ragna one with the same stuff like buttons and stuff.

First Draft of my stick art. Note: It's way higher res on the actual things, so ignore minor blurriness issues. Oh, and ignore the selection box, I just did a quick print screen. xD

Opinions? I'm completely able to move stuff around, input and suggestions would be great.

I really like it actually. If the quality is high when it's done, it'd be one sexy BlazBlue fight stick. Honest perspective. Though... What's with the corners? They look awkwardly cut off in circles. At least, to my vision. :o

The circles are actually intended, though I agree that they do look slightly out of place. I'm building off a template I got from dustloop.

Ah, right. Sorry, didn't recognize the Hori design for a second there /scrub here, lol/

That looks MUCH better!! I like it without the borders on it.

Would red and green buttons seem like a bit much, and a little like Christmas? XD I'd go with black/vermillion, in the end.

[EDIT]

Also, this is totally going into my Ragna combo video when I put it together,

This or another version. Don't know what.

8.5 is a respectful score, but for all the good that he talked about it... Meh. Super Mario Galaxy 2 was a bunch of the same stuff from before, but it got a perfect score. Rule of thumb, at least, in my opinion. Don't give sequels special treatment in reviews; for better or for worse. If something is the same kind of quality game as before, give it that rating in the past. If it did worse, then go lower. If it did better? Rank it higher.

Sequels shouldn't be knocked just for bringing the same/familiar stuff from before. If a sequel does that but adds MORE, that makes it a better game in most cases anyway, right?

I'd give BlazBlue a 9.3/9.5 out of 10. For the price and DLC that's coming in the future, not to mention the rebalancing patch to compensate for introducing new fighters amongst an established balanced cast, that's the kind of score I would have expected. Truthfully, at least. Too bad that the sales might get their ***** kicked in North America because it's up against StarCraft II on the same day.

...stupid StarCraft and the appeal of being destroyed by Koreans.

I think BB is the kind of game that you already knew you were going to get regardless of what else is released, so I don't see SC 2 hurting it too much.

And Makoto's astral: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcBDEfxvfi0

edit: Makoto reminds me a lot of Jam from GG.
She looks like a lot of fun. I sincerely cannot wait 'til she becomes available.

Edit: Astral Finish=Big Bang Upper on 'roids.

Insert video here. hahaha oh wow
In the words of dubbed Bang: "OH MYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY."

(Yet another) Edit:

@ Kuraudo:

Noooooooooooooooooo.

If you're going to put anything Castlevania in your Ragna video, hop on over to OC Remix and download "The Accursed Seal" by Sixto Sounds. It is a very, very epic remix of the Castlevania 2 Daytime Street theme and the Castle theme. http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01904/
