HOLY ****ING ****! How are you ****ers doing? I didn't know Smash had such an active online community. Crono, don't take away money from the TGL tournaments, the only reason I've been ****ing going is cause Shawn said he was going to come like 4,000 times in a row and because I've been getting something for going. And no one seemed to mention that me and my brother won teams the last TGL cause he actually put like 1 hour into learning Marth so he could knock people off the stage in teams.

By the way, Andrew's room is the best place on God's green earth (even though I'm agnostic).

Andrew, you missed out on some sexy 3s action today cause Lukus came from out of town.

But I really do want to try my new marth skills on everybody though. Or I can come sometime and stictly go to Ryan's house for vengeance. Many new players though. Your Peach was down to the last hit, and Falco was pretty bad, but I had never really played Marth, I never trained him at all... Just liked his reach and used him when I was intimidated. But now he is a thousand times better than my Sheik even vs Sheik, and fast fallers are my best match ups even on platform stages. I have a lot of 0-deaths that work even through platforms. The best character to use on my Marth would still be Sheik though. But Peach and Falco would be no contest. Also 10$ is a lot of money to me sir.

hell last time I didn't even count how much I got because it was so little. I think I made like $6.


the only character that has 0 death in this game is peach and that is pretty much it. if you chaingrab perfect with marth and the person getting grabbed doesnt know what they are doing you can get a tipped fsmash and technically do a 0-death but any smart fox would stop DIing at marth's kill range and instead focus on jumping out before marth can do a utilt or another grab.

also the only space animal you should expect to face is me....and I know what to do vs chaingrabs. more than likely you will play at least 3 shieks though. shiek is everywhere in lubbock, I cant think of anyone who doesn't play shiek as their best or secondary other than fmatt, adam, and myself.

aaaand if you want to find out what is in andrew's room you'll just have to come out to the tourney now wont you?

Uhhhhhhh, I still cringe every time Andrew starts one on you.

If you don't DI past 60% Marth just has to pivot and tip at the right time, all simple stuff. And if falco is off the stage it is over, fox maybe depending if you can sweet spot everytime or not... Can you? Falcon is slight trouble on the stage, and Sheik if I can't grab... But from experience I am pretty sute that no Sheik player in Lubbock will be able to get out of juggling until past 100%. And the only other way out of Marths chaingrab with the space animals that I know of is not DIing or slight DI from like 18% to 30 something%. And all you have to do is pivot then also, it is unfair and ultra gay. Not saying that I can beat anyone though, because technical stuff like that is no substitute for being smart... I am lacking there so much.

if you pivot into tip you have to get pretty lucky because pivot you get only 1 frame and you have to get lucky in guessing the DI because you have to do it so fast. you never see pros do it because usually its easier to just get another utilt or just do the fsmash in place rather than go for something you will more than likely screw up. (like instead just ending up doing a dash attack...lol)

I mean hitting or missing that fsmash is the difference between 70ish percent and 50ish for fox. why take that risk?

I sweet spot the ledge well but I highly doubt you will get a tipper on me from chain grab. srsly.

@pmatt - lol yeah. it definitely isnt good getting chain grabbed but I usually get out around 30-40% right now (or if I mash fast enough then before he even gets time to throw me ). now if only I could play like wes and get the shine out every time and not have to mash buttons as well as control stick to gain control of fox lol.

At 60% you can be grabed after the Utilt, there should be no way to get out of the chaingrab if it is done right until 60+% anyways on a flat stage, and after the Utilt to grab after 60%, the Marth should be able to Fsmash in place at the right time, or walk slightly, and tip it. It works that way with falco anyways.


Btw, pivoting is really easy... And you can move wherever you want with it in a dash range. So getting tips off on platforms is super easy as well. I don't care what people say, Marth is gayer than Sheik. And even I admitted my Sheik was pretty gay.

Edit: So you VS Andrew, you win because you break out of his chaingrabs? Or do you lose to him? I have never watched you two play, or watched you play period, so I am curious.

Wow, lots of talk about chain grabbing Fox. In my experience, the best solution is to tech right on top of Marth, and if you do successfully tech, use shine. Just DI downward and he'll have to dashdance to chain grab you at specific percentages.

