I actually stated this earlier as well. I loved chronicles, a sequel would have been great! Chronicles are literally multiple installments, so why is there only one?

So I have beaten Undertale twice and got two endings.

I don't know what the fandom calls them, but I call them Normal Pacifist and True Pacifist and I fought each respective final boss.

All I have left to do a genocide run. And then I'll just look everything up.

So, with me accomplishing this. I have come to a conclusion.

Undertale
is
NOT
the best game ever. However, it is still a pretty good game and it is obvious a lot of effort was put into it.

What were my problems with it? I mentioned before, but the constant rule breaking was annoying. It also doesn't have that much to do in it compared to other games. Yeah, it's pretty big, but if we are going to talk best game ever, it's going to need much more.

However, it is unique. It has surprises and very well thought out puzzles. And the characters are all excellent of course.

But I have to be honest. This game has all the ingredients of a game mostly celebrated from hype.

It has sad moments. Which means there are probably people who cry from it. Which means people will go "this game made me cry." Which will then of course make people to remark that because it managed to do that, it is now the best game ever. I wonder when people will realize it is so easy to make people cry in games.

There is of course all the twists both gameplay, story, and joke wise. Which are going to make people think it is the best game ever because lore.

Speaking of, I feel like it was overall missing something. I think it should've had like one more town or something. Because honestly, it feels kinda empty for a land filled with monsters.

Also, the true pacifist final boss was disappointing to me. I prefer the normal pacifist final boss even if that one was incredibly unfair. It was however incredibly unique. I have let to face or see the Genocide final boss. (I know who it is though).

DETERMINATION is forced a bit too much.

Even if there is plot reasons for it.

But I do have to stress, it is still a good game. Even if it is consumed by hype, people shouldn't forget a lot of love was put into this game. And if I recall, it was mainly one guy. Quite like Cave story. It is still fun and, excluding playing again to get all the endings, still has a nice amount of replay value.

Is it for everyone? No. In fact, I'm not even sure the kinds of people I would recommend this to and also not recommend this to.

I understand the arguments against posting leaks in this thread, but for the new people that have joined this thread something needs to be understood.

The leaks group had to move here. It was either move here or disband completely. A lot of the people here enjoy talking about development, leaks and culture. It's part of the expected discussion for this thread.
