I have a friend who doesn't even own a pair of jeans the only thing I've ever seen him wear is sweatpants.

XP It's because jeans look "better" than sweatpants. Kind of like how girls wear high heels over other shoes because they look better but obviously more uncomfortable! Personally, I love wearing sweatpants! I only own 1-2 pairs of jeans and like 5 pairs of sweatpants. They're so comfortable, eat to move around in, etc. Jeans I can't move around and it's hard to scratch when you have an itch. D':
But yeah, I don't get many compliments on how I look in a pair of sweatpants than a pair of jeans but that's okay because I'm comfortable and I can scratch!

LOL this blog is awesome. Bare feet and sweat pants, eh? You born to embody "slacker" I see :p Good for you!

I only wear sweat pants in the gym (when I'm most likely to... sweat) or on cool nights (while at home, not in public).

As versatile as they seem, they also lack deep multiple pockets as cargo pants and cargo or "carpenter" jeans have, of which I prefer the latter.

In the white collar world it's just untenable. You're in suits, or "business casual" at the least, khakis and polo's.

If you're in public but not on business, you can where whatever, but depending on WHERE in public you are, you may not meet dress code, ie black tie dinner establishment, etc etc.

They don't stain well. A pair of jeans can be forgiven for having a spaghetti stain, or something. When sweat pants stain, they look even worse than when in perfect order.

They don't get ripped as easily, but they DO get holes, which show right away, and start to spread like crazy when the puncture occurs.

They are not safe for many work environments, though technically neither are jeans, we're talking places like sewage plant, oil rigs, electrical plant, etc etc. Here you'll find custom pants that are made of various super-materials that are meant to withstand heat, electricity, chemicals, etc.

SO yeah, they have their place, but it really only works -every day of the year- if you're a bum or if you have little to no regard for what other people think of you.

Oh and "fashion" is rarely comfortable, practical or inexpensive. Even the fashion of looking practical, comfortable or inexpensive can be expensive as you pointed out. Ripped hole jeans, if its by Tommy, can run ya 80 bucks. Crazy world we live in when you pay more for less.

I'm fine with people wearing sweatpants. As long as they aren't
1) 60 pounds over a healthy weight. And have a very small size sweatpants
2) Isn't that really creepy fat teacher who always has some type of condiment stain on his sweatpants.

Personally I only use sweatpants for track season. You'd be crazy not to with the weather we practice in. Other than that; shorts FTW

Actually, some sweatpants do indeed come with multiple deep pockets. I happen to own two pairs like this, they're VERY handy for when I go to tournaments. They hold everything quite nicely.

lol Dajayman I too feel kinda funny if I go out in public. Sometimes, rarely, like if we're making a midnight McD's run or something, I'll not change out of them and into jeans, cause I'm lazy haha but no doubt wearing them out like that you kinda feel like you're walking around in underwear (just more cozy)

I remember I had a couple pairs way back when in Jr high... and I wore them on Gym days so I wouldn't have to change into gym clothes. God, I hated changing for Gym.

In high school, we weren't allowed to wear sweatpants even on cold autumn days. Only gym shorts, you know the kind with that thin material and bunch of tiny holes in them. Luckily they didn't make us go outside in winter. Brrrr...

Wouldn't have minded wearing some sweatpants while jogging a mile around the school's field in 40 degree weather at 7:30 in the morning, I had first period gym my freshman and senior year. :p

Sweatpants are aesthetically displeasing to my eyes.

They only look good on someone with a hipster look (hat, sweatshirt, giant sneakers). I prefer classier clothes, and a good pair of jeans works very well.

I love wearing sweatpants while I'm jogging or doing lame-*** homework at night or just sleeping in during the winter. They're definitely pretty comfortable.

They just look lame in public. I mean, I know this guy who wears sweatpants and crocs (yep...croc shoes) and it's just...lmao.

You know what else comes in several colors and is "comfy and easy to wear"? Crocs.

Fashion is work.
