No, it isn't really.
Not if what I am stating is fact. To argue about something without a clear purpose in mind is blind arguing. To do so because you are overly passionate about a subject and cannot accept even slightly differing views on something, is blind fanboyism.
I was stating a fact. It would be an insult if I had malicious intent or if I was being insensitive, but I didn't/wasn't, I was trying to present a flaw in the way the argument was heading.
Also note:
That isn't what I said:
I said it would be fanboyism to CONTINUE trying to ram the SAME points into me, which is the territory the argument was heading in.
Also I wasn't bashing Corrin, so frankly, if you're sick of people bashing him, you're targeting the wrong person and only giving off the impression that Corrin's fanbase is overly hostile and will even target people who LIKE the character.
I flat out said, NUMEROUS times, that it was fine if people felt differently about Corrin though.
Except that's not what happened here. Something tells me you didn't read what happened.
Someone ELSE made the point that "Corrin isn't as unique as people make him out to be".
I concurred with that and gave my reasons.
People disagreed and tried to give some reasons. I acknowledged that was fine of them to think that but I thought the arguments were flawed and didn't change my mind.
Then people try to hammer those same points into me blindly despite me already saying it was fine of them to think what they think and I ultimately like the character anyway.
No, it doesn't. Never said it did.
But repeatedly trying to make someone do something after they have already said "no", is literally, by law, the definition of harassment.
I said that I didn't think Corrin was wholly unique. I said it was fine if people thought otherwise, and people tried to give me a few points to change my mind, but it ultimately was not enough for me.
They then repeatedly hammer those same points towards me even though I CLEARLY said they weren't going to change either my (ultimately positive) impression on Corrin, or my eventual purchase and enjoyment of him, and while they repeatedly hammer those points, they get increasingly hostile, going as far as to start name calling.
By legal definition, that is harassment. And if people are going to harass me over my opinions on a video game character whom I
still ulitmately have a positive impression of, then yes, it is a FACT, not an INSULT, that they are being blind fanboys.
