So I'm actually working on a (potential) article for SourceGaming at the moment, and something just crossed my mind...

Choosing to Smash was actually the best possible choice Corrin could have made.

I mean, I'm avoiding Fates spoilers like the plague so I don't know every detail, but think about it. His choice was so bafflingly out of nowhere and beyond stupid that both sides literally stopped their bickering to watch him and comprehend what the hell was actually going on. And it's not like he refused to make a choice: he DID make a choice. That choice just literally had nothing to do with anyone he knew or even his own universe. Because of that, there's not really much either side can do at this point, their most valuable chess piece bailed on them to go stab plumbers and robots.

I love SA1 but I'm not much of a fan of SA2. I don't hate it, I just don't think it's all that special and it doesn't do too much for me, personally, and I tend to get frustrated if I play it for too long since I am bound to run into something that annoys me. I think I would have enjoyed it if I played it as a kid but I actually didn't play it until a week before Generations came out. It was the one Sonic game featured in Generations I hadn't played because I lacked a GameCube and Dreamcast, and could never find the GC version for my Wii. However, on a vaction with my classmates at the time to Germany/France, I found a shop with second hand gaming and anime merchandise and they had a copy of SA2:B, so I bought it and was able to play it when I got home, in time for when my Sonic Generations Collector's Edition arrived, which was about a week after the game's launch.
