...is there really an argument about which Fire Emblem character best represents which Power Ranger?

I guess its better than the Waifu wars talks I've been seeing...
Oh really?

I litereally just posted about this in another thread

Marth - Red
Corrin - Green
Ike - Black
Robin - Blue
Roy can be Yellow I guess
and Lucina - Pink

I'e never played Roy's game so I don't know what his personality is like

My only other guess is marth could be yellow since "Boi" (Yellow Ranger) from super sentai is the sensitive one

Roy could probably be "Rocky" as the Red Ranger, but I don't think he's a "Jason"

So the more I play the new DLC the better it gets.

I especially love how Xander sounds shocked as he announces Bayonnetta.

He's like BAYONNETTA!!?

A statement every uttered upon her reveal.
I like the announcer's liveliness and personality in this game. Not to say the previous games' announcers were bad, though.

Xander Mobus deciding to put some unique spins into each character's calls was a neat idea and adds a unique charm to the game. With Bowser and Ganondorf, he does the calls in a more menacing way (they're villains, after all). With Mewtwo and Roy, he actually calls back to Melee by using the same tone as the announcer did back in Melee. And there's the "Bowser... Jr.!" thing too.

If Bayonetta's *** can fit in Smash, so can Ridley. It's like the size of two Ridley's.
Her ass is just firm and sizeable. It ain't even big.

If you want to talk about something like that being big look at this:

I agree, Bowser Jr. is also one of my favorite ways he calls a character. He's my favorite announcement ad has done really well imo in this installment.

You know, since a lot of you figure the NX is releasing this year. . .how would you react if it released Holiday 2017 instead?

Would that change anything for you regarding how you would view the fate of Smash NX?

In terms of new characters and gimmicks for a future Smash. I'm hoping for some kind of weapon specialist like how Firion uses various weapons in Dissidia. Mainly their gimmick being able to switch between like three weapons on the fly as one of their specials and change their A moves that can used for comboing.

Like Anna.
Switching between Swords/Magic. Lances/Bows, and then Axes/Hidden weapons
The actual weapon triangle in a fighter.

I think after DLC I'm surprised to find all three DLC third parties in my revised mains list...

Rosalina, Yoshi, Ryu, Zelda, Cloud, and Bayonetta.

@Swampasaur Marth actually is pretty damn good, in FE1 he tanks everything and his Rapier packs a punch, and when he gets the Falchion, enemies that aren't manaketes can't counterattack him. In Shadow Dragon he ended up destroying EVERYTHING in my experience, while rarely taking much damage. I was able to win some stages by Warping him to the boss, have Marth kill the boss. Wait for the enemies to attempt to kill Marth, and then Seize. And then there's the powerful Star Orb Mercurius combo you can use for a while. He's also the only unit that can visit villages, so that's neat.

I don't think anyone here expects it to release this year....

Most expect 2017, including me.

At first, a few people across the internet thought it could release this year, but a lot of places( here included) figured that wouldn't happen, considering we have not heard anything on it yet, and it be a bad move to completely cut off the wii u by releasing it this year.

I feel a little confused because I thought people were talking about Smash NX releasing in 2016.

I guess I must have misread.

It makes it a little odder in my mind that everyone is so certain Smash NX is going to be a vanilla port, though, what with the extra year of preparation time. If they moved most of the team onto the project when Smash 4 wrapped up, Smash NX would have only slightly less development time than any other Smash game.

Plenty of people have, in fact, brought up a 2016 release, for both smash and NX.

Personally I straight up don't care enough to have an opinion.

With a Smash NX port, the consensus is divided there for the moment.

Most agree that at the very least it's a straight port if real.( Which makes the most sense), but as for additional content, some people think we'll get at least wolf and Ice Climbers, others think they may just add new modes or combine both games.
I think at the very least the port will have everything from both versions plus the ice climbers.

I do hope( and think it's a possibility) that there are a few more characters and stages though.

If I had to guess, E3 will help shed a lot of light on the NX and maybe even a potential smash port.

I see 2017 the most likely release for a port, but if the NX released in 2016 somehow, then a 2016 release for it is possible to.

I also think that they started working on a port of smash a year or 2 ago for the NX. They most likely split up the development team of this one. One group did the DLC, the other the port, and when DLC finished, the teams would come together and add some new characters and features to the port.

A) The time is a very loose thing. Sure, Melee got churned out in 2 years by working everyone to death. But wasn't Brawl unveiled with some gameplay within the trailer back in in 2006 before finally getting it in 2009? Likewise, we had gameplay and trailer shown at E3 2013, and got Smash 4 surprisingly only in fall of 2014. We can't REALLY tell how much time went into the games BEFORE they were announced.

B) It matters HEAVILLY on the team size. Sure, the main team went from "gameplay & trailer" to full game in a bit over a year for Smash 4's disc/cartridge.
But the DLC team has spent about equivilent time for... :4mewtwo::4lucas::4feroy::4ryu::4cloud::4bayonetta::4corrinf: 7 characters. 8 stages. ~2 dozen mii costumes, FINALLY getting Tournament mode to finish and balance patches.

C) You're gonna get hella series rot if we don't get a break between major installments. From a business decision an "ultimate edition" makes more sense than sinking full force into ALREADY making another.

Now that DLC is finished, who was your #1 most-wanted newcomer that didn't make the cut this time? Aside from K. Rool and Ridley (and perhaps Inklings as well) as I know a lot of people will say them and the answers may be homogenous in that regard.

Mine was and always will be Toad, followed by Bandana Dee, Wonder Red, Dillon, Hawlucha, Sukapon, (Inklings) and Sami in any order.
I still want to play as these characters in Smash:

Toad / Captain Toad / Toadette / Toadsworth / Toad Brigade (they are all alts for Toad like how the Koopalings are all alts for Bowser Jr.)
Paper Mario
Meowth OR Team Rocket (Meowth and Wobbuffet as a team)
Dixie Kong OR Dixie & Kiddy (team)
Squirtle
Ivysaur
King K. Rool
Tingle
Linkle (love her design and hope she becomes a recurring character in the Zelda series)
Waddle Dee
Wolf
Ice Climbers
Takamaru
Medusa
Captain N
Simon Belmont (hopefully the NES/SNES designs)
Banjo-Kazooie (hopefully the N64 design)
Shantae
Inklings
Muddy Mole from Mole Mania
Wandering Heroes from StreetPass Mii Plaza (cats, dogs, and bunnies with swords, shields, and magic)
Mallo from Pushmo
Chibi-Robo
Isaac
Advance Wars rep
Track Meet (my suggested name for the Olympics athlete from World Class Track Meet who could be the next retro hardware rep after G&W, ROB, and DHD)

There are many other characters I would like to see... but the ones listed above are who I want the most.

2006, not 05. 05 is when the game was announced.
I don't know, I feel like everyone's opinions change everyday here....

I'll still stick with 2017 till I see more of it though.

If they moved the majority of the pre-production team onto Smash NX in late 2014 and hired some new people.

2014-2017 is three years.

The only thing I gather here is that the fandom is utterly sick of Smash Brothers.

So...
Make a pre-production team.
That ran side by side the production of DLC? Starting pratically immediately from when Smash WiiU was completed?
That, personally, doesn't make much sense.
