I watched a few ICs videos and kinda understand the matchup more now. The peach boards specifically said "if you play this match up like you would in melee, you will lose." I wish I had know that before.

KOLA, can you in the future edit the date of the last update into the thread title, so i know which tournaments to consider when discussing the PR
its gonna be hard to make a list because if tournament results, and victories against other PR hopefuls are the main criteria, we don't have a lot to choose from. slam, cheap, and aloha haven't been doing that well lately

explanation: top 7 I believe is self explanatory to anyone who's paid attention to tournament results and bracket matchups
if i'm not mistaken, cheap, aloha, and slam all got either last or second to last at the last two tournaments, cheap has normally outplaced aloha and slam, and i feel that slam is just losing to random folks that he shouldn't be losing to, in the last couple tournaments at least. aloha i dont believe has lost to anyone except other players higher than him on this list, or good OOS ppl
its hard to make this list because I think that slam is a more skilled player than both cheap and aloha, but he has done worse in tournaments lately, so i dunno. take it or leave it
other than that, i dont think there's anyone to choose from.
other good players like met and cam don't really go to tournaments. i think they're good enough perhaps, but we don't really have enough data on them. i mean there are only 2 tournaments to consider, but we have back data on lots of people from other tournaments, just not cam, met etc.
for example, kola went to daphne but not gamebox, but he's still on my list due to backdata and the fact that he's shown he's still consistent at daphne.
cam adn will, for sure could easily make the list if they decided to travel to more tournaments, i dont know much about met but he seems to be pretty good as well.

Are we counting AUSOM 2 in this update? I wish someone would give a list of the tournaments we are considering.

the only tournaments we've had in alabama since the last update have been daphne and gamebox
i considered them almost exclusively, with the intent of only adding relatively active smashers to my list, or else i would have easily added will and cam. both of whom are probably better players than 7-10 on my list.
i think they should be added to a list of "skilled but not on the list for whatever reason" type of list.
aloha i didn't attend ausom. you beat me at the gamebox previous to this last one, but i still outplaced you in the tournament, also i beat you at a more recent tournament (daphne)

Yeah, I'm definitely not active. I've only really attended the 3 Auburn tournaments and that tournament in Daphne recently. I didn't realize we were judging it exclusively on two tournaments though. Hmm... the thing that really bothers me is that a lot of the people winning the places that 8, 9, and 10 on the PR should be winning are inactive Alabama smashers like Moogle, Will, Mahgnittoc, and Scourge.
EDIT: You shouldn't discount M3T though. He's been to all the Auburn tournaments and all the Daphne tournaments. He's relatively active I would say.

I don't really care about inactivity. You go to the Auburn tournaments, which are one of the only successful tournaments than are ran consistently.
I have an idea~ let's put whoever we want on our list. Just have an explanation for who you put on there.

if we're counting all of those, then will, cam, met, and mahgnittoc each only attended 2 tournaments this season. but since my original list was only based on two tournaments, i'm going to make my list considering them as active enough.
1. reflex, obv
2. elev8, also obv imo. has the second best tournament record in alabama. consistently places higher than billy. only attended 2 tournametns this season i believe, but he got top 4 in both, and outplaced billy in both
3. billy, although george beat him at mlg vestavia, billy generally places higher than george, and has a winning record against him.
4. george, outplaces and beats everyone in alabama except the people above him.
5. ragnarock, same here, genearlly outplaces everyone below him, and wins his matchups.
6. Kola, consistently places top 8 in tournaments
7. Janitor, i pretty much always get either 7th or 9th in tournaments lol
8. Will_, unless he states that he's inactive. but he went to two of these tournaments and placed in top 8 of both. (i would actually say its a coin toss between will and i for 7/8, but i figured that i went to more tournaments, so i've earned my spot more solidly)
9. Mahgnittoc, also attended 2 of the tournaments, and finished quite well in both.
10. ShaSLAM, makes the list mainly because of his good performance at 2ausom and MLG vestavia

both cam and met attended two of the tournaments and did well in one of them, and not so well in the other. cam also lost some instate matchups for example at 2 ausom according to the brackets, he lost to shaslam and JMIX. met did well at daphne, but not good at 2ausom, where shaslam, for example placed well.
cheap i think is the only person besides reflex and billy who attended all 5 of the tournaments, but the problem is that he didn't do good in any of them lol. his best was 9th at gamebox 6. and he didn't win any major PR contested matches in that.
aloha is the same story. he got 9th at gamebox 6 aas well, and this included a win over theONEjanitor. but i still outplaced him in the same tournament, and the rest of his tournament placings are unremarkable.

Saint had one stock left when you played him, and he still managed to take one from you. You played well against me, but I also killed myself early when we played in crews. No one's doubting your skill, but you also have to prove yourself in tournament. 13th and 17th place aren't that great. The best you placed was 9th of 22 at the Vulcan Gamebox tournament back in September. Who have you beaten in tournament recently? Can you give us a list? Who have you lost to recently?
EDIT: Btw, Janitor, you are very right that I should not have lost to JMIX. The guy didn't have any matchup experience vs pikachu, and I was just playing horribly that tournament.
No such thing. You should have lost, because you -did- lose.
There's no issue with feeling like you were playing badly that day, but a loss is a loss (and, in his case, a win is a win). This may seem nitpicky, but, he beat you when it counted, and you should never say "I should have won," so long as he didn't outright cheat or something. If I SD against someone I regularly beat, and they beat me as a result, I should not have won; perhaps I shouldn't have SD'd...
