Yep...X-23 became the new Wolverine?
I thought it was largely unsuccessful outside Japan.fixed.
Seriously, the PSP did well in sales, but the big reason it did was because of CFW.
I knew that. Or at least that Logan was out of the picture.Yep...
...Cause Logan is six feet under covered in adamantium.
I'm gonna try to do oneSpeaking of manga/anime characters and Smash, some ideas of mine for character designs/gameplay concepts.
Son Goku - Dragon Ball
Not even a DBZ fan, but come on, having no Goku in a manga X Smash Bros. game would be like not having Mario in a main Smash game.
Anyway, he would essentially be Mario+Cloud with some similarities to Ryu. Basic, easy-to-learn jack-of-all-trades character, except he could charge a power bar to improve his moves a bit. Down special would charge the power bar and turn him into SSJ mode, improving his power temporarily. Up special would have him warp and float for a bit and the neutral special would be his iconic Kamehameha, a chargeable projectile like Samus's Charge Shot.
Eren Yaeger - Attack on Titan
Dual sword wielder plus a steam powered jet and latching wires! Some similarities to Pit's dual wielding would be obvious. A trained soldier, he would have a good balance of speed and power, the swords having moderate range. The latching wires could serve as a tether recovery, with the steam jet being material for a recovery up special. The Final Smash would have him transform into a Titan to wreck the opposition. Perhaps, the Titan form would have to be scaled down...
Edward Elric - Fullmetal Alchemist
Alchemy powers and his prosthetic metal arm give much room for creative moves. In that sense he could be a sort of "Swiss army knife" character in a similar vein as Mr. Game & Watch and Bowser Jr., having multiple shapes for his moves. He could also manipulate the ground: a down smash attack could be raising two pillars from the ground, one on front of him and another in the back.
Rin Okumura - Blue Exorcist
An half-demon katana wielder wreathed in blue flames. Kind of like Roy in the sense that he would combine swordplay and fire for a flashy fighting style. The sword blows could leave trails of fire that could serve as additional, though weaker, hitboxes. Neutral special move: Satan Slash, in which a flame blade-shaped projectile is fired using his sword, similar to Cloud's neutral special move. His down smash could be him stabbing the sword on the ground and form a blast of blue flames, hitting foes in an area.
Maka & Soul - Soul Eater
Soul Eater has the concept of people transforming into weapons for others to wield them. In this case, Maka is the one wielding Soul, who transforms into a scythe. Scythes are huge weapons and they would rely on attacking on a high range. Think like Marth except you have a bigger sour spot and more distance. Because a scythe is huge, for balancing purposes, they would be a slower, but powerful, fighter.
Yato & Yukine - Noragami
Similar to the above, except Yukine is a dual katana, each blade having a different size. Yato wields the bigger katana on his right hand and the smaller katana on a reverse grip on his left hand. A multi hit attacker, most of their moves would consist in two hits. Focus on speed with a lower than average attack power. In addition to this, Yukine, as a divine weapon, possesses powers such as Restraint to bind a foe in one place or Boundary, originally a defensive wall, but for Smash gameplay, it could serve as a reflector with a pushing effect, similar to Palutena's Reflect.
Ryuko Matoi - Kill la Kill
Though her scissor blade acts much like a sword, a way to make her stand out is having her use the abilities of her uniform Senketsu. In addition to one of its forms that has jets for a recovery move, Senketsu possesses the particularity of consuming Ryuko's blood to function, which would serve as the inspiration for a unique special move and mechanic. Using said special move, Ryuko could sacrifice 10~20% of her damage to power-up her moves temporarily. This move could be used repeatedly to extend the length of this upgrade, costing 10~20% of damage for each use. Her Final Smash would involve the the two scissor halves for a finishing blow.
Staz Charlie Blood - Blood Lad
An otaku vampire? Yep. And this guy could borrow some moves from other characters (such as Goku's Kamehameha) and generally act in a self-aware, fanboy-like manner. Think Street Fighter IV's Seth with vampire abilities, including biting opponents to suck their % (similar to Robin's Nosferatu). In addition, he's shown using magic abilities, which would naturally be incorporated into his moves somehow, even if only for aesthetic purposes. The Final Smash would be his move Heart Constriction: ZIP in which he grabs foes in a determined range and as if crushing a physical object, he would crush their hearts. Of course, this being a Smash moveset, this would mean a finishing move with insane knockback. A special move, Chew-Chew Drain, would have him bite an opponent and leave one of his teeth attached, sucking life at a distance temporarily. To represent his resilience as a vampire, he would be a heavyweight fighter, downplaying his agility a bit for balancing purposes.
I was thinking more on a spin-off rather than inserting anime/manga characters in a Smash game.
Basically take the Smash Bros. formula (gameplay and content), but instead of using Nintendo and some 3rd party video game IPs, use anime/manga franchises.
Another Sawano fan, I see.
And yes, he is an awesome composer. I greatly enjoy his work.
I could just dump a ton of my favorite songs from him here, but I've done so before on this thread and I've already spent over an hour writing this post.
Funny thing is, even after making X-23 Wolverine, they brought Old Man Logan from another universe into the main one:I knew that. Or at least that Logan was out of the picture.
I was just unaware his Rule 63 clone/adoptive daughter took up the mantle afterwards.
So much for being "dead" lol
But of course.Funny thing is, even after making X-23 Wolverine, they brought Old Man Logan from another universe into the main one:

