A GCT is just a bunch of numbers. The File Replacement code loads your Brawl mods from a folder on your SD card, not from your GCT. And yes, you should use that code.

Alright, this seems like, a "Help me" Thread,

Might anyone please explain to me how to add texture'd items?
I would really like to replace my Maxium Tomato with RTB's Sanvich.
Might someone please tell me how to set up the folders?

For those who don't know how to replace items, I had included a pre-made Common3.pac in the zip file as well. All you need to do is put that in your pf/system folder, and you're done! (...but I don't know if that Common3.pac will work with PAL/JPN Brawl yet.)

As for replacing textures for items manually, just open up your Common3.pac in BrawlBox, open the ItmCommonBrres PAC, then open up any of the other PACs in there like you would for replacing character textures.

I'm always expecting a response of some kind, and not always from you. It took me awhile to figure out alot of the things on that texture, so I am proud of it.

My current mission is to contribute to the Ichigo Kurosaki Project by Brawl-ifying his textures as much as possible, which is already halfway done, the organization of his face texture is making it a ***** though. The hair texture can't be edited very well either because of the fact that it is stretched all over the head.

I've got a problem with BrawlBox. When I try to load a .wav file (Yes, I converted it with Audacity from mp3), the program freezes for a bit as if it was loading and then it starts working again, but the file doesn't load. It just stays blank. I don't get an error message, or anything.

I did that and still doesn't load. And I just want a quick answer, I don't see the point of making a whole thread over that.

Yes. I clicked File-> Export as WAV. Anyway, I'll take this to the BrawlBox Q&A Thread.

16. Save it as the value of the song you wanna replace

I don't get this sentence? i dont have the E06 things.

How do i get them?
You just rename your .brstm file to E06.brstm. So if you have a battleforstormhill.brstm file that you downloaded or made, rename it to X01.brstm to replace the main SSBB theme.

It's basically renaming files to match the song you want to replace.

You covered so much, but there are a few things on the first/second post that aren't there, like what numbers to rename to place the songs to replace in Brawl. (Figured that out by searching abit, but 'twould be nice for this page to have it since it's kinda a "answer all" kinda thing) Another thing not there is the deal with Kirby hats, like where to the reskins go for those, and how many are there for each character? (That I didn't figure out or find by searching. T.T)

-.rels go in the "module folder in the "pf" folder. We have a ton of NTSC .rels in the Help section
-stage builder stages go in RSB? (? being region), stages (like in the .H.A.C.K.I.N.G. thread) go in pf\stage\melee
-Pokemon go in the "item" folder. Some have their Japanese names.
-The Mushroom texture goes in common3.pac

ive recently been starting making a yoshi texture based of super mario galaxy 2.

The texture went fine but it looked plain simple.
That's why i wanted to add the shaders aswell so i used the subspace dark yoshi model since it has reflection textures it worked but the only problem is that its way too light and darken or making it transparent wont work well enough or not at all.

anyone know a fix?

I cant get any standard textures to work and have no idea why :/

What am I doing wrong? Here's how my SD card is set out.....By the way I'm using PAL version of Brawl.

Four folders in the root: apps, codes, private, txtcodes

apps/gecko OS/the files for gecko
apps/HBC cheat manager/the files for it

codes/File Replacement v2.1a' PAL [Phantom Wings, Y.S.].gct
codes/FILERE~1.GCT
codes/RSBP01.gct

txtcodes/RSBP01

RSBP01 is a text document with the code on. this is what it says when you open it up:

fighter folder has one folder, each for every character.
stage folder has a folder names 'melee' then there's a few stage textures inside that
the module folder has .rel files for some of the stage textures

they're all named correctly :)

for example, just to show that i know what i'm doing when it comes to naming them....

private/wii/app/RSBP/pf/Fighter/Donkey/FitDonkey00.pcs

i don't know what else to do :/

Sounds like your SD card isn't the right type. It has to be an SD card not an SDHC.

im very sure it's an SD card because it's only 1 GB.

from what i know SDHC cards are only bigger than 2GB's?

Camzy is right. If it's any larger than 2GB then it's a High Capacity one and can't be used in Brawl, as that came out before the Wii supported SDHC (you'd think they'd actually put IOS patching to use there)
EDIT: Ninja'd.

It's a bit of a stab in the dark, but try backing up the files on your SD, formatting it, and then putting the files back on it.

I'm no expert, especially with PAL, but I'm pretty sure that Gecko isn't going to read any files that aren't titled RSBP01.gct when you're playing Brawl. I think the problem is that Phantom Wings's file replacement code is being completely ignored. Try putting Phantom Wings's code into the RSBP01.gct, then run Brew > Gecko > Brawl normally and see what happens.

Can't help you with the Gecko/Homebrew stuff. I got that through IRL friends copy/pasting stuff to my SD card and trial and error.

Also, dude, your SD Card is completely messed up. You're gonna have to do a little revamp.

If you're trying to get those to appear on the character selection screen, you're doing it wrong. You have to put those in the sc_selcharacter.pac that goes in the directory:

X:/private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/menu2

RSBE is interchangeable with RSBP and RSBJ (I THINK) depending on what Wii you have. If you live in America, ignore this.

Do you have Brawlbox? If you don't, download it here:

http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=238861

Once you have Brawlbox and a sc_selcharacter.pac I can help.

First off, I'm assuming the FitDonkeySpy0#.pac files are only there because they're an alternate set of textures that you interchange with your current ones and you know that they aren't actually going to appear on the game. If you don't, they don't.

Second, you have the directory all wrong. The directory is:

X:/private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/fighter/donkey

Also, make sure that you're using the File Patch Code v3.5.1 [Phantom Wings]. It's in the first post of the thread. The other directories for your stages and characters are also in the first post.
