Somehow I find it unsurprising that the three more wanted third party characters are "all-stars".
Speaking of which, I sometimes question whether or not we overstate the iconic status of certain characters. For example, I'm sure many of us who have been gaming for a while know who Bomberman is, but considering how Konami has treated him since their acquisition of his parent company Hudson Soft, I'm not sure if many people who started gaming two, three, or even five years ago know of him and I get the impression that he faded into obscurity.
Another example is
Castlevania (not just Simon Belmont, but the series as a whole). Sure, it's a long-running and well-respected series, but if I'm not mistaken, most of the
Castlevania games released in the past decade or so haven't even reached one million copies in sales.
Maybe I'm just overthinking this.
