Only just caught the short now...I have to say I'm impressed, almost as if it was part of a series...Almost as if it should be a series...

I wanna caption that gif I took now. It seems like it's perfect Smash related things.

>tfw you're #2 in Melee and Fox is #1
>tfw you get shine-spiked before you can shine-spike them
>tfw you're still waiting for more buffs in Smash 4
>tfw when their hands are on your prey

I would actually say Fire Emblem is a more natural fit than Zelda for live action.

But half of the FE fanbase are anime diehards now so it might not blow over well.

Also I know the latter is already happening, but I think Mario would be better off as a TV show (anime or cartoon, doesn't really matter), than a movie. It just makes a lot more sense and would better represent the formula of the games.

The only Mario game that gives off movie vibes at all is Super Mario Galaxy and I don't even want a movie adaptation of that.
FE had an OVA released in the 90s and was officially dubbed by Nintendo of America.

That series is rooted in anime for YEARS. Plus Zelda is much more mainstream to do it and Mario truly needs his chance on the big screen considering the last one was a massive insult and a failure in every regard.

Star Fox, Xenobladeand Fire Emblem get their own Anime series

Mario, Zelda and Metroid get Theatrical Releases

Splatoon, Pikmin, Animal Crossing and Kirby get shorts

And Kid Icarus, F-Zero and Punch Out get OVAs

That's how we do it. And the live action goes to Zelda and Metroid
Just steal from successful TV shows of the past.

Animal Crossing: Desperate Houseanimals
Game of Thrones: Is Marth a King or a Queen?
S*P*L*A*T
Kid Supernatural: Clonecest
Breaking Olimar: Blue Pikmin
Top Gear: SHOW ME YA MOVES Edition
Cooking with Samus
Etc.

I just mean from a logistical standpoint. In terms of what the universes of the games are.

Fire Emblem makes sense for live action more than any other series (except Metroid) because you could easily have a GoT esque series with it. The entire set up of the different kingdoms and lords and what not just works for it.

Zelda makes more sense for something animated, maybe CGI, because it's much more fantastical and one of the defining features of Zelda is it's more unique artistic variance with it's different incarnations.

Mario makes sense for an episodic series because "save the princess" is hard to make into a movie especially when people are not used to seeing Mario talk full sentence, and it's hard to make an interesting story there (and a movie can't get by on just jokes or gags, there needs to be a realised plot for it to be good). The spirit of Mario has always been "do whatever", especially lately, so the episodic TV series just makes more sense for Mario. Each episode has it's own little, cute story that stands on it's own.

Was that Star Fox a pilot for an anime? Because it was awesome : great animation (CGI that looked like handrawn?), good humour, cool story, even a cliffhanger. With E3 coming, I can easily see "Nintendo anime, movie and TV show" being one of there big reveals.

Fire Emblem is just as fantasy and over the top.

Every game has for fight a Dragon or Moster at the end and it just feels better.

Zelda would do better IMO in animation but mate we going mainstream here. Fire Emblem isn't good enough for that mainstream feel for a live action series. Plus GoT suck anyway and FE did it before the books were made (FE4).

I need less ripoffs

I may be nostalgic but all those fanmade roster images for Brawl were some of the best ones.

I'm talking pictures like in this video.

(also by any off-chance, does anyone have the image at 3:12?)

The over the top part is exactly why Fire Emblem would work better for live action.

Zelda is not an over the top franchise, typically. Hyrule Warriors not withstanding.

It's an adventure series. It's about a little hero going off into a big world to save it from a big evil. In some weird and wonderful fantasy lands. That needs to be animated. Just because Zelda is more popular, doesn't mean it has to go live action (I would actually argue it's LESS reason to go live action, as more people have an established idea of what Zelda should be in their heads and might be peeved at seeing live action, while people don't have as much of an established image of Fire Emblem right now).

Also dragons can be implemented as CGI.

"It's a good luck charm. Made out of General Pepper's fur! As a symbol of our friendship."
:4fox:: "Out of his fur?"
:4falco:: "Nothing weird there."
Okay, that part got a good laugh out of me.

I had an idea for a type of show Nintendo could do.

A variety show.

They could do 11 minute episodes that are each based off of different games, airing two episodes at a time.

