Question for you peeps, especially you Fire Emblemers... How do you pronounce "Tharja"?

Soft or hard J? (like the "s" in Asia or the J in Jay?)

For Kuma or anyone else interested in Guilty Gear. This was part of the AC+ side tourney at EVO 2013, specifically the Top 8 in loser's bracket.

This whole set is one of the many reasons why I love this series so much. Loooooooooooots of clutch moments and fast, frenetic gameplay---even from a grappler-type character (Potemkin).

I pronounce it Thar(similar to Thor but with an Arrr) Jaa.(like Java, but a slightly longer-sounding A)

I don't play Fire Emblem, but it was addressed to everyone, so...

I always read it as hard J but maybe that's just me I'm not sure if there's anything official...

I say it like "Thar," which is like tar, but with a th-, and then pronoune "ja" like it's pronounced in the name "Raj." You know, that sort of J sound.

Th-aa-r-(hard j)-aa

English isn't my first language so my pronunciation might be a bit different than yours.

I say Sarja. **** Engrish translations.
Tharja for the win then.

I got no issues with dub names, as long as they aren't actually that stupid(Tharja isn't,to note). LoadKnightmon over LordKnightmon? What's up with that? Crusadermon did sound freakin' awesome regardless.

Jigglypuff sounds better than Purin to me, really.

I say Thar (as in "Tharrhhhh") and jah (as in the ending of "Elijah").

I also call King Dededede King Dayh-Dayh-Dayh-Dayh... most of the time.
I would usually call him King Dee-dee-dee for the sake of 'Murica, but I never play as him because then I wouldn't be able to stop thinking about this.

Japanese is closer to Spanish than it is to English. The stereotypical J = Y thing (Joo gotta problem, mang?) actually fits the pronunciation in this case.

Sarja is close to sounding like "Saria"

That's how I say Tharja, for the record, since I don't think I described it well in my last post.

When does j make an s sound?

The "s" in "Asia" is not a traditional "s" sound. Well, in American English, at least... I guess some people pronounce it "ay-zee-ah".

For clarification, I meant:
The ʒ sound that can be found in equation, pleasure, vision, beige.

... none of which actually have "j" in them. Mostly, some foreign languages use the J for that soft "Je ne sais quois", and since Tharja isn't an English name, it could realistically sound like a J, H, Y, or ʒ.

But yeah, I say "Thar-Juh".

Lo siento mi espanol no es muy bueno.

Shouldn't it be "muy bien?" "Bueno" usually means good in the sense of "well." So you basically are saying that you're sorry that your Spanish isn't very well.

En outre, comme le Ridley champion du monde de Smash Undisputed, je veux que vous sachiez tous que si Ridley ne permet pas en tant que personnage jouable dans Super Smash Bros WiiU et 3DS, nous avons tous la rage comme nous sommes un groupe de Type Dragon Pokémon avec dragon Rage.
