All characters that didn't make it into Playstation All Stars

Even the characters that made it into Playstation All Stars warent in theyr preffered Sony-related incarnations (Raiden, Dante). That game was such a **** show, and its a shame, maybe if Sony gave two flying crocs and actually invested the money and effort required to make it on the level of Smash it would have be something, but this game was never about that, it was a quick cash in againts the actual developer's better judgement. That the true casualty of this game, the studio that tried so hard to make something out of nothing, and they almost did, but then got disbanded.

Yeah probably nothing, especially as multiple games will be worked on too.

When Generations came out, I thought Sega had finally found a nice direction with Sonic

Then Lost World came out. It looked like Sonic Galaxy. It played really weird.

Then Sonic Boom came out.


I kind of want them to make a game with that style, but have Knuckles and Tails playable. And, like the old school way where all the stages are the same but can be beat differently with the characters unique abilities.

Edit: Ooh, and have multiplayer options where the players can interact. Like how Tails could pick up Sonic.

You know, I'm actually surprised people (unintentionally) dismiss Eggman as a potential 2nd Sonic rep, when he's got all the criteria for it.

Problem is that Sakurai has historically always gone with the side kick or second face of the franchise before the rival or main villain. Luigi before Bowser, Zelda before Ganondorf, and Falco before Wolf. So it's actually logical for us to assume that Sakurai would go for adding Tails before Eggman if the Sonic franchise were to get a second representative.

Brawler fits like a glove for me but I find Gunner more interesting and fun.

I didn't think heroes was bad

But I obviously didn't understand anything about it when I played it. I OWNED it, got it free. Played it every once in a while.

It's still flawed but it at least knew what it was trying to be.

From what I understand, it's a very love it or hate it game.

I think there are more people who love it nowadays though.

SA, SA2 and Heroes are becoming the games that people look fondly too, even if they were flawed.

Actually, reading a bit into it, it seems the company is still active, Sony just cut all ties with them and they ware presumed disbanded since they went dark for some time. Yea, the sales ware lackluster from what I heard, dunno what Sony expected.

Would go call SA2 the most overrated.

I think SA, SA2 and Heroes are going through what Final Fantasy 7 and Ocarina of Time went through.

• Majority starts blindly praising it
• Then the Majority starts blindly hating it
• Finally, the majority stops being blind and accepts and appreciates it for what it is, flaws and strengths

It happens a lot with the late 90s to early 2000s games nowadays.

Sonic Adventure aged the poorest but had the best core design and most ambition. I'm mostly able to overlook how it's aged as a result, at least in terms of my personal play time with it, and it's one of my favourite games as a result.

Sonic Adventure 2 aged a little better but had less ambition in the core gameplay and was more stripped down IMO. And it made a lot of weird design decisions in general.

Sonic Heroes aged the best and found a good middle ground in terms of how ambitious it was. However, it was trying somewhat of a new formula and they didn't quite work out all of the kinks in just the one game, and haven't given it a sequel to iron things out.

The 4Kids voice cast I found to be extremely annoying with the exception of Eggman's. Literally the only good voice.

I suppose I'm in the minority in that I like most of them.

The only ones I actively dislike are Shadow and Boom.

The others were either okay, fun or forgettable.

It's not the same obviously but it's still good.

It's a shame the 3DS version is what it is as I think it had so much more potential. That said, I do think it's more solid of a 2D Sonic game than either Sonic 4s; it just feels right IMO, even more so than the console Generations (also has a good Final Boss fight).

I really wish they delayed it a bit more to give it the same level count as the console version, or at least had used stages solely from the Game Gear/GBA/DS titles.

Honestly?

It's bad, but I can't hate it.

It's ultimately fun. I can goof around for hours in it.

Moreover, I feel that 06 has some great ideas and framework that just need to be tweaked (and finished).

I wasn't even particularly miffed until half way through Silver's story.

It exceeded my expectations.
