Here's that Zelda video that was supposedly behind the recent "leak":

I'm on team: it's fan made.

Looks fan-made since it's a bit different to Nintendo's style, but charming nonetheless. Kudos to whoever made it.

I didn't see any major problems with generations. I liked it

I've never played colors though so I can't compare

Neither Colours and Generations had major problems. Just small ones that might build up a little.

They're both fantastic games in any case.

If you guys haven't seen, @SmashCapps announced that he is retiring.

SmashCapps has been the center of all the Smash content on SmashBoards, and is the most prolific writer covering the competitive scene and issues. He's been responsible for most of the content on SmashBoard's front page for a long time. I'm really sad to see SmashCapps go.

That's unfortunate, but considering the plague of issues he has, I can't say I'm sad as it really does seem for the best and it seems like this decision will mean things can only go up for him.

Although I had my crticisms at times (and yeah, I'm aware I can be overly critical at times too), I still really enjoyed his articles (I mean there was a reason why I would often pop up to comment on them), and he seemed like a genuine dude who always looked to engage with his readers, and I've had some nice conversations with him myself in the comments of his articles. And I guess my criticisms seem petty in hindsight, knowing how much of a struggle this job was for him, I had no idea he had this much of a struggle with the job.

You will be missed but I'm not too sad because ultimately, your life can surely only go up from here and I think that's the most important thing here. Take care, @SmashCapps. And I look forward to whatever remaining content you have for us over the month of January. :)

I still can't laugh badly enough at people who still calls the game "Zelda U",if they believe it will release on NX.

Happy New Year guys. I'll admit, it's boring now since speculation period is over, but I'll try to stay active.

Looks like the Werehog really is in Sonic Runners.

I really like the attention to detail with his double jump animation actually being the one from Unleashed rather than just remaining in a ball. And how he runs on all fours for his high speed running animation.

That's highly unfortunate.

Hope Capps can improve his issues with this retirement.

In general, the community doesn't recognize the amount of effort this kind of job takes. I know this firsthand.

Creating content, especially writing--is very time consuming and very unappreciated. If you want to get famous in the Smash community, writing is not the best way to get recognized.

I'm ecstatic that Source Gaming is as popular as it is, but when compared to some YouTube channels we aren't as popular as we should be. Source Gaming has been behind 80% of all the Smash development news in the past year, and yet we have only 500 followers on Twitter. Compare that to random YouTuber/ Streamer who has thousands of followers and "fans". Not saying they don't deserve it/ aren't entertaining, but people in the community aren't actively rewarding people who create the content they consume, unless it's has those dank memes.

I easily spend 40+ hours working on Source Gaming content. I research, write, and edit work. When I'm not doing that I'm replying to emails, comments or talking about projects in the Source Gaming chat. It's a lot of work that people don't see. I spent 2 hours writing that article that I posted today. Then I worked on another article for another 1.5 hours. After that I checked some translations for another 1 hour, and spent 1-2 hours doing fan interaction, replying to emails, and tweeting from my account/ SG account. So yeah, I easily worked 5-6 hours on Source Gaming today, and the day isn't over yet.

Heck, there's not even an entry for @SmashCapps, anyone involved with the SmashBoards Writing Staff, or anyone involved with Source Gaming on the Smash Wikis. Clearly the community needs to refocus its priorities a little bit if it wants to grow. This post got 100x times the amount of votes than my post asking people to submit proof of when Sakurai has lied (and included evidence of times when the community was wrong).

Me blabbing about myself isn't suppose to detract from what @SmashCapps has done. Instead, I'm trying to illustrate how much work writing actually is. I know SmashCapps worked as hard as I do, and I hope my rant gives you an idea of 1. just how much work it is 2. how unappreciated it is.

While I can see for a random fan video Nintendo will show off for the series' 30th anniversary, there isn't much there to verify it's by Nintendo due to the lack of any reveals (and the "Only for Wii U" part makes me question it even more).

Oh I'm well aware of the effort writing, and content creation in general, will take, especially if you want to be as informative and factual as possible (partly from some of my own personal experiences). Hell, my own personal YouTube channel is a perfect example of "low effort content is often more well received than high effort content" (as it contains examples of both and yes, the low effort stuff is much more viewed), and it's why I've largely given up on YouTube for now. Though it never hurts to talk about it a bit.

I was more referring to @SmashCapps' own personal health issues and what not, and struggles with finding time for his wife and daughter, and his own depression. Like I said, it makes my criticisms of his content seem petty in hindsight. Considering the circumstances he's in, it's incredible he's managed to keep producing content with as much quality, and with such a consistent rate, as he has. That deserves nothing but praise.

Captain Phasma has been marketed as an important character when she plays a very minor role in the movie.

They got that part right

Phasma was a useless character, and honestly a trailer to the empire. Any true loyal soldier would have taken the shot - or tricked the people holding them hostage into believing she was lowering the shields but doing something else

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVERYONE!

Wow! Hard to believe that 2016 is now here! I made a few resolutions, so I am curious to see how it will look like next year haha

- Get my internship for my major done in the summer
- Enjoy senior year (Fall '16-May'17)
- Finish the upcoming spring semester as strong as possible (6 courses, 19 credits eeeeek)
- Apply for camps
- Lose weight (I'll gain it back once August hits lol)
- Think about what I want to do with my life
- Complete at least 5 games or so depends on my time and interest
- Actually try to have a girlfriend by Christmas (I'm 23 and never once spent Christmas with someone)
- Read bible more
- Get out there in the summer socializing to keep my ASL skills up
- Complete Final Fantasy VII, IX, and XIII (I'll save VIII for 2017)
- Try to post more
- Smash more
- Attempt a marathon with Power Rangers as the movie will come out next year
- MAYBE host a Survivor game on another site depends on who is interested. Would most likely happen in the summer time when I got more free time

Never spending Christmas with someone at 23 isn't very big

Try not spending Christmas ever with anyone at 30

Might as well celebrate together....with some Smash

Guess we just share a similarity with not having someone to spend it with after all. I mean...for me, seeing my nephew with his girlfriend and my niece was out of town, it felt weird for me because I thought I would be the first for many things, but from the view and the path I took with college, I'm the last and I'm realizing that while I'm bummed, it's alright because I truth the path I'm taking

BTW, its the Year of the Monkey in Japan, which explains why Nintendo is highlighting DK and Diddy Kong.

You really shouldn't find the Only on Wii U bit questionable, cause do remember, and everybody else who thinks this, the upcoming Zelda game, the theory about it coming to NX is still only a theory, not fact.

Effectively you guys maybe setting yourself up like those who said Wolf is guaranteed to return as DLC.

Remember just because it seems obvious to you, doesn't mean it is correct.

If I let other people's opinions affect what I thought I'd believe that Ocarina of time is trash.
