Not surprising given how barren the releases have been for Wii U this year. Coupled with the majority of them being average or worse I'm not surprised.

That said the only release on Wii U this year I even remotely cared for was Xenoblade.

I ordered Xenoblade 2 days ago and I can not wait to get it, since it'd my first time first time playing the series. I got it for $48, and that's a good deal.

Splatoon really is a good game, though. I have over 500 hours put into it, and it's my most played game probably ever. 2nd on the Wii U is Hyrule Warriors with 230, and 3rd on the Wii U is MK8 with just 60. tbh the only game on the Wii U I care about now is Splatoon. Hoping Xenoblade will get as much playtime.

Amiibo are a sensation.
DLC has gotten better and better with Nintendo.
We have more third parties working on first party IPs.

The NX is on the way.
Mobile gaming has started.
Rumored Netflix and Movie IP titles.
Nintendo amusement park.

They did more this year with announcements than any game company ever has, as far as I am concerned.

I played with Cloud online today on the Wii U version, and lost a few times, and won two matches online. Cloud is a great character to play as, even though he's a 'glass cannon' but at least he's not as light as Mewtwo was, although if there was to be a Smash 5, hopefully Sakurai or his potential successor fixes and balances Cloud out, I mean if there was to be another Smash game.

I have my fingers crossed, I'm thinking little was given because the FFVII Remake is in development, and they probably didn't want to let spoilers out through Smash 4, I can see the Veterans added by DLC, Mewtwo, Lucas, and Roy sticking around for Smash 5, and characters like Bayonetta, Ryu, and Corrin sticking around for Smash 5, although I hope Cloud is a mainstay when it get's there, either by DLC or in the base game.

Yeah, I can see Bayonetta sticking around for the next Smash, as she is a SEGA character, and Sonic was in Brawl and Smash 4. Bayonetta is going to be one of my mains in Smash 4, too, so I doubt she'll get cut that easily, and I also have hopes for Ryu being in the next one, too.

I think Bayonetta is likely to not return, as well, but I'd put Cloud slightly ahead of her for the reason given by S Strofirko , combined with Sakurai's own words regarding how difficult it was to get him in (While he said the same of Bayonetta, I think it's a safe assumption that Cloud's issues were negotiating and getting the rights to use him, while Bayo's issue was the use of firearms and the suggestive themes she brings to the table).

I know he's been requested since Melee, but my point was that we don't know for a fact that he was included as a Mii Costume in Smash 4 because of those requests, because there has been no official statement on it. It's just a scenario that makes sense for now, and I've already said I agree with that since the beginning, but it is JUST that right now, and nothing more. The actual reason could end up entirely different though.

I personally don't give two ****s why such and such a thing was included at this point (bar Rosalina & Luma, as they are the only newcomer in the game so far that he hasn't made any comments behind their reasons for inclusion from a "popularity/notoriety" standpoint, as far as I'm aware), especially minor stuff like Mii costumes, all that matters to me personally is that stuff is in the game now and it's making people happy. But it still bothers me how people will come up with a theory that makes total sense from what we can see, but it ISN'T 100% confirmed, and people will act like it is and act as if there can't possibly be another reason behind it.

That's largely why I stopped liking Smash 4 speculation, because that attitude became all too prevalent, especially with stuff like Gematsu.

Also him listing Geno as a Mario character doesn't mean anything in that poll. Because Geno technically is a Mario character - a Mario character owned by Square Enix. He'd still have to go through licensing discussions either way, regardless of where he listed him.

I think I'll let you guys know about my thoughts on Smash 4, and my rating on it.:

The roster of characters of these two versions is incredible, and huge, and brought a lot of popular characters to the table, like Bayonetta, Ryu and Cloud, and brought in interesting characters like the Duck Hunt Dog and Villager. I like Smash 4's roster, as it has a sheer amount of characters, and is well made ,in my opinion.

The game has a lot of great and fun stages, such as Super Mario Maker, and has so much music in the game for all of them, and are great to hear.

There are a lot of modes that were so much fun, such as Classic Mode, I really like dhow they handled Classic Mode on the 3DS and Wii U, with the latter makes things more challenging for me, and I really like that, and I used Crazy Orders to get more gold to participate in Classic Mode. I find Smash Tour fun, too, as it reminds me of Mario Party, but in its own way.