If one short gets REALLY popular, they can then consider ballooning it out into it's own full series.

Pretty nostalgic I must say. I remember back in Middle School around late 2006 - early 2008 my friend would believe every single fake roster he saw on the internet and would get upset when I told him it was fake lol. Good times.
So, my friend shared this with me
Believable or bull?
The next newcomer in Smash Bros I bet.

I think Mario could still work well as a movie, while the series has a very basic plot, I see the gaps as an open canvas. The best example I could think of is the upcoming Angry Birds movie, which I think looks somewhat okay. They have the basic storyline, but still add in enough things to make it fit in a feature film.

I honestly hope LoZ never has a live action movie ever. Fingers and toes crossed that it never sees the light of day.

FE I could tolerate but I don't care really. Here's hoping Golden Sun has a few animated shorts for the series 15th anniversary. Something like the FE OVA from 1996. Would be a multi part series starting from the storm in the first game all the way to the finale of TLA.

BUT HE ISN"T PLAYING AS FALCO THAT'S WHY THE IMAGE IS CONFUSING
GGRWSHRHSRB

This short is absolutely filled with meme-worthy content. I love it
Perhaps Falco is upset with how poor his Melee incarnation's recovery is. He just falls way too fast in Melee, but at least Brawl and Smash 3DS / Wii U helped make his recovery a bit better.

Can we (Just for fun), rate Smash Bros. characters in FighterGeneration way? If you don't know what FightersGeneration is, it's a website about (You guessed it) FIghting games with News, introductions, and Character rating from other franchises.
He rates them on Moveset, Personality, Appearance, and Effectiveness to the series, then gives an overall score to the character, and has a summary with it.

For example:
Guile:
Moveset: 4.5/5
Personality:4.5/5
Apperance:4.5/5
Effectiveness: 5/5
Overall score: 4.5/5

Let's us do that, but with smash bros characters since he does not do those characters. (Since you know he does not count those as trational fighting games).

They need to do more of this. Really liked the animation.

I dunno, like, I don't care if it's based on Zero honestly. Also that controller Falco was using is kinda funny. it's not NX

That short took my expectations and highly surpassed them. Especially loved that cliffhanger. Too bad said cliffhanger may not get resolved. My only criticism is how Peppy acted during the beginning. He seemed a little too naggy for his character, but it didn't bother me too much.

Damn the reference game is so deep it transcends into other series.

It's not that I don't think they CAN'T make it work, I just think it's far better suited to an episodic TV show.

I mean, maybe they could do the TV show first, give the characters more fleshed out personalities there (lord knows 3/4 of the core Mario cast need it to be in something like this), and THEN make a movie?

I think that could work.

Nintendo seriously needs to make this a series.

*puts on tinfoil hat* I wonder if what Falco was playing was the NX.
WELP, TIME FOR SCIENCE.

I love the internet

even if he is playing as Fox against himself so he shouldnt be mad
Imma look at your post if you don't mind. I don't want to have to pause for it.

It. . .kinda looks like a version of it with a DS top tacked onto it if you squint. It's missing the joysticks, but the bottom screen at least matches the proportion.

. . .Holy crud, what if it IS a console/handheld hybrid for it's gimmick?

. . .Cruddy CRUD CRUDBALLS, what if the sticks are on a separate attachment that you can swap out for the second screen?

Komaytos and Metroids have nothing to do with each other and there is nothing you can do to make me think otherwise

Word of God(dess) even says so

Why are you listening to Viridi the liar?

You know damn well Komaytos and Metroid's are alike.
Also Space Pirates

Wait, are you just saying that because they wouldn't be stupid enough to break the announcement day with their own video, or. . .

Do you have something you want to share with the class, Soul.? :troll:

Unfortunately, it seems that they were mistaken as they issued a retraction for that.

Standalone upload with better picture quality.

That was a well done short, it had a lot of character to it as the humor was fun, the action was good, and the little nods (Sauria, the magazine) and the glimpse into Cornelia's normal state were very nice to see. Also, the conspiracy hint at the end was pretty interesting as I remember someone commenting that General Pepper's command may have some shadiness to it that isn't really touched, and we may finally be able to see that with the game.

All in all, I enjoyed watching that, I hope Nintendo does more of it.
