So... I have a quick question for you guys. Does anyone know how to make a simple image have a transparent background at all? I know this might seem noobish, but I'm just getting into image software. So I'm trying to learn the basics before I get into the advanced stuff. For those wondering, I am using GIMP for this, but I am willing to use any other kind of image software if it helps at all.

I'm not sure about Gimp, but on photoshop if you have your image on it's own layer and delete the background so you have just the grid showing...you'll need to save it as a .png in order to retain the transparency...
However if you have an image with a background merged on the same layer then you'll have to erase it yourself...of course you can use the wand tool to select everything else then delete...

As I said though I'm not sure about gimp, but I'm fairly certain you'll still have to save as .png to retain any transparency...

Confirming jpg doesn't allow transparency in gimp and you need png. Unless there is some reallly really weird way to do that.

Learned that the hard way. . .


Add an alpha channel and you should be able to remove backgrounds.

Layer --> Transparansy --> add alpha channel

when you save/export just make sure the box that says "save background color" isn't ticked

I hate people that go by their middle name

They like putting their middle name instead of their first name on legal documents

and I have to match it with their ID

So I get into this argument with them that goes around in a circle

"This needs to be under your first name" "I don't go by your first name"

"I need the name to match exactly to your ID" "That name IS on my ID"

They try and argue semantics to me about what name means

Finally I just have to stop and say "I'm not going to do this transaction until it's fixed"

Almost as overrated as Naruto, at least that's what my friends say. They say the first story arc was good, then it just became, in their words, 'trash'. I don't really watch anime anymore outside of Kai episodes for nostalgia's sake.

Also, that sex scene in the light novel version. Asuna getting *Glooped*.

It's something that gets far more praise from diehard fans than it is justified for and drops in quality from a fairly early point and becoming more about fanservice and waifu bait than... y'know... being a story-driven action show.
And in general is just a lot poorer execution behind a big series in the early-mid 200s.

Personally hate the anime.I was so hyped for the show when it i first annouced.A anime about a computer game in which your death in game means death irl.Plus from what i was hearing asuna was gonna be a kick ass female anime character,how often do you see that nowadays.Instead i got Kiritio's harem simulator with a very lackluster anime attached to it.Most of the characters are one dimensional and are there just there to be a tear jerker.I will admit the animation is beautiful some of the best i seen in anime exactly is was the best until one punch man came out in destroyed it.So in short i personally dislike anime 3/10 but thats probably because i put it on a level that it could never reach.I might rewatch it one day but i cant recommened it

I enjoyed .hank's story and part of the concept. It was a stretched a little too thin (the original at least, haven't played the other ones). I enjoyed that you could carry your character over, I just didn't think it was cool to sell each game as full price.

Yeah, the fact that it IS spread out as 4 games at full price was a bit costly back in the day.

But it being crammed to the point that you could easily spend 80 hours on each game made it feel... more vindicated. Like each one, while part of a greater story, had a lot of content into each part.

Gonna say it again.It's sad when the abridged series is better than the original series.Like in everything.Like a better kritio,better character development,and actually better humor.Tells the exact same story way better than the series.Highly reccommend SAO abridged than the original SAO

No really Kirito is so awful.He's has the personality of a cardboard box with literally no reason to do half the **** in the series.He's like the very defintion of a gary-sue.He's the only character in the whole show who can dual-wield maining he has unfair advantage.Not to mention why is he stronger than asuna or any character in the show that tries to beat the game.Really like just look at Asuna she is always fighting on the main line and is impled to have done a lot of work in the game.And is straight up said to be possibly be stronger and smarter than him.But yet shes shown weaker than him and consistenly needs him.Thats bull****. Especially when for like half of the episodes in the first half of the season kirito does nothing he jokes around and does nothing.Like on what level is he on were he doest have to do any type of work.Dear god i hate this show so much.Oh and dont get me started on the other half of the series.