I also liked how DLC was handled in this iteration, as it felt unique than other DLC I've seen in other games.

Smash 4, overall for me, is an amazing and great iteration, of Super Smash Brothers, and is my favorite of the series, and I prefer it over the previous Smash games. 10/10.

This game took a toll on Sakurai, as Smash 4 may be his last game, and if this was the last Smash game period, then this iteration went out with a Final Smash, and hopefully, Sakurai get's a long vacation, as this feels like a great conclusion to the Smash series.

Crash being higher than Sonic.....never thought I would see the day. Granted that is a really limited poll, and it's also by 1 vote, but I find it funny regardless.

I feel like the only cut that could possibly happen for Smash 5 in terms of 3rd parties is Cloud. As mentioned before, with how little content he has, I feel like it may still be hard to bring him back for next game. Sonic is practically guaranteed with the close relationship of Nintendo and Sega, so Bayonetta coming back is likely if she also gets a new game (Also removing a character that was added specially because of fan demand sounds like a bad idea). Megaman and Ryu have a good shot as well, considering how much love Capcom got in this game (Didn't Sakurai say Capcom was fairly easy to negotiate with?). Pacman should also be easy to bring back, considering how Bandai Namco helped co-develop this game, and might possibly do it for the next game. Unless Konami gets their **** together, Snake may never see the light of day again.

I just really don't want to see anyone get this game. If anymore were to be added (besides Snake), I think Crash and Laura Croft would be perfect.

Sega is easy to work with. As is Platinum Games. Nintendo has a huge part in the series now and was included by winning the ballot. Only issue is that she's not very kid friendly, but they got her to work anyways. I feel her lack of pedigree may hurt her but the ballot is a strong point in her favorite. Likely to stay. She may never get another game but I feel the ballot makes sure that won't be counted against her regardless, no one has been kicked out due to lack of recent titles. I suppose there are complaints of realism but eh.....

Namco has always had good relations with Nintendo. Will always be relevent because it's ****ing Pac-Man. Now that they have got him, they'd be idiotic to not use him in the future. Again, it's ****ing Pac-Man. No one will not want him. Likely to return.

Will never stop being relevent. Capcom has never been on bad terms with Nintendo and neither has the Street Fighter series despite its prominence on other consoles. Not much going against him other than potential directors not liking him or unpredictIble events. Has no real reason to go. Has a few complaints of realism but those are rather unfounded. Likely to return.

Again Capcom and Nintendo are cool. Was included due to massive requests despite lack of recent titles and the creator leaving. No real reason to go as that would cause an amount of backlash almost as big as Sonic's potential removal. No real reason to go. Synonymous with Nintendo. Likely to return.

The most hard to predict. On one hand, Square Enix is a ***** to work with. On the other end, and I don't think people stress this enough, they said YES. The actually let another company use their IP. And not just any IP. Their pride and joy and that IPs's poster boy. That is momumtal is itself. Just goes to show how big Smash is. Square and Nintendo have had a shaky history but they've been patching it up in recent years with both companies making great gestures towards each other. I only see their relationship improving from this point on. Cloud admittedly is more synonymous with Sony and Playstation, but it seems Square doesn't think he has to be. Plus Final Fantasy as a whole is a big part of Nintendo history. I feel that he would have more content if he was a Vanilla fighter but eh, water under the bridge. I can't say with certainty but I feel he can make it. It say it's close to 50/50 but more likely than not.


Snake. Buddy. What the hell happened? You had a chance before but Konami's ****buttery has destroyed your chances moving forward unless your IP gets saved from their evil clutches. Now that aside. We don't know why Snake didn't return. Too mature or realistic? Bayonetta and Ryu seem to counter that. Moreover, Snake was included in the first place. Raising the rating? Maybe but I'm not too sure. Bayonetta made it in and other games has included realistic weaponry with an E10 rating. Even firearms. Did Konami say no? I'm not sure. Kojima said he was never asked but it's possible Sakirai went to Konami first and got shot down. Was it Nintendo? Again maybe. The thing with Konami and Snake is that no companies leadership goes unchanged. Things seem dire now, but there is literally no way of knowing what the relationship between Konami and Nintendo will be like in 5-6 years.
