I'm not sure if this was mentioned, but i can do this with my left thumb alone on a GC controller. Just vibrate it, and it happens consistently after say 1 to 2 seconds.

Would you really have preferred he start a new thread? I'm not sure why it matters how old the thread is. It's pertinent information to the topic at hand. It isn't like there are dozens of more important threads on the front page.
