Well if you ever feel up to it, feel free to drop by the Smash 4 Social crowd once in a while. This is the only thread I post in. It's mainly because I have a hard time tracking multiple threads, and often get distracted by my own side projects. I'll post in other threads when I've been summoned to provide sources/etc (use the almighty @ tag). I should post more outside of this thread, but this area feels more like home...plus mod powers .

Ah finally, I can play the original Minesweeper wherever I go.
Wait, who are you again? Never seen you before.I also only really post here. Mainly because you're my people, but at the same time it's just because the rest of the board has a bit too much going on and I have no idea where to jump in and voice myself without feeling like a stranger to everyone.
''WHO IS THIS BASIC ROGER SMITH *****?!" essentially.
I expect one to happen when we have news to expect, coming from now, none.so guyz (n gurlz)
It's been about two months since the last Direct.
I know they're getting some new format this year but when do you expect one to happen?
(P.S. I hope I haven't opened a can of worms…)
Very interesting! It seems the names are removed too. Perhaps, once a number of characters is reached, the names disappear to make room for more icons? Seems to be the logic. There was a problem fetching the tweet
The fact that Smash for Wii U/3DS was made with DLC in mind, it makes stuff like this possible.
I hope the bosses end up playable through moddingThere was a problem fetching the tweet

I'm in the same boat, it's hard to keep track of multiple threads on mobile(which is what I use 99% of the time)This is the only thread I post in. Mii Fighters are actually coded at 0. soneek might have add those characters in that order.Very interesting! It seems the names are removed too. Perhaps, once a number of characters is reached, the names disappear to make room for more icons? Seems to be the logic.
Also intriguing how the bosses have portraits and names programmed as if they were normal characters. Even more interesting is how Master Core's forms share the same roster slot (maybe they're internally treated as alternate colors?) and how Ridley and Yellow Devil have the Metroid and Mega Man series symbols attached to them, even though I don't think they can ever have a % meter. My guess is that they could have had one at some point in development... Perhaps for a boss rush mode?
Or maybe there might have been a mode allowing players to control bosses? Alternatively, they might have programmed character slots for them to ease testing. After all, in Melee, using the debug menu, it was possible for human players to select Master Hand and Crazy Hand and actually control them.
Another interesting tidbit: all the boss slots are curiously placed exactly after Mario. Perhaps, they're not programmed to have an order, so they use the same placement as Mario, who's the "default" character in the game's coding.
The Mii Fighter icon between Mario and the bosses might be for the Fighting Mii Team. They probably were based on the playable Mii Fighters in regards to their implementation.
Anyway, it's indeed proof that the CSS was programmed with additional characters in mind, not just unlockable ones. There might be a specific algorithm when it comes to adjusting the rows and icon sizes as the number increases.
Likewise, the 3DS version had assets for a second page despite the base roster only needing a single page. Though it had room for up to 4 extra characters, with Cloud being in the game, they've all moved to the second page, with a large slot that takes up the empty space on the first page being used to switch between the base and the DLC characters.
In other words, DLC was always planned for the game. As for what that DLC would contain was likely only planned as the base game neared completion.
I can't wait till we get Project M's Menu music.Man, can't wait for the menu music remixes
Kind of late but:Here's a thing to do.
Every series in Smash.... Predict what will happen to them in 2016.
Go.
What do you mean people can't make Metal Face playable? There was a problem fetching the tweet

I'd like to point out that Ridley doesn't fit in his box at the bottom of the screen. There was a problem fetching the tweet

Giga Bowser actually works on the CSS in Melee the same way the SSB4 bosses do.Or maybe there might have been a mode allowing players to control bosses? Better than that one episode of Gurren Lagann where they let a friend be the animation and art-style leader for an entire episode. So I'm here watching Welcome to the NHK and I'm really enjoying it so far.
However, I hit Episode 19 and...
What happened?
I mean I know anime is a tough business and there can often be multiple animators taking on different episodes, so you notice differences in the animation quality but...wow. Never seen it take this much of a hit.
And I didn't just take a shot of a bad frame. It's been like this literally for the first minute of the episode. Even though it's a fairly serious moment going on.
EDIT:
Seriously it's still like this.
These aren't even action shots it's just people standing around and talking.
Man this was insane! Some of these were brutal! Lucas is really good!Oh hell Yes.
Best Smash Bros character.
Luckily it's only for that episode. So I'm here watching Welcome to the NHK and I'm really enjoying it so far.

That's still nothing compared to what I just saw.Better than that one episode of Gurren Lagann where they let a friend be the animation and art-style leader for an entire episode.
Standard
Episode 4.
The whole episode looked like garbage. What Buu posted was some of the prettiest animation from that episodeThat's still nothing compared to what I just saw.
Aside from about, 3 scenes, only one of which was majorly important, the entire episode looked like what I just posted.
But like, no faces meng. In straight up talking scenes. That's probably as bad as it gets. The whole episode looked like garbage. What Buu posted was some of the prettiest animation from that episode
And that this was a choice BY DESIGN, not having poor animation due to laziness/budget cutting an episode. The whole episode looked like garbage. What Buu posted was some of the prettiest animation from that episode

SMT x FE spoilers, but I just saw this on my tumblr.
Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Marth
I still love that the Disney block starts with Super Star Wars. They skipped the end credit scene for Devastation that teases a sequel.
Resident Evil HD next with Jill Sandwiches.
It was a screenshot from Facebook that somebody took and posted to tumblr and I saw that and took the screenshot from that.>Tumblr

U wot m8?
It's true though. Disney owns Star Wars, "All of it"I still love that the Disney block starts with Super Star Wars.
As the schedule says...
"Beginning of Disney Block. Star Wars is totally a Disney game now."
I just have one question, by that same logic. It's true though. Disney owns Star Wars, "All of it"
that reach for the quote though
I want to say that's intentional, though I haven't actually watched that show. I do know however that other shows by that studio - FLCL, Paranoia Agent, etc. - also use this art style from time to time, especially either for dramatic moments or when there's a lot of action going on.So I'm here watching Welcome to the NHK and I'm really enjoying it so far.
