Y'know, I can't think of a nice way of saying it... but seeing the the discussion switch to SJW agendas at the drop of a hat is incredibly draining. It's bad enough that even ignoring the source doesn't help because the entire discussion devolves into talking that person down.
(Disclaimer: The 'you' in this little diatribe isn't directed at anyone in particular.)
So, you want to be a social justice warrior? May I offer some sincere advice?
Look, we all get it. Feminism is good, and if you're fighting for the good guys, you can't be wrong, right? So you grant yourself a license to run around with a shiny sword and shield and swing them around at bad guys. Is this wrong? Well... no, not exactly - that is, unless you forget to bring along the most important thing to bring along with any weapon: restraint.
If a cop uses his gun to shoot everyone in their path, should he be allowed to keep his badge? If you're just sitting around having a discussion with your friends, and a cop randomly decides to sit down and monitor your conversation, does it not make you feel uncomfortable? "But he's upholding the law - he can't be wrong."
If that's a little too melodramatic for you, then consider this; What do you do when you constantly hear a noise that you can't get rid of? It becomes white noise, and you ignore it. If your goal is to promote positive change, then you can't do that if everyone's ignoring the message. Don't repeat the message every single time an opportunity presents itself! We're all just going to become numb to it. If you swing your sword at every little shadow that crosses your path, eventually your sword becomes dull.
I'm not saying don't be the hero of justice you want to be; I'm merely suggesting that you can be much more effective by exercising restraint. You can't come in and just exercise your authority without first gaining our respect. Try viewing us as genuinely good people with decent hearts first and as targets second, not the other way around. Your message will travel much farther.
TL;DR; This may not be the best place to exercise your authority. The grand majority of us are not terrible, disgusting people. We're here to talk about video games - you can't blame us for not being receptive to a feminism debate every 10 pages.