I'll take "What Family Guy basically did and pissed off the majority of their fanbase," for $500, Trebek! But of course.
Logan is too important to be rid of permanently. So just kill off the current one and then bring in some alternate universe counterpart so that they can technically kill off Wolverine yet still have him around.
To be fair, they didn't bring in some alternate universe version of Brian. They just undid the event that resulted in his death.I'll take "What Family Guy basically did and pissed off the majority of their fanbase," for $500, Trebek!
It's a common trope. Is that the popular thing these days?
Replace a popular hero with someone different but CALL them the same thing?
Lucina is not just "girl Marth." She's a few thousand years his descendant. She merely takes his persona when she goes back in time, and it ends up dropped pretty quickly. She is completely her own character.Lucina is just Girl Marth.

I converted it to both FLAC and MP3 just in case you have a preference. That's it.
I'd appreciate it if you did. Careful of the comments, as there be spoilers.
Tropes Are Not BadIt's a trope I'm not fond of
I wouldn't worry about that. The way the American system is stacked Disney will constantly fund new extensions and loopholes to that to keep a hold of all Mickey Mouse stuff. Hell they were forced to make merch of one of those old "hide it in the vault" toons to keep it from going public domain.https://www.reddit.com/r/Marvel/comments/3yiolu/happy_93rd_birthday_to_stan_lee_excelsior/
"Copyright laws are written that the company owns a character up to 50 years after its creators death. For example, DC will lose the exclusive rights to superman in the next 20 some years.
Marvel on the other hand, still doesn't have to worry about this until almost the year 2060+ because of Stan's health."
That's actually mind blowing.
Happy birthday Stan Lee XD
Yeah, I'm not going to tbh, especially after I heard about the "hide it in the vault" stuffI wouldn't worry about that. If this is true, then Mickey will go into public domain next year.https://www.reddit.com/r/Marvel/comments/3yiolu/happy_93rd_birthday_to_stan_lee_excelsior/

