I just checked that Smash fangame page
Screenshot_2016-04-18-20-24-27.png

I don't care if the rosters are just for fun, why is there a random japanese schoolgirl in it and why don't we have something like this in Smash?

Sometimes describing Smash is weird.

Like, i literally can say is a game in which you can use Pacman so he can punch Cloud in the face, or a game in which Mewtwo can throw Bob-Ombs at Bayonetta.

If Ayumi made it into Smash, then i could describe Smash as "a game in which you can play as a schoolgirl (Ayumi) that can fight a Dog (Duck Hunt) a Princess (Zelda or Peach) or Pokémon, IN SPACE"

What ever happened to the rule in this thread that the title would only change once a week...

I swear every time I log on there's a new one.

Not here to be mean, but why did you tag me when I asked to not do this?

Your roster is a honest 6/10 due to cuts of Greninja, Ryu, Robin, and Roy. Lack of King K Rool is distrubging and I don't get the love for Layton or Sukapon.

I approve of Bayo's cut though

You're using a GPS to leave your driveway....there's your problem...

Well, it seems like Nintendo has always had a bunch of lively characters as reps.

Now, we have reggie, etc. We had Iwata too...

In the 80' they had "Howard Phillips" who is partially responsible for us getting Doki Doki Panic instead of "The Lost Levels". He looked kind of like he was a kid in an adult skin.

He found Mario 2 Japan to be too hard/ boring and also thought it would harm Mario's imagine. Especially since it just looked like a bad rom hack.

Apparently recently Howard Phillips attempted a project to revive his cartoon character from "Nintendo Power" for an educational app. It wasn't successfully funded on kickstarter

Yay! Killer Instinct's Mira will be shown off this weekend!

Also, I've been listening to the Killer Instinct soundtrack lately and I really love what I've been hearing.

.....I want to travel back in time and punch a Nintendo Employee.

Because APPARENTLY.

In the Second Quest of Zelda 1.

There were some bushes that would magically respond to the recorder which exclusively drained the water in like 2 areas of the game and then was the weakness for Digdogger.

And thus in the Master Quest version of the Adventure Map; you gotta doot doot until enemies appear to do some sick dance moves.

Wow, um. . . :scared:

So I looked at the rules for this fangame wiki thing and apparently they want you to have a huge chunk of it completed and written out before you even start. I tend to be more of the "by the seat of my pants" type, so the fact that they say you'll have your work deleted and you'll be kicked out for not having it be largely complete off the bat is a bit intimidating. Not that I don't understand, seeing as even lot's of regular articles on places tend to just be unhelpful stubs, but it's still a bit terrifying.

And then there's the fact that they don't want you to copy anyone, but also insist you use an image that's already on the database if they have it, and that anyone who's a terrible artist will also have their work taken down for sucking. So I guess you're either supposed to be a brilliant artist or start asking for permissions from a whole bunch of people before you start, as any generic images will likely already be uploaded? What happens if the people who uploaded the image are no longer present?

. . .This seems really overly complicated for anyone who has anything less than some kind of ultra-specific and elaborate fantasy game in mind and the artistic skills to back it up.

You mean Famicom Detective Club?
Can I be in the title? I know who Ayumi is.

If there was a Nintendo Project X zone, she would be really good in it.

It's an obscure game, but it got more known this smash and how does no one remember her? Nintenzilla was a big supporter of her, and brought more light to her.

Anyone have a personal power tier list in kirby?

Mine goes Everything else -> Cutter -> Beetle - > Spark - > Mirror - > Ice

Obviously some are not applicable in all games

I watched all manner obscure things get circulated during the speculative era and even I don't remember her cropping up until recently. I would say she was just a face in the masses, but there was a LOT of obscure requests being dragged to the forefront and mass requested that would probably get some degree of recognition from me. Like, to the point that I assume Sheriff and Prince Sable became Assist Trophies out of sheer popularity.

Then again, I was mostly lurking GameFAQs at the time, so I don't know what support bases went down here.

I don't know about elsewhere, but she, sable, and takamaru surfaced pretty often. IT wasn't massively covered, but she definitely made a presence imo.

Sheriff never got brought up here until his assist trophy though.

