I'll say it once, I'll say it again.

The only Rareware Franchises I give a damn about are Killer Instinct and Battletoads.

Everything else is average to me. Banjo and Conker are that special to me considering Spyro did those type of games better. Goldeneye and Perfect Dark were fine but they haven't aged well. And Rare as a whole didn't stand out to me as a kid outside of those t o franchises and Donkey Kong Country.

Retro Studios is a better Rareware than they ever was

I can't remember any point in the game where any of those points are true. I specifically remember the game going out of it's way to explain things in a funny but still thourough way.

Maybe my memories of it are soured.
But things like the lava boarding, the entire WW2 section, and the zombie mess around "Dracula's" castle just were unenjoyable and walls of difficulty from control more than anything.

The aspect of doing most tasks multiple times with barely any varying of challenge between tasks sticks HARD in my mind, though. Escorting the cheese to the mouse, the process of feeding then murdering the cows, THE LAVA BOARDING, using urine to corral rock people into a pit...

It just felt like a massive step down from Banjo's games and even DK64, to me. =/

Retro Studios is a better Rareware than they ever was.

I really fail to fathom how this possibly could make any sense as comparing the two companies, the only thing they've done similar is make Donkey Kong games. Retro has literally only have worked on Metroid games, Mario Kart 7, and DK games. Whereas Rare worked on far more IPs, and developed a ton of brand new IPs. I love Retro Studios, but they hardly hold a candle to Rare from numbers alone.

Being that N64 is my favorite system of all time, I' muse to the haters. But Get N or Get Out is my answer to that.

Anyway, when I mention Conker earlier I just prefer the non potty humor one. It's mainly just I'm not a fan of that kind of raunchy humor, as I've never actually played the game I can't comment on the gameplay. But Conker is most known for his raunchy days which gave him the popularity boost he would've most likely died without. Even on that youtube video people are upset it's not the raunchy Conker so I wouldn't feel too alone about this.

I think I've played through FE8 3 times.
Eirika... just never got potent. Worse than my experiences with Lyn.

I didn't even know she was supposed to be a myrmidion though, I just read that her caps are literally the same as Myrmidion->Swordmaster
Which is probably why she was so good to me

I started watching this fandom in 2012 and even I can attest to how cyclic character hate is.

This will definitely help whenever someone claims Wolf wasn't a scapegoat before, too.

I will say though that between the fact that his costume is a Mii Gunner and the fact that Tails can't even do some of the things Sonic does in those same main games (I.E. Homing Attack), I think that even if Sakurai wouldn't acknowledge spinoffs, he'd probably make something tech-based up for some moves that would still fit with the character.

The reason why Conker didn't explain things as much as other 3D platformers is because it was an M-Rated game.

It expects you to be an adult who can think for yourself and learn through experimentation. It's also why it's a very difficult game.

Even so, it explained things fairly well anyway.

If you couldn't play it and have fun with it because you thought it was too difficult, then no offense, you were probably too young to be playing it at the time.

That's been known about for a while. Son of a Glitch did a fairly thorough video on the subject.

Yeah, I am in the paper mario speedrun discord and I can say that the channel about pj is.....super active because there's jsut tons of findings.

And it became to a poitn where I still like the game and I think it's a really good game as m&l and I lvoe the Paper Mario side of it BUT MAN, THE ENGINERRING SUCKS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!

And this isn't the kind of "oh they'll just patch it", NO, it is inherently bad so much that you can't patch most of the game.

The engine has broken colisions, the cutscenes are poorly managed (it's really easy to have input controls and mess them) and imo the worst sin they have done is to assume success on battles so therE's a gltich called IBG (instant battles gltich) that is possible.

I already said the game was partially rushed because of the abundance of paper toads stuff, but this video shows how much rushed it was in the engineering. trust me, it's really bad programming.
