Can I say something that'll probably be criticized?

Sometimes I think Nintendo would be better off if Miyamoto stepped away from producing games for awhile.

Don't get me wrong, the man is an absolute genius and you cannot criticize his work.

I just feel like a lot of this experimentation with control seen in the last few years is driven from him. He clearly has an understanding of the strengths in making games feel more real and more immersive, however sometimes I think he is barking up the wrong tree.

Obviously I'm not talking about every game he's made since the Wii U released, but if you look at his gameography he is a producer or supervisor on a lot of games with unique gimmicks.

Most were fantastic games... but would they have been better without the gimmick?

First of all, love the Sauria reference. Even if the rest wasn't fun that would have been enough.


Second, the characters were fun so that's nice. Slippy especially.

Third, loved the nice detail where the Arwing moniors said "Good Luck" when the mission started.

Fourth, what the hell is up with Peppy >_>


Thoroughly enjoyed it and want more. A lot more.

Like I wouldn't care if they just adapted every mission from Zero into an anime episode. I'd watch that **** at air time every time.

So many cool little details too.

Also when I saw the shots of the Cornerian citizens and how they all looked different, I though "this could literally be sci-fi Zootopia. Zootopia meets Gundam".

I got the Plasma Beam...
I got the Spring Ball...
I got a bunch of randomly placed missiles and energy tanks (like very randomly)...

That amimated short was absolutely amazing. Loved every second of it... except for then they mispelled "Peppy Hare" as "Peppy Hair"

Yeah, I'll admit I don't follow Xbox news. ^^'

But still, New Super Mario Bros. U. got a pretty strong "Ugh, not another 2D Mario nostalgia pandering platformer" reaction, and Pokemon tends to get "Ugh, not another Pokemon game" from outsiders. And that statement could apply for anyone being happy about any franchise with more than one game getting a sequel.

And the comment about the forum complaining reminds me pretty strongly of Smash.

All in all, I think a lot of people assume Nintendo is glorified by it's fandom when in reality most of the fandom is pretty disappointed in it and a good chunk of outsiders have a tendency to wander onto news articles and subforums on any shared site just to rant about how much they hate it.

Not that there isn't hypocrisy at times, but that applies to everything, biased both for and against Nintendo depending on who's talking.

Star Fox, Xenobladeand Fire Emblem get their own Anime series

Mario, Zelda and Metroid get Theatrical Releases

Splatoon, Pikmin, Animal Crossing and Kirby get shorts

And Kid Icarus, F-Zero and Punch Out get OVAs


That's how we do it. And the live action goes to Zelda and Metroid

I would actually say Fire Emblem is a more natural fit than Zelda for live action.

But half of the FE fanbase are anime diehards now so it might not blow over well.

Also I know the latter is already happening, but I think Mario would be better off as a TV show (anime or cartoon, doesn't really matter), than a movie. It just makes a lot more sense and would better represent the formula of the games.

The only Mario game that gives off movie vibes at all is Super Mario Galaxy and I don't even want a movie adaptation of that.

I know this is several pages old, I still can't get over the fact that Peppy screams "BARREL ROLL" every time he does a barrel roll.

You know potentially in Claymation.
It would be cool and make sense,
