Exactly. While 7 of them are already confirmed, the other 5 are not in any way, shape or form. It's really annoying when people just purely assume. Albeit, yes, there's very little chance the other 5 won't make it in, but still, he hasn't given any indication they're coming back at all.

That what I am thinking too. I asked this same person his source and this is what I got:

there was a statement even around brawls' release that the original smashers would never leave the game and it's pretty clear jigglypuff was added in last minute to keep this up for brawl

he's said it more than once in other interviews as well, though i never look for interviews myself so i have no idea where they were

Even if that was true for Brawl, I'm not 100% confirming it for 3DS/Wii U.
