I have problems with early september. According to my uni key-dates, I have a mid semster break around 4th of September, I am un-sure how long that goes for, but I can only assume a few days, nothing big.
Besides that time, my exam dates are between 28th of Oct - 14th of November.

So if any sort of tourment is to be held early september and you want me to show up, it will have to be around the 4th.

That works for me, I can arive on the 3rd and leave on the 7th, five whole days of sight seeing and smash.

Hmm, I am fairly sure we can't have it at this place anytime after the 6th of September.
And I am assuming by the amount of people so far interested that it would be far to expensive and stuff to have it at the place up the hill.
However, we should still do our best to find out what the actual price is.

If anyone can think of/wants any other date do say so.
We don't have to have it on school holidays (unless there is something I haven't thought of) so A weekend should work alright.

Not possible with 4th? 4th is such a solid date tho. Weekends are annoying and problem for me, because of bus. As soon as Sunday hits, I'll have to go straight home and I may not even be able to come up on a friday depending on school work.

I say go with 4th. I mean, how many people are you assuming?

OK, we are pretty much confirmed for the 4th of September.
Starting whenever everyone arrives I guess and going until late 5th/early 6th.

I will try and find out about hiring out The Unknown (in-joke), but otherwise we are having it at this house right here.
We would hold it downstairs in the loungeroom and probably one of the guest rooms.
In the loungeroom we have 2 TVs, adaquete seating in the form of a large couch, chairs and a bean bag,, a fridge, and a heater.
We could set up another TV in the room next to the lounge or in the "lobby" sort of area but i think in the room is better.

Sloth, Phantasmo and ZTV (or anyone else who travels from afar) shall be garunteed a bed.
We should split the cost between everyone who comes along, which shouldn't be much, maybe 15 dollars (more people, less cost!).
Breakfast is available and there is 3 or 4 fast food places in the town.
I think the idea would be Dino, Budge, Len, Monkey can go back to their places in the early hours of the morning and then come back whenever on the 5th. Although we would probably have room for them here.

I am hoping on getting a Digital Camcorder from radiorentals for a week, may get it on that week just for the oodles of footage we would be able to aquire.

This is crazy didn't know you guys had a thread infact i didn't even know there was a scene down there anyway. I am despite the fact that i live in queensland a tasmanian. Well i was born there and lived there till i was 7 and have been back atleast thrice a year since i left. I have discovered that i will be gracing tassie with my presence this christmas (i know thats ages away) or maybe this september so i thought id start posting here to get to know you all. I hope to play you all when i come down later in the year.

Ben, you've done the opposite of me, I used to live up in the legendary land that you now live at and now I'm...here.

It would be good if ya can get down in September, over summer me and Chooker wil probably be in Brisbane and Melbourne respectively, dunno what everyone else is doing.
And in September Phantasmo and ZTV are coming down it seems so it could be good.

also my flatmates might play too, they seem keen to play but dont like losing so its a kinda negative cycle. T_T

and yeah could possibly hold somthing down here at my house if needed too. but that would require more people traveling in total. o.o

You want quality over quanity in some aspects. With a decent quality it can help your skill grow, but if your against Marth f-smash c-sticking noobs for every fight, you'll quickly find your brain numbing to a halt and you'll come out with nothing new learnt, maybe just a lowered sense of IQ.

The thing about going south is if you guys can organise a group of Northies to come, we could hold Tasmania crew battles. South vs North. We have, me, N30N and our other two friends who would play.

I could see it as being interesting, maybe next tourment after this one should be in the South. Or, whether you guys just feel like coming down. Just have it in N30N's living room or something.

According to my sources (I looked on a calender) our school holdays don't start until Friday the 8th.
Therefore the thought of having it on the 4th is rooted.
Phantasmo, I hope you haven't booked anything yet, if so, I'm sure something can still be done, whether we have it here or down south.

In other news, if Nathan has a car, does that mean you guys if you do come up, don't need to come on the 4th?
meh, at least we still have plenty of time to organize, we starte dearly to make room for **** ups like this...on my behalf.


About the who to come thing, I could try and convince some new players to come, they are good blokes and all that, but are we after just the quality smashers or random fun?
I know I sure wasn't quality 8 months ago when I versed KK, Syke, Mos and the gang, I was WORSE than a c-stick, smasher, but because I took the risk, and played them I've wanted to improve, it opened my mind and I haven't looked back since.
maybe we should re-try and get it at the bayview centre or some other good venue, get 20 + people?
Put flyers up around colleges?
Who knows, discuss we must.

Well there is nothing wrong with quanity, if you look at the aspect of entry fee, it would lower any costs, or, if we even like, create prize money.
My only concern about prize money is for you guys, as I don't want to be a thief as such if I show up and steal everything . But that depends, you guys may beat me ^_^

So in general we want a mixture of both. We want quality players, but it doesn't matter if we have a bunch of randoms.

4th - 8th = Monday to friday. We have that 1 week off uni. It is possible I spose to hike up on the weekend before 4th, or on the 8th-10th. etc.

OK, we can have it here on the weekend before the 4th.
Friday the 1st, Sat the 2nd and Sun the 3rd (I assume we want the weekend), although the 4th/5th even is still a possibility.

We can't hold it at this house after the 5th of September.

The stooges here (being Marche, Chooker, Dino, Monkey Len and me) have school that week. I can personally miss out (cause I will just get my work done early but I HIGHLY doubt anyone else can, or if it is viable.

Alternative venues just in case, please suggest now.

One is the bayview centre up the road from here, we will get around to ringing up about that (even if its unlikely we will use it).

We need to have a "confernce" of sorts to get a number of us together to discuss crap.
Either over an IM program (or all of us being on this site at once) or over those cheap 15 cent or whatever calls past 9pm.
Or a combination of the 2


And I agree we should get some that are sort of interested to come to help lower costs, it should be fun for them, they might see the way too, and 1 on 1's lots of friendlys between those who want it is very much possible.
