I mostly just think there should have been a cartoony/classic character to go with Corrin and Bayonetta. Or instead of Corrin.
At the end of the day, Corrin didn't just disappoint because FE, it was because it was the most blatant shill they could have gone for. Like, it's not even like he's a fan favourite right now. It's a character I couldn't possibly know much about even if I wanted to.
Bayonetta is cool and pleased a good amount of people, but at the end of the day she's fairly niche, not just in terms of how many people know her. But also her demographic. She's a standard shonen anime protagonist type of character but from a video game and she's a lady. I have known of her since she debuted because of friends but I have yet to play her games so I don't have an attachment right now.
I just think either Wolf, a fan favourite Nintendo newcomer, or a cartoony third party, could have really helped make the final DLC feel more well rounded and complete. It just feels a little shallow right now.
Hell, for me personally, I really just wanted an extra mode or new features. Didn't get that though.
That's just why I'm not hyped. I'm mildly looking forward to playing these new characters since they look fun to play, but the fact remains that after a weekend or so, I will pretty much be bored already because the game has so little for me to do WITH these characters in single player. And online is bad and I mainly will do some rounds with friends and that's it. After that, I'm about ready to move on from Smash Wii U, especially once I get all customs. 3DS will remain an occasional time waster though on the go. Oh and maybe I'll take a few screens of Bayonetta being smitten with Rosalina, for fun (Rosalina looks a bit like Jeanne). :V
Maybe I'll get back into it if I can more reasonably go to tournaments, or I meet someone IRL who plays it. But otherwise, there's no magic left.
