Most of the characters in Smash are actually iconic to some degree. We have a few niche guys like Earthbound and Kid Icarus character, FE too, but most of the other ones are iconic.

My point is that iconic is the wrong word to use for these characters. "Cult classics" is better.

Except WFT. She actually is iconic like it or not. Wii Fit sold the Wii.

I don't expect any of the FE cast to be cut honestly. There's nothing holding them back, so I see no reason to cut one of them. I could see Lucina possibly being de-cloned a bit further, in fact, I'm expecting that for Dark Pit as well. If it happened to the Melee vets, I could see it for the Smash 4 clones.

Tbh, there's no character I can see actually being cut, barring 3rd parties. With the Brawl vets, the ones that were cut had reasons as to why, except possibly Wolf and Lucas (However, not having a game in almost 10 years does put them on lower priority). With Smash 4, no one as of right now faces the problem that Brawl or even Melee vets had (Which consisted of clones, minus Mewtwo). MAYBE Shulk, Lucas, and Roy, but I'm really stretching for Shulk possibly being cut. The other 2 have popularity within the series helping them, just like Ness, Jigglypuff and Captain Falcon, so that helps those 2.

I thought he was more unique at first but after analysing him he definitely isn't. People are just caught up in the fact that he turns into a dragon for some things.

He still looks fun and I will get him, and I don't care that he is in he game nor am I salty, but people are overrating how unique he is.

Bayonetta is the real unique one of the two. Corrin is more just a hodge podge of quirky things from other characters with one or two things of his own, and everything looks unique aesthetic wise only.

I mean it's such a let down that the one move where he turns totally into a dragon, is a counter.

Oh and his Final Smash but it's still just a "cinematic" type Final Smash so functionally it's basically Mega Man's/Captain Falcon's.



But he also used that same logic for Dr. Mario, is what I am saying. Dr. Mario was stated as being put in the game purely for Melee fans.

I understand your point, but I'm talking strictly in terms of DLC.

Either way it confusing and doesn't make sense.

Let's talk about who has been cut and why.

Melee -> Brawl
:mewtwomelee::roymelee::drmario:: Planned, almost certainly worked on to some extent but time constraints. Blame SEGA causing issues about getting :sonic: in and the general development hell of the Subspace Emmisary.

:younglinkmelee:: He got replaced, both in Smash and in Zelda, by :toonlink:

:pichumelee:: Joke character late in development that had pretty much no reasoning other than "muh vets" for keeping him.

Brawl-> Smash 4
:lucas: & :wolf:: Presumably, just development time.
:squirtle: & :ivysaur:: When transformation characters couldn't work on 3DS, it was taken as a better choice to keep the most iconic and popular of the trio as a standing character instead of rebalancing all 3 as their own fighters.
:popo:: Sakurai removed gravity to try to get them to work.
:snake:: ??? We really don't know, but can only theorize. Could've just been a one-and-done favor. Could've been Nintendo forbidding work with Konami. We just know that Kojima said that he nor Konami were APPROACHED for Snake to return. Since Sakurai had a roster, in some mostly-solid form, set before the development started... he wasn't meant to return.

So who could/would be cut for Smash 5?

If a fighter works on 3DS, I can't see them not working with the next HANDHELD let alone console if they keep it to just that. If it is to be Smash NX, that game running Dragon Quest XI alone should give us no doubt on processing power greater than the 3DS.

If you haven't watched Steins;Gate or Gurren Lagann yet, do it. Both are ~25 episodes but worth it. S;G in particular being one of the best dubbings I've seen.

  • Samurai Flamenco (22 eps)
  • Kyoukai no Kanata (12 eps and a movie sequel)
  • Noragami (12 eps w/ an ongoing second season)
KnK has an English dub, not sure about the rest.

Is OPM English Dubbed?

I am greatly interested in it but I don't want to watch it subbed if it's definitely getting a dub.

I ended up watching Rock Lee and His Ninja Pals subbed because I was told it wasn't getting a dub. Then it did get a dub and I watched it all over again.

The closest thing to that E. Honda styled tanky fighter is Machamp.

Funnily enough I have heard of both. We had a review project last year in college and my friend decided to review Parasyte. As for Space Dandy, I've seen bits and pieces of it everywhere through gifs and what not.

Lucina being iconic to Fire Emblem means she's iconic to most o the Nintendo fanbase, so she fits in very well in a game that is mainly a Nintendo crossover game, I'd say she and Dixie are about on the same level of iconic-ness, easily recognisable to Nintendo fans, but not necessarily the gaming pulic as a whole.
