I'll take Dr. Yoshi if no one has chosen it. I expect Dr. Mario to carry Yoshi because he's obviously the better character.

I think it's the difference between trying to find out what you can about a movie when it's announced to the gradual change of avoiding spoilers before you see it yourself and punching those (or wanting to) that do spoil in the throat.

I've actually almost always disliked leaks. Some of the most significant ones have lead to lots of dividing, conflict, and hate in this community, and when they turn out to be false, it's pretty much safe to say nothing good came of them.

Though I guess after a while they began to teach the community to hold less faith towards them, so many future leaks usually didn't leave behind the exact same effect, so at least the community would learn from them over time and tread more carefully.....then again, this is a lesson that wouldn't need to be learned if leaks never even happened in the first place (decent fake ones and true ones, anyway)

It's not in the title and it wasn't created to be such, the only reason it is treated like so is because most of the Leaks Group's members came here after it ended
Really, it was already a social thread before anyways considering we stopped having leaks after the games were released
Besides, there are several users here that weren't in the leaks group and didn't come in here for them

This is something I've had in mind for quite a while now, ever since I began doing the Developer History thread and even more so after the game was released more than a year ago, but I've been thinking about doing a retrospective article in regards to the last 4+ years of speculation.

We hear all the time about the revival of the competitive community, which is very much due to dedicated Melee fans, but in terms of the Smash community as a whole, as well as arguably Nintendo and gaming in general, Smash 4's development cycle/Sakurai Magic has been arguably the key aspect to the current renaissance we see today.

Some aspects I'd like to focus on would be the original 2011 announcement, E3 2012 & the creation of the Smash 4 board, E3 2013, Nintendo Directs, Bandai Namco & 3rd Parties, Leaks, amiibo, Social Media, DLC, and Nintendo's increased involvement in the Smash community.

Would anyone be interested in reading something like that? With the final patch/update potentially coming next week, I thought it might be time to look into this idea again.

I'm not trying to paint myself as a special snowflake. It's just that a few of us just mentioned we don't like leaks, then suddenly all of these pseudo-intellectual comments that go like "I love how people react fine to this kind of leak and then don't like another kind of leak", or something along those lines, start popping up, as if trying to brush off the opinions of those who don't like the leaks as some kind of hypocrisy, when most of us saying we don't like leaks always thought this way. It really does just come across as "I saw one person on the internet say one thing, then saw another person on the internet say another, so they all must be hypocrites and their thoughts don't mean anything!".

Once again, this thread is not the Leaks Group thread. It's different. Not everyone here was a member of it. Also, people can change their minds. There can't really be a general atmosphere when new people come in and out of this thread all of the time, it's just a melting pot of people with different thoughts on the matter.
