GGs guys, that was awesome. Shout-outs:

Eric: You are such an awesome team mate, and I was shocked at how quickly you improved in such a short period of time. Low tier FTW! : )

Adam: You have very good spacing with fireballs, and your Mario is quite good, considering you don't play very much and don't have the Z-cancelling down completely. And yeah, Kirby is gay. Very gay. It's just the way the game works though, nothing much you can do about it. Just don't get pissed at me for taking advantage of it. I do what I can to win (within the rules of the game), and that's what competitive gaming is about.

Jack: GG thanks for hosting this. I wanna see the final match though. Actually, maybe I don't, I see you guys play enough already. XD

Uhh, who else was at the tournament that uses SWF? lol

Anyway, GG's everyone, good tourney, SSB64 LIVES!!!

I wished I would have prepared all this thoroughly so it could end a lot earlier. Never got to play with Adam and his friends much and I wanted to have more games with everyone.

It's great experience, and I still kinda shiver when I play tournament matches, not use to the pressure. I wanted more games with everyone so I can use more different characters, I basically ended up using kirby / pikachu a lot more. Only used falcon, fox and link once.

Ya I got a little frustrated with the whole not having even a breath of hope for getting back onto the edge once I got knocked off. Guess I should pick up my pikachu again for next time.

Jack: GG's and congrats on you and Wayne's part on not letting Steve take first. I think after singles steve was pretty much done with playing SSB64. We coulda done alot better in teams I think x_x and he's not used to playing with team attack on which is unfortunate.

Yes indeed it is.

your mario was excellent theres no doubt about that. perhaps you didn't had enough sleep lol, when I didn't sleep a night, I play like crap, same goes for doing an exam, can't think straight.

I was surprised that you didn't do well but it's also true that some part of the game is weird, say you choose to roll but it takes out the shield instead of the roll. Many people were playing cheap + mario is a slower characte, its definitly a lot harder to win with mario.

After I saw Steven played a bit I had no doubt that he might end up with first, I tried hard to win, so did Wayne. but even then, they both had a shot at the prizes. Wayne held his own by staying calm with over 100 percent on the last stock, same goes for Steven, both are clutch players and both played well. (I should have make it best of 5 since its for 2nd and 3rd)

maybe next time the team attack won't be on, Evan and some of our players are trying to get use to it as well O_O!!

once more, thank you plenty for showing up Adam, Steven and Eric. I already want to play again!!
ps: Eric, your samus was really something and did very well in team battle ! Samus ftw.
(I'll post up the bracket shortly, it's almost done)

thanks man, next time I'll definitly have everything prepared, as well as making it best of 5 instead of 3. It seems there are some of our players complaining they were out too early and had nothing to do, partially my fault for stretching it too long but yeah, best of 5 would make it more interesting. Definitly worth a try and its more fair to the players that are more consistent!

Doubles:
1. Jack + Wayne
2. Evan + Eric
3. Steven + Adam
4. Panda + Gavin
5. Stephen + Tuan

I think those were the results anyway. Too bad we had so few, but the round robin system worked nicely. I was surprised at how well Eric and I did, lol. Good spacing and teamwork, skills that transferred over from Melee.

That's a rather small window of opportunity. :ohwell: Well, even if something happens, I'm not going to any more tourneys until my final exams are over.

Oh, and enjoy your stay :) BC = best province in Canada [/bias]

indeed, lower tier characters such as samus and link used by Eric and Tuan, thats really something. Eric and Stephen were the only 2 players using samus all the way as well as Tuan was the only person going all out with link from singles to doubles. praises!

I doesn't have to be a tourney. It could be a smashfest or something. It would be my first time smashing with a Canadian...

No worries, we'll see what we can do. It's just that the weekend of dec 15-16 there is a huge tournament in Calgary, then the following week there is another large tournament at a university, and the following week would be the week you're arriving.

I think you'll find that Canadians are kinda learning how to play the game.

Jack: Ya Kume vs ME (Top seed) was the reason I got knocked out so early. I think I could have defeated at least half the people that placed above me but oh well =P. Also, for next time, have a computer ready with "tio beta v1.1" or something like that, just google it and I'm sure u could find downloads available somewhere. It is a very efficient and easy way of executing a double-elim bracket for basically anything. It would have cut off about 2-3 hours of time for singles so I think it's a very important thing to have for next time =). Other then that I thouroughly enjoyed myself and I just wish Steve knew how to play w/team attack on and tried a little more in teams x_x.

Wait, MORE johnz! Controller jonz, etc. All the N64 controllers save a few of them were pretty crappy. If I can't dash dance, there's a problem xD. Anyways I have class in 5 min so I gtg, laterz.

I kinda stick to the plan since kume and evan came late, i had them as lowest ranked seeds. when panda did the bracket he just think it's right to put top vs bottom which isnt really fair, sorry i should have done the bracket with him.

So its called tio beta v1.1, i'll check it out right now and next time i'll run it much faster, and more games too!

Btw Evan, when do you plan to host another big SFU thing? in Jan or early Feb?
