So I just thought up a personal New Year's tradition that I'm going to start today.
In order to celebrate another great year of gaming ahead of me every New Year's day I'm going to pick a game franchise that I've never played before but developed an interest in trying out, and then play a game from the franchise to see if I can become a fan of it.
I'll be starting my new tradition this year with Shantae and the Pirate's Curse. I've been getting more into indie gaming as of late, and I've heard a lot of good things about this one. 1/2 Genie Hero has also piqued my interest, so I figured I'd hop into the franchise with the most critically acclaimed game in it. Looking WayForward to trying it out tonight!

Yeah, I don't understand why they don't let you play as the other kongs in single player when they are fully playable in multiplayer

You know what, I think I should really get back into Shantae. I've played Risky's Revenge and I enjoyed that quite a bit. Never really understood why I kinda left the series be after that. So I guess I'll go ahead and download the sequel off the eShop then. I've heard good things about it too. ^^

I have and I really want to watch it but I reeeeeeally don't want to watch it subbed and then be kicking myself when a dub comes out.

I did that with Rock Lee and His Ninja Pals and while I really enjoyed both versions, it was a little exhausting seeing the same 50 episodes twice.

My brother helped me decide on "Welcome to the NHK" though so I'm watching that.

Disclaimer: this thought is very unlikely to actually happen. It's just something that crossed my mind.

There's a common trend with Pokemon games these days. When a third version or gen remake appears during said gen's lifecycle, elements of the next version are incompatible with the original. Platinum disallowed use of Giratina-O in Wi-Fi(but not Link Battles), BW2 disallowed Black/White Kyurem and ORAS(afaik) disallows anything related to the Primals(including any possible Smeargle with Dragon Ascent, Precipice Blades or Origin Pulse), new Mega Stones, and Cosplay Pikachu from working with XY.

I think you can see where I'm getting at. Basically, an NX port that's backwards compatible with the Wii U version with the exception of any newcomers(which I very much don't see happening if they decided to port it).

This is quite likely to be flawed in many ways and I recognize that. It's just a random thought.

This could happen, but I think with something like Smash they would make it work. Although I could actually see the port( if it has exclusive characters) not working with wii u/3ds because they would need to have them working on there as well. Plus it defeats Sakurai's whole purpose of each version having the same characters.

Which could be twisted as Smash NX could be considered a different entry entirely.

Also sidenote:
I really hope when gen 6 games end, they patch them to all work with each other. It's kind of stupid that they don't.
