For those of you unfamiliar, a sweeper is a Pokemon designed to take out several of your opponents Pokemon, often utilizing very high speed and (sp.)atk. A sweep is when one of these Pokemon successfully kills many or all of your opponents' Pokemon within a single life without switching out. This is usually done through stat buff moves such as Swords Dance and Agility, allowing your Pokemon to one-hit KO nearly all of your opponents' Pokemon while out-speeding them.

Here's a sweep I did today while playing with a friend online. It's not the best sweep, but it's my most recent one. I manage to take out 5 of his 6 pokemon before dying from poison+mach punch.

It's a gimmick is what it is.

Aron, Cottonee, Nosepass, and probably some others that I'm forgetting are all capable of running level 1 Pain Split/Leech Seed and stalling out the opponent. It's about as viable as it sounds, which is to say that it's not viable. It requires a ton of support to work - no entry hazards, favorable weather, no phazers or priority moves on the opponent's team, etc. - and it's just generally not worth the effort compared to running a regular sleeper.

Battle after that though my entire team got walled by a Lapras and didn't have a single answer and the player was decent enough to take advantage of that.

Even Forry and the blobs can kill this thing though, that's the issue.

Yeah I could just use a Lati if I wanted to revenge those things and not waste a teamslot.

What does this thing even do after setting up 6 CMs? kill the thing in front of it and then die to the physical attacker that pops up afterwards? It's so goddamn slow.

Do you really think that Gothitelle is that frail? And Lati wastes a great Dragon type slot. Also Gothitelle can use a defensive EV spread that works just as well. And do you really think Forretress and Blissey can wall Gothitelle? You are sadly misinformed.

I just said kill it. Can't trick them a scarf and set up, and they're some of the wimpiest in the metagame.

I'll believe it if you get a log or two from like 1800+ ladder players where it gets a sweep off.

Also you're dumb if you think a Lati is a waste of Dragon slot. Latias and Latios are two of the top 3 Dragons in the Metagame.

How can either Forretress and Blissey kill Gothitelle. The only thing they can do is Toxic before they die. If you use Gothitelle and it does a better job revenge killing than Latis, you can use a a Dragon type like Salamence which is amazing in my opinion in the current metagame.
