We found a venue in Madison. It looks like we'll probably be hosting a tournament in June. Who knows? Maybe we'll host it on my birthday June 25th, seeing as how it's a Saturday and my whole family will be on vacation at that time without me =(

We haven't set anything definitive down yet, but after talking to the guy who runs the venue yesterday, he said hosting a tournament would be very doable. Once I get the date arranged with the venue, I'll post a thread for it.
I take credit for that statement.

I wish shielding worked against bananas. Unfortunately, those annoying things always land at your feet when you shield them and trip you anyway.

yeah i over simplified, but a lot of people try to challenge bananas too much. if you shield and then get away as it bounces off your shield you should be good depending on your characters escape options and your read on how the diddy responds when you shield his bananas. like with snake if the diddy pulls 2 bananas and throws 2 bananas, just shield them and roll back e.g obviously the diddy can mix it up though
i'd like to play a really great diddy though. diddy's like the only character in the game who still wins using 2008 tactics and traps just cuz they're so good.

yeah, basically what i was trying to say lol.
and its just matchups man.
once i really get my co main of ddd and mk going then i feel like ill be placing better.
i gotta use d3 for ZSS and snake. snake only sometimes though. cuz mk is pretty legit vs. him. and maybe even d3 for pika and possibly kirby bc i cant seem to really understand kirby vs. mk.
and then im cool with the rest of the cast as mk.
there's just a couple charecter that counter my mk mad hard.

Maybe not Bdacus, but I'm pretty sure they phantasm cancelled. Still, his strategy hasn't changed much. Lasser laser laser chaingrab > spike and phantasm when they get close to you.

I like D3, but he's the epitome of a character that hasn't evolved overtime. He's a big wall, with 4 or 5 jumps. I llike D3, but i think he moves to slow on the ground for me to really enjoy playing him.
I have to completely disagree with you. Without Mk(cause he has no real answer) brawl will be pretty balanced. There are alot of good characters in that game to me vs melee. I just like melee more and better at it. Falco has just a few weaknesses and there pretty obvious thats y its so haRd for him to win a tourney even though he has the potenetial. But the same goes for all the A tier.
You don't know about bananas enough, i bet you shield against my bananas and i'll punish you serverly. Just one example, if diddy kong is right next to you with a banana, and if he GT the banana down into you shield so he ends up behind you. You will be at a terrible disadvantage and you will lose percentage for being in that situation. Diddy is easliy the next broken to MK. When i get hit when I'm play with diddy, I feel like I did something terribly wrong. O, and one more thing, If wario didn't have that grab release sh*t, he would be a character no one wants to fight. But even with that he's a major threat.

I'm going to try and play mario at the next tournament, but then quit him before the tournament even starts because I'll learn how awful he is.

Mario is actually decent againt diddy, he just has the tools by chance to deal with him.
Breaking News: I've change the date of resist 3 to June 11th. May 21st was too fast, and the people who usually come can't make it because of that close date. Im pushing it back some. I hope this doesn't f*ck anybody attending.
Some how if it does, thats gonna piss me off and just the thought of being pissed off pisses me off, and thats making me highly pissed off.
Sh*t, i gotta go lift some weights to blow off this steam.

Honestly, I think we should only worry about it conflicting with in-state tournaments or big tournaments that are within reasonable driving distance. I mean, it's bound to coincide with some tournaments somewhere else in the ATL South.
EDIT: Also, this needs to be updated. If the old panel isn't going to work, we need to appoint a new panel. I think Slam, Billy, and Reflex would all make good panelists since all three consistently attend tournaments and because all of them have pretty fixed spots as I see it now. I'm sure George or Ragnarok could be added too.

I brought up both of those tournaments because A: Louisiana is usually a pretty decent portion of attendance there. and B: CEO because the small group of Florida players we have would probably go to CEO instead of Resist. I wouldn't have brought them up if it weren't a bit of a problem lol

I don't remember many LA players at the last Resist, but maybe I'm mistaken. FL usually does have a few people. For most AL tournaments though, taking into consideration the FL and LA players usually isn't a huge issue.
Is that a points-based list or what?

It will probably be the 25th of June for my tournament. I'm working on something that may ensure incredibly high attendance.
I'm surprised Janitor ended up higher than Spade. Is that because of a points-based list or the average lists of the panel minus Reflex?

Janitor had more matches for me to look through and choose from. He also had a win against Elev8. Spade went to two tournaments as opposed to Janitors 5.