That is a pretty interesting list of champions. However...I was a little surprised to see Wario a double champion and Puff lightweight when I was aiming for her in the women's division. Must be a WWE thing at the moment lolSSB World Champion
SSB International Champion
SSB United States Champion
SSB Japan Champion
SSB European Champion
SSB Xtreme Champion
SSB Coin Champion
SSB Time Champion
SSB Lightheavyweight Champion
SSB Women's Champion
SSB World Tag Team Champions
SSB Lightheavyweight Tag Team Champions
SSB Women's Tag Team Champions
SSB Mixed Tag Team Champions
So what do I win?
So if Superman is going to go into the public domain in 20 years, then Marvel could theoretically make a Superman movie and insert him into the MCU.https://www.reddit.com/r/Marvel/comments/3yiolu/happy_93rd_birthday_to_stan_lee_excelsior/

Please.Okay, I was originally debating on sharing it, but I thought, "Em, why not?". So I saw an anime thing about these girls fighting over whose boobs were bigger... Take that as you will.
I mean Japan is just so weird...
There's no argument going on, and nobody's bashing anyone's character picks. This is about people's refusal to let go of certain characters' failure to make the roster and accepting reality. The thing about the Smash community is there's too many arguments that go everywhere. Not to mention the everlasting immaturity called "salt". We all know Sakurai loves to troll with us and he done it multiple times. Smash has gotten to the point to where it's becoming toxic to the point of pointless arguments happen over characters fans cry for (Ridley, K Rool, etc), and why veterans need to come back. Not to mention we've all done our fair share of lasting out at some point (some of you maybe remember my f-bombs on Robin being revealed lmao) and it's now ridiculous. Would be nice if we all took a break from the series for awhile to let all the toxic out
Um... Wow... Just... Huh... That's pretty out there... I didn't think that'd beat an anime about girls competing over whose breasts were bigger, but I found it... Somehow...Please.
I can top that.
A fighting game of a beloved series where one story is someone fighting off the forces of the underworld on a quest to not be a flat chested tsundere.
Forget Daisy, I'm more interested in whether or not they're going to patch in support for Roy, Ryu, Cloud, Corrin, and Bayonetta.Oh. And by the way.
One step closer to Daisy, or even farther away? You decide! :V
I mean...Forget Daisy, I'm more interested in whether or not they're going to patch in support for Roy, Ryu, Cloud, Corrin, and Bayonetta.
I sorta doubt it, but still.
It'd be nice to see at least. Honestly, with how many costumes they've added with these patches I don't think it's too out there to imagine the remaining DLC getting Mario Maker costumes at some point in the future.Forget Daisy, I'm more interested in whether or not they're going to patch in support for Roy, Ryu, Cloud, Corrin, and Bayonetta.

They aren't necessarily good eitherTropes Are Not Bad
Yeah, I think Super Mario Maker is by far the most likely game to get support for the upcoming Smash DLC amiibo. It's already the only game that supports Mewtwo and Lucas, excluding the ones that give generic rewards to any amiibo. It'd be nice to see at least. The more important question... Will I get my Ryu and Bayonetta themed Wolly Yoshi?
...THAT is probably less likely. :V
Actually, Mewtwo had a costume in the game from the start. Lucas has one as well.I mean...
Does the Mewtwo amiibo work?
That's your answer.
Edit:
Prepare for Lucas through Bayonetta.
Not discrediting any of that, but can I just point out how hilarious this is?Also, I don't think anything is a bigger blow to Daisy than the Sky Pop costume.
Super Mario Land was her debut game and her only major role in the series to date, and they picked Airplane Mario to represent it.

I've been playing a lot of Xenoblade Chronicles X and I've got to say, Elma is perfect, just PERFECT, for Smash Bros!
To be fair, Smash speculation is basically over. All that's really left to discuss is details about the final wave of DLC in February, and there's not even much room for that, since we were told pretty much everything there is to know about it.Not discrediting any of that, but can I just point out how hilarious this is?
We've gone from fighter speculation to Mario Maker Costume speculation.
Oh, what a world, WHAT A WOOORLD.
Let's wait for a sequel first before we hit the bandwagon, shall we?I've been playing a lot of Xenoblade Chronicles X and I've got to say, Elma is perfect, just PERFECT, for Smash Bros!