I thought everyone knew Ayumi after we learned he was mentioned by Sakurai TBH. . .

Relatively big rumor for Playstation fans regarding the "PS4K"

Codename NEO
won't have exclusive games
No NEO only features
Specs
etc.
He?

Oh, well then....

:p

As for the PS4 rumor, if that's true, it won't be much, the NX should be fine.

. . .I could have sworn Maridia in it's entirety (excluding the half of a second in the tube) was AFTER you get the gravity suit.

Yeah i'm like 90% sure you shouldn't be there yet. At least make an attempt to get to the abandoned ship (Northeastern most point of the world)

You can create an article as you go along as long as it has some content on it. For example, an SSB fan game that has a few characters and text added in will usually be just fine. But a fan game just stating "there will be more characters than SSB 4" with nothing probably is at risk of being deleted. You can also add an "Under Construction Banner" on the top of the page.

Let's say you want to use a Bowser image that s already in the database. It's best to use that image that's within the database instead of uploading an exact copy in order to save space. But if it's altered to fit the design of your game (I.e. Backgrounds, text, effect), then it's perfectly fine if it's the same picture. As long as it's different from the original, you can upload it. If not, it's best to use the database image. There are plenty of horrible artists and writers on the site who still have projects and articles up. If the image was heavily edited or was drawn by them, it's best to ask permission before including it into your project. If the person is no longer there, comment asking permission and a higher up will authorize it.

Now, if it's a generic image of Bowser or the SSB4 model of Shulk, there's no need to ask permission for its as its seen as a general use of Shulk. Now if it's a recolor of Shulk that wasn't featured in Smash and created by the member, then it would be wise to ask to use it in a project.

You don't need to be a wikiwizard or the next Van Gogh to have your article up there. Checked the "Featured Articles" or "Sysop Approved" to get an idea what's makes a good article.

. . .This seems really overly complicated for anyone who has anything less than some kind of ultra-specific and elaborate fantasy game in mind and the artistic skills to back it up.
There are honestly over 80 FnaF and spinoff articles on that site. I think you are overanalyzing things a bit.

Well, overanalyzing is kind of my specialty. Embarrass

I'll look into it a bit more.

If I do start something, that "under construction" banner is presumably going to be up ASAP. :lick:

*EDIT* Wha-

It looks like the featured article is some kind of fanfiction sequel.

*EDIT EDIT* So judging by the tags, this place has a fanfiction capacity as well. Interesting. . .

I'm convinced the word "Troll" has been changed to:

"Someone who is arguing against my beliefs" or "Someone that doesn't agree with me" when I see a headline like "NASA Shuts Down Climate Change Denying Troll On Facebook"

The guy wasn't a troll, he just doesn't believe in Climate change.

The word "Troll" doesn't mean anything anymore

Edit: Also "Ariana Grande Just Decimated an Online Troll Who Called Her a "*****""

If you yell back at the troll, and it IS a troll. YOU DIDN'T DECIMATE HIM

Also just calling someone names isn't trolling

Not sure how many keep up with the SG Daily post, but the last two translations we posted explain stage selection/ stage layout in Melee.

Sakurai had the idea of "front" and "back" stages. Stages were ordered the same universe. I think horizontally they also follow the same pattern as Smash 64 (with a set of Mario stages on both ends).

Corneria, and Venom.
Great Bay and Temple.
etc

This really shows that the Ice Climber Stage (Summit) would have probably been the Ice Climber's "front" stage. I think Akaneia could have corresponded to Game and Watch since both would have only 1 stage each. This would have made the stage layout two rows across. Neat!

Also, Sprout Tower got replaced by either Pokefloat or Pokemon Stadium pretty early (I'm guessing the earlier one, as Venasaur's earthquake animation comes from an early version of Pokemon Stadium). But it's not confirmed.

The more you know!

...I've read too much about Smash development. :X

Man Sprout Tower would have been awesome and less rage inducing than Poke Floats

Well, actually, many trolls do set up accounts like that.

Mainly when it comes to the most controversial accounts possible, such as Moms against autism which was found to be a troll account. :p Or christians against dinosaurs. There's a lot of accounts out there like that just to troll people into a reaction.