Also, if you guess right, let's say Marth grabs Fox and Marth is on the left... If Marth does U-Throw and he likes to dash dance chaingrab by doing dash right, dash left, grab (meaning he goes under you), if you hold right he'll dash dance right, left, then he'll have to go right again, and you can escape successfully.

Crono: I think attendance last time had to do more that there wasn't a Tech Announce, not because they had to pay the price of a double cheeseburger at McDonald's.

Shawn: You better ****ing come because every time you don't a little boy gets anally ***** in the alley. Oh and as for what's in Andrew's room, ****ing GOLD. I always bring a hefty bag to collect when I go to Andrew's.

I enjoy games a lot more when I'm really competitive, instead of not giving a ****. I hate playing games without a goal. That brings me to the interesting point that I'm really seriously considering going into Brawl competitively instead of half-assing it like I did in Melee.

Sounds like a plan Ryan, no tournament for me I guess... With Sintenal not playing and Matt although he never tries, and with no prize. There are only a few people I care to play. This will be easier for me anyway. Whoever can make it I would be happy to play.



@Felix: That guy didn't pivot right when he could have, he could have made all of those grabs. But that last one at 2:01 was kinda high. With Falco, you can usually Utilt there, and run and regrab... Fox will probably go too high though if he is tipped. Well then maybe after 50 I can start juggling a little or something. In any case it should be 0-60% or a little more maybe. Seems interesting, hope to play you soon.


@Andrew: Does any of this sound good to you? If it is a day you can show up, and a day that is good for Ryan.

yeah the point of that vid was just to show you can get out w/ shine if you do it fast enough. requires a lot of control stick rotation and button mashing though. thats why if you see me getting chain grabbed I just button mash like no tomorrow, sometimes firefox can come out and the flames will hit marth and I can get out.

aaand again if I go anywhere off campus I do need a ride. so if say we do go to ryan's place I'll need a ride hint hint

The problem with wiggling the Joystick to escape the stun is it easily communicates you are trying to shine out of it. If you play any Street Fighter it's the equivalent of someone doing a super or shoryuken on wakeup. Once you hear them mashing, it's obvious what they're going to do. Now I don't know if he's timing that shine, or mashing it in, but if he can't get out of it quickly, he might get tipped and ****ing die for behaving like that.

EDIT: Just read your edits, Felix. I'll play with anyone who wants to head over to my place. I don't wanna go anywhere, though.

Who is this directed to? Listen, it's fun playing with you guys. Hell it was MORE fun playing at Andrew's house than the tournament. But casual bull**** gaming like that is no where near as fun as competitive gaming, or training before a big tournament. I don't even want to play Tekken, either. I'm not attending any tournaments right now, so it's not as fun to play without a goal, for me... Smash Brawl, THAT will be fun =).

As it stands there will be no entry at Saturday's tournament, and I don't care if Ryan or Shawn shows up. If they do, great if they don't, woopedeedo. Since it doesn't involve money I will probably play in singles. I don't know what Austin will do because he can make decisions by himself.

On a side note there was a TA for the last tournament however it was on the wednesday before. I do believe that affected the attendance, but I also think that the entry fee was starting to deter people from coming again. Since no one except Ryan has the condition that there must be prizes for them to come I'm willing to make that sacrifice. Also Adam has done me a favor and already posted one TA this week, and I will get another one this week(hopefully on thursday or friday).

If you are wondering why I don't care its because until Brawl comes out I don't plan on putting any serious time into smash bros. I am trying to graduate after all.

Heheh, I love you too Crono. No tourney for me for sure, even though this time I could probably go, with Serg not going I have been less enthusiastic. I suck at smash anyway, but either way I wouldn't go into Brawl competitively (even though I will definately play it)... Or any other game. I have to make myself play people now on melee and it is sorta boring unless I am using Ness or something. I gotta start figuring out what I am gonna do for a living. Can't be a professional bum sadly. I do however want to play Ryan though, since I have waited so long. But either way is fine, we'll see.
