Tatsunoko vs. Capcom - Too Goodz!?

We had our first TvC tournament at Chu's Biweekly. Had a nice 18 entrants for a 4 day preparation! Not only that, but it seems this game is contagious. Everyone who didn't enter thought the game was awesome and now they wanna get in on the fun.

So let's just turn this into a TvC discussion thread, but keep it limited to smashers to keep the thread open. =P

Screw the Shoryuken Forums. I want to see if smash players would want to do a TvC tournament by itself or see it combo'ed with Brawl or Melee. Trying to fit Melee/Brawl Singles and Teams in one day takes a lot of time, but one or the other plus TvC would make a tournament the perfect length.

I think this would be a great idea have this as like one of a sections of a brawl tourney.
Like how we have doubles, and singles, have a part set away for Brawl or melee friendlies/ the Tatsunoko vs Capcom tourney so that the tatsunoko doesn't interfere with the other tourneys running. Well if there's time that is.

I'm also trying to keep this separate from the Shoryuken people since:
1.) The Smash Community is more awesome.
2.) Shoryuken tournaments usually have crazy venue and registration fees.
3.) I'd also like to include a Smash tournament if that becomes favorable.

I got home around 7am-ish, only had a couple hours of sleep for class lollz

ewww shoryuken suxxx. although I admit, I did come in to find one combo to try to memorize with Jun in training mode. Memorization is so hard @_@

Combos practiced in training mode can be done on people in versus mode in any traditional fighting game right? Since there's no DI or anything defensive a player can do after they get hit (besides the move that makes your character explode or something and sacrifices some health), or is there? lollz

your right Azen. only thing that can break a combo in TvC is mega crash aka burst aka the thing the makes you explode. Baiting mega crashes is fun stuff i'll admit. Soki / Ryu is weird but so fun to play.

Lol. Yeah, it's pretty awesome.

So what do you guys think of the game so far? Who's good and and who's not? Find any interesting combos?

One thing I noticed is that Jun and a few other characters have combos with "overheads" (found this out from a TvC guy). Pretty much, and overhead is when you can hit a person who is guarding and crouching at the same time. That's pretty hardcore.

But really since pretty much everyone can airdash and do a jumping attack, everyone in the game has a decent mix-up game.

Lets be serious these are smash players not fighting game players VS games are new to them lolz

To be honest... not really.

Ok, well it's a Vs game so unlike most Street Fighter games and other traditional fighters, the combat engine is really loose.

Think Melee but with 100 times more shenanigans.

This particular Vs game is far more balanced with many more checks and balances in the system to limit the brokenness of the engine though. Also the universal options are much better.

So overall...I like the game, just wish Ryu had a ****ing infinite lol.
