We're seriously going for the "It might not have been Cloud" argument? Again?

So, if it wasn't Cloud, then who was he referring to? It was immediately after Direct, and he asked for our opinion on it. Does "Hey, you just saw this Cloud trailer. Can I have your opinion on this character I haven't announced yet?" really make sense to you?

And if he's not talking about the ballot, then who was responsible for the "difficult request" he fulfilled? Because neither Square (who rarely do crossovers in games they didn't develop themselves) nor Nintendo (who allegedly weren't keen on using Snake in Brawl) make very much sense.

Speaking on recent releases, how is Star Wars Battlefield? Battlefront? Come on now, we both know that title is a marketing ploy.

I keep hearing two far differing views on it. Either it's awesome or betrayal. Someone help me out here?

First off i dont own the game so this opinion is based on streams.

Personally i feel super betrayed. The first 2 are some of my favorite games ever. I sunk so many hours into instant action and galactic conquest it isnt even funny.

This is very clearly not a battlefront game. I think the only thing that stayed was 3rd person.

Other than that. . .as much as i hate to admit it. . . The game looks fun. Look past the title it will probably be a super fun game assuming EA doesn't do stupid things

Pretty much this.

The game is fun but not $60 fun, it's not even $40 fun unless you play online because the single player isn't worth a purchase at all.

And then there's the Season Pass that's only $10 short of having a full game price tag, that's insane and it's probably gonna work because everyone is just giving into the Star Wars hype.

The game looks and (for the most part thanks to shoddy voice acting) sounds like Star Wars.
It's severely lacking in content. The Season Pass has more maps than the base game.

It screams being rushed for Episode 7.

Fox's render is from Zero.

Interestingly, TP Link's render hasn't been used for TPHD promo material, so it was likely just new art for the sake of having Link not be the only hand drawn character in there (at least that's my theory)

I discussed this with Burb a while back saying that people will still push the idea that more characters have to come even if DLC is finished and Sakurai is either starting a new unique project or is playing with his cat.

It's just the nature of the beast and if DLC is finalized and the last characters are expected (Wolf and Inkling), people can't and won't accept that and will believe any trashy fake leak with either K. Rool, Banjo, Shantae, Ice Climbers and even Shovel Knight in it and push it hard just so they can believe any of their favorites still have a chance


It's why Tower of Smash got so far as it did.

Speaking of which, I sometimes question whether or not we overstate the iconic status of certain characters. For example, I'm sure many of us who have been gaming for a while know who Bomberman is, but considering how Konami has treated him since their acquisition of his parent company Hudson Soft, I'm not sure if many people who started gaming two, three, or even five years ago know of him and I get the impression that he faded into obscurity.

Another example is Castlevania (not just Simon Belmont, but the series as a whole). Sure, it's a long-running and well-respected series, but if I'm not mistaken, most of the Castlevania games released in the past decade or so haven't even reached one million copies in sales.

Maybe I'm just overthinking this.

I heard they're changing Steam Sales so that instead of Daily Deals when games are on sale it will be at their lowest price. I think this is a side effect of the new refund policy that European law demanded they add. They'll need some incredible Steam Card gimmick to make up for the lost panic buy sales.

That's why I said most. I'm fully aware that Lords of Shadow is currently the best-selling entry in the series, and good for it.

I really liked Lords of Shadow, but I didn't like the direction they took the second game and never picked it up.

The Metroid-vanias were suffering from diminishing returns for years on handhelds, with Circle of the Moon being just under a million and Order of Ecclesia being under 400k. Still not TERRIBLE numbers.

Lords of Shadow 2 bombed so hard, though. With Konami being Konami I doubt we'll see anything new for a bit.

Lords of Shadow was alright. Nothing really special but I'm just surprised over the sales of the game


It's Lords of Shadow 2 and Mirror of Fate that pissed me off. Those games were really awful and soured a lot of fans on the series including me.

It made me want an actual Classicvania game again moreso than IGAvania or a God of War clone.

And this is coming from someone who's hyped for Bloodstained

Though, JJ DID set up for Nuke of all people, so there's that. Claire's definitely gonna be the Nick Fury for the Defenders, bringing them all together and such.

Also I love Luke Cage. Such a great character. Glad he's getting his own show next.

Let me just tell you one thing, as someone who lost a lot of weight over the past year.

You don't need some crazy vigorous routine. You don't need an insane diet. You don't need to work so hard that you sweat in places that don't even sweat. And you sure as HELL don't need some program or DVD or dumb crap like that.
For a month, all I did was go to the gym 3 times a week, use a treadmill for maybe a half hour or so at a brisk jogging pace, then just do some light weight lifting and any other machine you feel would benefit you. Maybe like, say, 1 1/2-2 hours, 3 days a week. For the record, my eating habits are atrocious thanks to my aspergers, I eat so much god awful food and maybe an apple here and there if I'm feeling up to it.
With just that, I lost about 20 pounds in a month. I'm not some ripped jockey or anything, but by keeping that up I'm within range of a healthy BMI.
People who want to get in shape do so much crazy ****, but you really don't have to. Just keep a brisk pace, work 3 times a week with at least a days break in between each one, and you'll be noticing differences without having to placebo or murder yourself. Just do all that or something similar, cut down on portions every so slightly, and you'll make it through just fine.
Of course, going harder or softer than what I do is all up to you. I'm just trying to emphasize how ****ing dumb some people can get when trying to lose weight.

Start slow, try to do cardio for 30 minutes 2-3 times a week. Cut out soda, bread, and anything that you eat regularly that has a lot of sugar.

I have no experience so I'll just repeat some stuff I heard elsewhere. Don't go on any crazy diet plan. Just get into an exersize routine and keep track of your overall calorie intake.

And most importantly, don't think of a goal, think of keeping up your regime. Otherwise when you hit your goal you'll think it's ok to go back to the old diet.

The first Lords of Shadow was decent. I don't dislike reboots, and it did a lot of world building. I liked that it didn't feel like a classic Castlevania right out of the gate.... because Castlevania and Dracula did not exist at the time. It was a slow build...and I appreciated that. The issue was that the sequels should have felt a LOT MORE like classic Casltevania's, what with Dracula and Castlevania firmly in place. There were no classic enemies (Mermen and Medusa heads being the biggest omissions in my opinion), no classic music... it just didn't seem like a Castlevania.

For the record, I don't care about the lack of RPG elements or explorations. The classic games were just really solid action plaftomers. That's the heart of the series, so was fine.

So we've been at my Aunt's house since then. A major problem is, however, that I'm highly allergic to cats.... And we're in a house full of cats.... Thus my allergies have been making me feel absolutely miserable and depressed. So I can't really have fun or joy with anything like I usually can, I just physically can't. *sigh* My whole break is probably going to be waisted. So peace out until I can enjoy myself.
