I'm a huge fan of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers games. But Gates to Infinity was the worst pile of trash on the planet.

Those who have Super Mystery Dungeon, is it worth picking up?

That's some extreme hyperbole, Gates to Infinity is far from the worst game ever.

Yes, I highly recommend it! I've beaten it fully, and I am working on end game stuff.
A Quick overview:
The game's graphics are pretty good( slightly more polished then gates)

It fixes every problem gates had. There is a epilogue and lots of interesting connection orb missions available post game. You also collect an expanded list of treasures modeled after what Sky did.

The main story is freaking amazing! I've said it before, but it's so well written. There are 21 chapters and an epilogue. The last 5 chapters are really interesting and throw so many plot twists out there. It's got a lot of content and thought for a story. Imo it's almost as good as Time/darkness/sky's.

The music is also really good, and like the previous 3 games mentioned, coincides nicely with the story.

The game also gets pretty difficult at times, but we the easy access to items, you should be able to have a good balance.

Another Note: As stated the game can be difficult and you an get some really high leveled pokemon early on( After each mission, you automatically get that pokemon). However for balance reasons, this pokemon will stay for one adventure and be unavailable for the next few so you can't cheat the system.

Basically, if you like the big 3 in the series( Time/Sky/Darkness) you will probably enjoy this one! It's very polished, and makes a complete and classic entry into the series. It has new mechanics like the emeras( which temporally power you up in dungeons), many callbacks to every PMD, and is very enjoyable.

Because let's be real, Midgar looks to be a pretty flashy and chaotic stage. Any ideas on what they may alter? Because I feel like they'd try to at least keep some summons in it.

Only 1 or 2 summons per time the stage is loaded, if Mario Maker is an indication.

I believe I have said this before as well. I don't hate gates. I really liked the main campaign, but the shop building, house goal and no post game were pretty dumb, as well as the lack of pokemon you could get. I do believe gates was filler for SMD though, it makes a lot of sense if you play both.

I mean, they did screw up with limited starter Pokémon and the story which isn't as good as Explorers. I think it has a few better songs over Super Mystery Dungeon though, mainly the Boss Battle. The rock version is just okay.
Not really feeling the final boss theme either; I think Bittercold's was better. I think I need to hear it again lol.

It's the fact Guile's ****ing Theme is not in the mother****ing game.

Biggest injustice of Ryu's inclusion.

That and a lack of a Chun Li Mii Fighter Outfit.

Yeah, starter selection is very important to these games. I agree that some tracks are better then others between the two, I do like SMD's final boss track more( at least for the second half). Both are pretty good though.

I honestly don't get the vitriol it gets sometimes. I can understand it being a disappointment, it made a few missteps that shouldn't have been made, but treating it like it's an abomination that should be bashed to hell and back? I don't agree with that at all as I don't think its missteps are anywhere near that level, nor did it lack any good points that didn't stand out.

Then again, maybe I'm an oddball because I personally liked the story and characters of Gates. The former element wasn't to the level of Explorers by any means, but it was still something that I did like playing through nonetheless.

Yeah, Guile's theme being missing was an missed opportunity for me as well since I love it. It also worries me when it comes to Midgard since there are many themes from FF, hell even just FF7 itself, that would be perfect for the stage, but could be skipped over.

Let's be honest here it would never be a big announcement for a small up start award show, that has a focus around American gamers only. It isn't E3/The Tokyo Game Show, so why the hell would they announce anything amazing like a new 3D Mario game or a mainline Metriod game.

The fact that Nintendo even bothered to allow Retro to show Cranky at the awards show should make people grateful, expecting something along the lines of an amazing announcement is down right foolish to be completely honest.

The Splat/Smash Bundle is REALLY helping sales.

Putting the Wii U's two defining games together with the console was a brilliant move.

And those numbers are showing and showing well.

I'm back for a bit because I have access to A computer. Not one of mine, of course. Family drama including my parents happened, so worst came to worst.

As a result, the only thing I've had to play on is my 3DS. Which made me try out Fire Emblem Awakening for the first time. Which leads me to ask, why didn't anyone tell me that the game had such a fabulous trap in it known as Libra?
