Im surprised to see that Snake's N-air hasnt been mentioned. Its probably the best edge guarding move there is from all the powerful multi hit attacks just from that one move, and it knocks them away far. Its definitly noteworthy.
Snake's aerials are all bad.

They're not useless, but bad.

They aren't useless because they pack some power, but they are very bad because they are easily punished. Yeah, this is the one area where Snake sucks really. Along with his recovery which is the most easily intercepted non-tether if put in a bad position.

Like srsly Snake's air game is like as bad as Ganondorf's. I mean Ganondorf can do some cool **** with his aerials but besides that his air game is ****ing terrible lol.

Worst air game belongs to Captain Falcon I guess. <<

Best Uair: ZSS has this one for me due to it being a fantastic method of killing with her, but honerable mention goes to MK's Uair which comes out fast can can easily be used for chase kills.

Best Fair:Jigglypuff. It's beastly, comes out fast and can chase off the side no aerial comes close IMO.

Best Bair: hard to say... I'd tos up between Ike, Sonic ad DDD. All have great power, speed and range.

Best Dair: Lucario. It's strong, it's fast, it can be used to stall and it's got a large disjointed hitbox. Honerable mention: Toon link and G&W.

Best Nair: Rob, for the reasons that the OP stated. Honerable mention: luigi.

Best Spike: I still think that zelda's wins in pure power, but Ganondorf's is at least almost as powerful and is MUCH easier to connect with... so I give this to G.Dorf hands down.

also... zelda's lightning kicks get honerable mention for something... able to be performwed in 3 directions, they are frighteningly powerful, and her Uair is beastly strong as well... they are just all hard to hit with,

Are we just judging which sinlge move is the best?
Anyway, I think if we decide who is best aerial over all we will have to look at many factors, these include the duration of time they can stay in the air, the many different situations they can tackle using a variety of aerial moves, and whatever else there is that makes a great aerial fighter a great aerial fighter.

I think ZSS has some of the best spikes, they are not initiated by the A buttons though, well one can be.
The flip jump kick(the kick can be initiated by the A button) is a sex kick type spike, and the up-B has huge amounts of range for a spike, and if used correctly will not sweet spot the ledge.

ness is a very good arialist. His Fair can be slightly comboed. his bair is a killing move. his spike rocks.his up air is very deadly. and his n-air is defensive.

All of G&W's aerials are awesome. Except his F-air, it's pretty good but it's not awesome.

Vertical range issues. Short hopping this can beduckd under by a lot of people.

Ness has beastly airgame

Nair is quick and combos well with little lag. Can fit 2 of these babies in one shourt hop, and they last longer than they look. Great for edgeguarding and can kill.

Uair is a much more powerful aerial than it looks like. Kills a Bowser standing on FD at 137%. It's also very fast and comboable becuase of its little lag. Autocancels so it can lead to low percentcombos into another aerial or utilt.

Fair has range, priority, comboability, and autocancels. One of Ness' best approaches and defensive maneuvers. Arguably his best aerial.

Bair is a quick move and kills very well. Easy to sweetspot and good for edgeguarding.

Dair is the most powerful spike at low percentages in the whole game. Its weaker than Ganon's at higher percents, but who cares? You dont need a high percent to be killed by a spike, infact, I think a lower percent killing spike is better.

I'd definitely put Olimar's and Wario's uairs in for consideration myself.

does it beat zelda's sweetspotted Dair in that area? even if it doesn't, it's much safer and easier to hit with.

Snake has the best tilts, not aerials.

Dair: Either Lucario or G&W. People mention Ness but it's not nearly as easy to hit as one of these 2. Both Lucario and G&W can spam the hell out of it with little to no lag and beastly priority. Dairs like Olimar's and MK's come close, but just don't cut it to be the best.

Noone wants to put Falcon's F-air because they fail at aiming it now and gave up hope for it.

You know, since his knee is actually his knee now, instead of like... his whole body lol.

@TC:
I think it would be nice if you took a look at these and edited the first post to see what seems to be most voted to be the best, at least once in a while lol.

I think the Knee is also faster, which causes a lot of problems for people.

that's true lol. in melee it was "the whole body!!!", not "the knee", like in brawl.

falcon's spike (dair) is by far the best lol
Ganon's is much more useful.

Although no one has mentioned it (unless I completely read over it, then I apologize), in my opinion Kirby has one of the most useful aerials in Brawl with Dair.
Unlike those like Toon Link, Link, Sonic, Sheik, etc. where the char is sent downwards quickly and its difficult, if possible, to recover from, Kirby's Dair works well with his floaty nature. The spiking area extends all the way down his feet, which is a pretty good sized hitbox, and it's also a multi-hit spike, so the initial hit can be missed but the remainder can still spike, unlike Falco.

in brawl or melee? in brawl, it actually has to be sweetspotted... it's a rather large sweetspot, but still
Brawl, I rarely used falco in melee and haven't had a chance to play it in years.

stupid game disc breaking.

so, yes, falco's Dair needs to be sweetspotted to spike, but it's easy to pull off, gives it more versatility (because you don't have to spike with it) and it also seems to have a slight angle, which I really like.

I'm biased, but I think diddy has a better spike not because of it's power, but because of the fact that you don't need to be above someone to spike them. You can be almost underneath people and still spike them.
