I think 2 characters + 2 stages in addition to Cloud + Midgar. DLC finished by the end of January...possibly February...? but everything will be announced as this is the last Smash broadcast (with the exception of some of the Mii Costumes maybe?).

All characters will be newcomers, unless Wolf is the last character.

Shovel Knight rumor -> 20% confident in.

Inklings make a lot of sense to get in.

Besides that, it's anyone's guess who can get in.

It's not even about icon status or lack thereof.

People just, for some reason, lump him together with characters like Goku and Shrek as troll suggestions. Which makes no sense, because the only reason Cloud was ever deemed unlikely was because of a rule that never actually existed and was nothing more than an assumption on the part of fans.

Yes, he is a badass but the Tartakovsky version just makes him way too overpowered, I mean, yeah, he is the Jedi Killer but no one can beat 4 Jedis on his own
Episode III Grievous is powerful but not to exaggerated levels, he is still a ruthless killer but he knows his limits and tries to run away when he meets them and uses whatever he has in hands to his advantage
You know, maybe that's why I like mechanical villains so much, they're always killing machines
